Thundershirt Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thundershirt Wednesday

Woke up to a light show this morning, hate having to push the dogs outside, but it wasn't even raining yet and I get those pathetic eyes like I am suppose to do something about the thunder and lightening.

Safe travels to all on the road, hopefully it is clear and dry :D

Good morning Bonnie & everyone!

Bonnie, we had our light show last night, but we could be having some thundershowers later today again. My father isn't doing well, so we'll be leaving for the hospital in a bit. My sister flew up from FL last night and has been with him since 2:00 this morning. Another sister is driving up from NC today. Due to circumstances, I only have coffee available, so please help yourselves.

Good Morning Bonnie and all who follow,

Had to laugh at your dogs Bonnie, been there done that with many a dog too. Course thunder and lightning is another matter altogether. My last collie Tessa was terrified of storms. And watching the Weather Channel this morning, you dogs have some due concerns as to the weather. They say there are some tornadoes popping up down you way. So keep an eye on weather.

As for me, it's a beautiful sunny morning here. Cool temps in the mid 40's, which is just nice. Only to about 70 for today. Fine by me. Maybe will keep the mosquitos at bay. They have been horrible these past few days. With all the rains we have had last fall, plus winter snow and ice and spring rains. they are out in droves. Feels like I'm living in AK. Hard to get anything done around outside.

New wallpaper border for the TT came in yesterday, so will put that up sometime this week. Don't know if it will be today or not. Have appt. this morning and a few things to pick up at store, plus plant last of flowers, a few petunias. Want to install the new shelf in the one cupboard now that it's painted and dried.

Kathy, you would be welcome to meet me someplace in U.P. Long drive up there from where you are though. Will give you my itinerary when I finalize it. Made some changes already and am still searching where I want ot stay in far western end yet.

Time to get moving here. Want to change bedding, get dressed and run those errands before my appt. Then of course need a few minutes extra time to get through the road construction out here. They are starting to lay asphalt now, so we should be down toward the end before long I think. Was interesting watching that operation last night while I was out walking with Sassy.

Irmi, prayers for your father. You take care yourself too.

G'morning all :)

Irmi, soooo sorry to hear your dad is not doing well :( Must be pretty serious for family to be coming home in the middle of the night. Will keep him in my prayers....Bonnie, now I got your name! Soos, glad to hear the O's & mom are doing well.

Sue, good to see you back. Happy to hear you'll be taking your TT out for some real camping...BTW, BJ, I was LOL that you almost forgot your DH's bday  Now you're "dragging" Toby out for a walk? I don't know any dog that doesn't like walks. You've got a strange one there ;)

Ava, so funny that you mention taking breaks (naps) when working. For the first time yesterday, I realized I just can't work 8-10 hrs in the yard like I used to! Quit after 4-5, napped, then had energy to get back at it for another couple hrs. What a difference the nap made! What's the saying? Old age ain't for sissies

Looks like rain & thunder here today. Guess it's housework day! Y'all have a great one & be safe always! 8-)

Good Morning... another hot day here in central Il... 76 and it is not even 8am... not my kind of weather. cannot be pleased do not like cold or hot...

I have been sorting papers and mail. That is so hard for me. While at the task yesterday Christy called from Dep of Aging and my cleaning is re-scheduled... That will be such a help as it is harder and harder to run the vacuum. Not sure what else I have to have in order to get cleaning. Will find out later...

Soos glad you have been able to spend this time with the double O's and Mandy... and a trike wow Orion must be thrilled... Cheryl hope you do take the day trip to visit Kathy... Irmi so sorry your dad is not doing well... continuing to pray for God's will... take care along this road of unknowns...

Time to fix some coffee...

Me and My Shadow send happy thoughts your way

Good Morning !!! Irmi, I am so sorry to hear your Dad is so ill. Hope he improves soon, will keep him and your family in my prayers. Take care of you !!!

Bonnie, so nice to see you are back, I missed your pic of those beautiful dogs, you were missed too, :D Hope you won't leave again for so long anyway.

Sue, such an ambitious person. Sure wish I was going to make that trip around the UP with you this summer, so enjoyed it all last summer.

Carolb, you make me wish I could plant a few things. Used to love gardening, something my DH and I loved doing and shared all the work. Last yr I planted tomatoes and bell peppers in huge pots I have by my front step. They did great, I harvested a lot before leaving for MI and then my neighbor continued to pick and bell pepper plant was still putting out after I had been gone the summer. That helped my gardening hopes and had planned to plant something else in those pots this summer, hadn't decided what, but not an issue now so can rest the brain

Sarah, I do love your haircut. hopefully you will find it easier to take care of and get used to it soon.

