WONDERFUL HOT WED....

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Puttering Around Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed May 14, 2014 6:50 am

Yoo hoo, are we are sleeping in this morning? Guess you don't have "four legged alarm clocks" waking you up at 6 a.m.

Nothing new here to report, same old, same old. Another day puttering in TT or garage. Yesterday turned into a little project that I had been giving thought to. Making a wheeled carrier frame to keep my big TT hitch bar on when I am not using it. It's done except for one thing. Now I can wheel the thing over to truck hitch and just slide it in with out having to carry it all over. Darn things heavy, not that I can't carry it, but why should I. Will post picture when It's done. Right now am thinking of a way to attach the tension bars on to it as well. All in one nice compact package. But today will be returning to work in the TT itself as I have a couple of things I want to get done. Have the new cushion foam airing out and expanding right now. Friend is coming tomorrow and will be here through weekend, making two new covers for the back cushions as I wanted to have a pattern to break up the plain beige cushions. Also brining table saw to rip some board to make cupboard shelves. Ordered new foam for the bed mattress as well, and that should be arriving today. Very speedy as I just ordered it yesterday, but the company www.FoamNMore.com. is Mi based and a straight shot down the expressway from here, about 3 hours or so. Highly recommend buying foam from them as this foam is rubber based and will not break down like the latex base foam.

Judy, you are indeed going to have to spend more time in MI and also comme a bit later in spring when the weather is hopefully better.

Okay, time to let somebody else report in. Have a wonderful and safe day all.

Hello Donna! Looks like you and Sue both opened MC at the same time today! So I will post in both threads.

ANTS!!! Guess I didn't get the lil buggers, they are still crawling around in there. So I sprayed some more then vac'd up all the dead 'uns.

Definitely not hot here in IL. This weather is becoming rather monotonous-damp, rain, grey, dreary.

Had a 2nd estimate on driveway paving last night, way cheaper than the 1st and I know this guy personally.

Going to throw a couple loads of wash in this am, then head for the grocery store. Seems like we're always out of something!

Take care and travel safe all who are traveling and BE safe all who are not.

Kathy

On edit: I have no idea why this posted here! It was supposed to go into the thread Donna started! Oh well! Call me blonde. Ok, I think maybe the two were merged?????so that's why? Again, not a clue.

Good morning from Southern Illinois where it is raining and the high will only be 57 degrees, I love it. I hope some of this cool weather comes your way Donna I understand not being able to tolerate heat and especially humidity.
I see pink this morning through all the windows around my computer from all the flowers in bloom. The Rhododendron, climbing roses, honeysuckle (yes we have the pink variety) are in full bloom. Seems like everything has more blooms than usual this year.
Enjoy your day!
Just saw your post Kathy, if you see where the ants are coming in, spray with vinegar, then wet a paper towel with vinegar and leave over the place. Keep it wet for a couple of days after you stop seeing the ants and usually they won't come back.

Sue, you and Donna opened MC at the same time today! My "four-legged alarm clocks" go off at 4:30 am here!

Your comment about the foam "expanding" is funny. I was in the tc this am cleaning up the little rotten ants (yes they are still there, darn it) and happened to look up at the foam pad I bought for the dinette bed. Wow! When I first got it, it came all squished together and rolled up so I figured better open it in the camper. It's now twice the size it was when I unrolled it. Now, I probably can get it in and out of the door because it's not really THAT large but it sure would be interesting!

I think my DH is glad I called the 2nd driveway paving company- he's $2000 less than the first guy. Might be because he's also one of my very good clients and I've handled several crisis situations at his house while caring for his dogs while he was away. Still, I'd be inclined to throw my business his way because he's local.

Wish this weather would clear up so things could dry out. There are so many things I need to do outside that aren't getting done and not just yard work. Both horses need ground work and it's not too fun in the mud! My DH's new pup needs training too, but I'm not fond of standing out in the rain or dealing with a wet dog in the house. Forecast is for better though cooler weather next week. Maybe will get tc on truck then. I need to make one more trip to the feed store for bedding and feed for the horses first.

