Moving On in Tepic and surrounding area

Taking advantage of being here another day to post some pictures from the day we drove up to Tepic.
Got behind this cane truck on the lovely Highway 200 with its bizzillion curves - check out the mud flap

had to go through a little town - tropical plants everywhere

and just walk outside to get your bananas

in Tepic - city of 400,000 -pay attention when you are driving!

I couldn't see what was on the mudflap, too many reflections in here. what was it?
Have you tried the sugarcane chunks Carol? Do they just gnaw on them and get the juice?

the mud flap has a well endowed woman in a bikini on it haven't had any sugar can this time. when we drove through here in '78 with the kids, bill used to stop and let them out to pick up pieces of cane that the trucks had dropped. you skin it then chew the sugar out, spit out the fiber. doesn't appeal to me any more.

More wonderful pictures with such amazing colors! I absolutely LOVE the great use of color the Mexicans have in all they do, from houses to clothing. Makes me want to 'fix' up my house inside, at least, with some of those spectacular color schemes!

Thanks for the pictures. Love how lively and colorful the Mexican towns seem to be. I worry sometimes whether our MH can make it around the sharp and narrow turns. Our wheel base does not have the 55 degree turn that many diesels have. Also just googled Redwood Forest campgrounds and the longest rv they accept is 31 ft. Guess we might have to rethink some of our ideas. One of the downsides to a larger rv, hopefully the only one. I do love the space with 2 of us. carold

Great pics! I think death is better accepted in most countries other than ours - not sure if that's the correct way to put it - but death is a part of life that is dealt with differently in other places. Don't mean it to sound like they don't have the same feelings. We only see the lots of stones everywhere - seems that everything else is kept behind closed doors.

Thanks for taking me back to Tepic, I got a kick out of the coffin shop too! I love the Day of the Dead and the fact the Mexicans show so much respect for the dead.

As always the famous Mexican house's with the rebarb sticking out of the top..those houses are unfinished and stay that way for years. The Mexicans do not have to pay taxes on the house if it is not finished so people do not finish their homes on purpose!

Beth, i SIAD it was the reflections off the sparkling water and bright sun that made it difficult to see.(trying to make you winter folks jealous) If I had closed the blinds I'm sure I would have managed. However if you'd like to buy me new glasses I'd gladly accept them. Thank you. We have a date with the optician in March.

Another beautiful church, thanks for showing the inside of it.!!!! The fella sweeping the street, did that broom really sweep anything? I love all the colors of the towns, and colors the people wear, they're happy colors, the older I get the more I like lots of color. Not sure I could wear the bead clothing though. I see what you meant about the holding up traffic to get into that park. How many scrapes on that building?