I have found when I have the air on in here, can't hear the tv that well, so I go to these blogs all of these ladies are making up and its better then any ole tv program I might find :D So if you are making a blog, I am thoroughly enjoying it or will soon. I'm waiting for 2nd part of the Alfa make over, what a great job you all have done, Carol and Bill.

Ava, I was so glad to hear that you will have a summer that you can work on the things you want and the time is yours for a change, I think its past time. Another ambitious person here, looking forward to your deck building, you are so talented. I am so happy for you that you are enjoying your own home again and able to do the things you've hoped and planned to for some time now. Hope you have a great summer !!

No real news from here, my highlight for past couple of days, was my GD's, recital, she's 9 and it was fabulous, My first opportunity to see her and she has been going for several yrs, I'm just never here at this time of yr. Also soon will be my GS's graduation from Highschool. He's out of school now, and first time ever, I hear the service itself is going to be on a Tuesday. Making it hard for working parents, hope its inside in A/C.

So time moves on down here and the temps up  Maggie, doesn't know it yet, but its bath day for her, she's sleeping peacefully now :D Poor baby will probably have more bathes down here in a short time, then she usually gets in a yr. Fleas are leaving her alone and I want to be sure they stay off of her, she gets so upset with them, me too.

Time to get moving, no telling how many have posted while I rambled here. Have a great day, stay safe and try to do something you truly enjoy for some of the day.

CArol :)

This might be of use to someone when a post is lost...

Oftentimes, while you're composing your post, someone else will post before you (WHILE you're composing).

When you hit SUBMIT, you think you're successfully done and you move on to other things. You would be wrong. If you don't catch that your "YOUR MESSAGE HAS BEEN POSTED" or whatever the message is, and think you're post is lost, hit your back key once or twice, and it should take you to your original composition screen. You can then hit SUBMIT again and for the most part, you'll be successful. Sometimes, though, ANOTHER person will have posted and the same thing will happen. Again, just hit your back button to try and recover all your typing.

Did that make ANY sense at all?

Have done that many times and it really works, ;)

Good morning ladies
was up early and out the door at 6 (sunrise) to get the painting done on the next set of boards. Now thats all done and here I am, its just 7:30. Certainly got alot accomplished in an hour and a half. :D
Definately got hot yesterday and last night and more of the same today, :( guess summer is here in this part of the world.
Have discovered 3 local garden places very close by and I intend to check them out. One of them is only a mile away, never
knew it was there but it closes for the summer July 4, so will have to go check them out very soon. Love the home grown
stuff and I know next time Beth comes to town....guess where we're going :D
Continue to go through stuff that was packed away in the bedroom all these years and tossing some that needs tossing and
finding stuff I've been looking for....my voter registration card! HAH, there you are :D
Irmi, saying a prayer for your family, sorry your dad isn't doing well.
Time for breakfast, ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Bonnie, we are under a flash flood and tornado watch until this afternoon. We had only received an inch of rain earlier and then we had a couple of heavy downpours. If I wanted to get my feet wet I would go look at the rain gauge. My DH put it on a fence in a low place so if it rains we have to wade to check it. Don't think about moving it when it's not raining. There is another big area of rain in the gulf that will probably come through here. Up around I-10 and North of there some places have gotten 10 inches of rain. Lafayette is trying to get the kids home from school and the streets are flooded.

I didn't have any cavities yesterday but it's not pleasant having your teeth cleaned when your lips are sunburnt. The lady cleaning my teeth was trying out some new equipment that uses less water. I finally had to tell her that it felt like it was getting hot. She turned the water up and then I was getting a shower. I told her I liked their old system better.

Irmi, hope your dad gets to feeling better.

Almost noon here...beautiful morning! Have been busy getting everything packed up and ready to move. Will pick the truck up soon and have two people coming to help load, and unload in new place.

Just sitting out on my deck taking a little break. It is perfect out here! Sunny, slight breeze, low humidity, about 65, birds chirping, and wonderful "lake smell" blowing by my nose! :D Perfect day for moving!! Sure will miss the deck and lake view. Will have to go outside to visit the lake now, which works too. Need to go pick up my kayak this week and start using that too.

Better head out to get the truck now... have a good day! :D

(Irmi, will say a prayer for your dad and your family as you deal with this latest setback :( )
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Finally think I have all the paperwork to get my new license plates. My mail service is taking care of it for me now. Love them.

If any of you don't check all the forums and are interested, I posted in the gtg room with a link to my blog post of Sandi's day here yesterday and visiting Rushmore, Custer SP, etc It was so good to see her.

Martha, we have been getting a lot here too, glad I had a drainage system put in the yard, it would be a lake for days after rain like this. I did manage to cut the backyard before the clouds opened.