Heading out to store for more food. It seems we eat up everything I buy-why is that? LOL

Take care everyone, have a great day.

Kathy

Good morning everyone!

Sue, I can't wait to see the cart you built to haul your hitch equipment with. What a neat idea! Will Carolb be stopping by for a visit?

Kathy, that's great that you got the second estimate for the driveway blacktop. That will save you lots of money!

Donna, I would give anything to have the warmer weather you're having in FL.

BJ, I've never heard that before about stopping the ant situation. I have a friend that has that problem and I'll pass it on to her.

We are back in MD. Yesterday the weather was wonderful, in the high 80's to low 90's. Today we have the woodstove going and can't get above 59 degrees, although it's not 10:00 yet. This is the first time in months that I've had to put on jeans and a sweater. My Dad is still in the hospital with hopes of going back to his assisted living place today, but yesterday he was still doing a lot of coughing. I'll have to give him a call in a bit and see how he's doing. We have lots of yard work to get caught up on here, but it'll all get done in time.

I'm hoping that those in damp locations that the rain will stop, those in hot locations that the weather will cool down and hope that everyone is happy doing what they love.

Good Morning All, Hot, dry, Santa Ana conditions here in SoCal. Bad fire yesterday. Thankfully, no homes burned. The multiple fire crews did a very good job! I watched all the action on a local TV station all afternoon.
Lunch today with the retired water safety instructors. lyn

Good Morning everyone of you early birds... yes as Kathy said cool, damp and cloudy here in Il...

Another remedy for ants is bounce dryer sheets.. I even put them in my storage compartments and cupboards... in the mobile home I have them on the floor... not sure why it works but it does... I have a whole list of things to use bounce for...

Yesterday was a lost cause so today I must be productive... at least that is the plan for now...

Glad you got home safely Irmi... hope your dad gets back to his living place... Sue will be looking for the pictures of the before and after projects...

Me and My Shadow send you all happy thoughts for the day
Kathleen or Kathy

Use today wisely it's all you have; yesterday is a memory; tomorrow a dream... KLW[/b][/color]

Sunny and calm this morning after days of wet, cold dreary weather. Wish it would be a little warmer tho! Only in the 50's but supposed to be in the 70's this time of year.

Off to work soon. Hope you all have a great day!

My four legged fur balls are willing to sleep in as long as I want.

A cold front came through and it's cool and wet again. It's suppose to get down to 50 tonight and it's 66 now. It's suppose to be nice weather starting tomorrow for our rally. I plan to load up today so I can get there at noon tomorrow. It's only about 50 miles from here. Sure beats the usual 500 mile trips. We finally got a schedule and it looks like all our meals are taken care of so I will be ok without a refrigerator. I picked up some caned and packaged food yesterday.

I have had good luck with the Terro Bait Trays for ants.

Sue, that is exactly what I am going to do next year. Much better to stay longer than to wear myself out trying to crush everything in within a week. More importantly, my dentist wants to do a crown on one tooth and that will take 2.5 weeks. Same thing for my visits with grandchildren in Ohio.

It was so wet in campgrounds in Michigan and Ohio, and I had so little time free, that I did not get to clean out my underneath storage bins, nor was I able to take motorhome into dealer to get vent covers installed and get AC fan checked and relay or whatever is causing vehicle battery to go dead fixed. None of these are emergencies, but it looks like these may not get done for a while. And as usual, dealers are booking out 2-3 weeks!! Anyone know a good dealer in northeast GA?? Like near Cleveland, GA??

It is mostly sunny and hot here in West Virginia, but yesterday I was putting my bike on its rack when a thunderstorm hit. Huge lightening crack while I was holding on to metal rack! Got it hooked up and then just put new cover on lightly and ran inside, dripping wet. Took a long bike ride yesterday, but today is rest and grade papers day. Tomorrow I leave for northeastern Georgia, staying one night on the way. Not sure where yet; hard to find open campground here out east.

Made a batch of blueberry pancakes and they are ready for freezing, so if you want to stop by, it will have to be fast.
