Wet Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wet Saturday

Postby bluepinecones » Sat May 10, 2014 7:23 am

Good Morning

Rain forecast for next several days - typical spring thunderstorms. I have a few errands left but am getting like Nicky about not wanting to get wet - actually just don't like driving on wet streets.

Good news on niece; she was well enough to resume chemo yesterday.

I've been in discussion with cemetery officials for over a month. Had discovered that the marker on parents grave was badly damaged and it appeared to me that the damage was likely caused by some of the heavy equipment used by their maintenance crews. They had agreed to investigate situation and finally called me back Friday. They agreed that one of their operators had run over the marker and that they will repair/replace it but will take a while because material has to be ordered.

Got a recall notice on Honda van; will deal with that next week. No cost fix but will be without wheels for most of day.

Local strawberries are in - they are so good and so sweet didn't need any sugar. Think I've eaten close to half gallon since Wednesday morning.

I even got back to the WiiFit for past couple days. WiiFit age of 60 and 54 so that was better than I expected. However performance and scores on the simple exercises I tried left a lot to be desired. Its going to take a lot of work just to get back to where I was when I quit.

Hope all have a great day.

Sunshine Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat May 10, 2014 7:29 am

Good Morning,

Another week almost over. Don't know where they are going, but can't believe that in two weeks it will be Memorial Day already. Early this year. maybe it's cause we are having such a cool spring that it doesn't feel like the middle of May almost.

Looks like I will be heading over to dealers to get my TT this morning. They called yesterday while I was out, so need to call them back this morning. If it's ready, off I go. It's a windy day here, but can't be avoided. Tomorrow they are closed and rain is on forecast for almost every day next week again. We need to realign the hitch due to height difference of new truck, so this is the best day to do it. But I've towed in this kind of wind (10-20 mph) before, so no big deal there. Plus will give me a chance to see how the TT pulls in wind behind this new truck. But I'm chomping at the bit to get it home so I can start my "modifications" :D

Cheryl, one of the reasons the vet is giving Sassy a limited amount of the Rimadyl is because she already has some liver issues and is on Actigall for that. She also had some urinary leakage a few years ago and is on Proin for that. Rimadyl and Proin are really not supposed to be given together but for short time it's okay. Although she has been on it now for two days, I see no change in her eating habits, so it looks like a trip back to vet on Monday. But have tomorrow to see what happens. as sometimes it takes a couple of days or more to kick in or it may not be the problem. I'm beginning to think that her quality of life is starting to go down. :(

CArol, it sounds like you have made peace with your situation. I hear you about getting older and wanting to travel and not having that many years left to do it in. I feel the same way. As we get older we realize that our time on this earth is getting shorter and too many things to do.

Need to get a move on here. Want to get dressed and then make a call to dealer in half hour and if it's ready, take off. So you all have a wonderful safe and enjoyable day out there. :)

Good Morning to all.

I am waiting for Mandy and Orion to wake up so Mandy can help me get the head of another tick out from my belly. I have the needle in there, but the skin is so tough that I need her to cut beneath the needle while I pull outward with tick head and needle. This place is hideously infested with deer ticks this year. This is the second one that has had its head buried into me. Sigh. It rained all night long, but the sun is presently shining this morning. Mandy and I will sort out baby clothes this morning and put them, according to size, into bins. I finished cleaning up the downed pine boughs and old plant stems from the front yard yesterday, and it will soon look beautiful when all the new shoots come up and flowers bloom. I just wish I could see Mandy's dogs outside so I would know they are up....This needle through my belly skin is hurting a bit! I used my tick puller, but its head was too buried to come out with the tick. Sigh! I just hope that I don't get Lyme Disease from these little bastards!

Happy travels!

Good Morning Sarah, Sue and everyone else...
Oh Sue hope the pup will soon be better... do not like it when they are not eating means something is not right...

Sarah I keep praying there will be a breakthrough for niece... hard road for her and you and her sister... give niki a hug for Shadow and me.. it seems so sad that the workers did not report the damage and you had to go to bat but glad the stone will be re/pared/placed...
Carolb please hurry back here I have a living room and kitchen chuck full of the motorhome contents... I promise Wendy only half or less will be put back!!

Finally had my counseling appointment yesterday... I had saved all of the nasty e-mails from my twins... told her about the phone calls... she is called Path they will come out within 7 days and then I will have legal help to stop the girls... she said this is considered level 3 (level 3 is emotional and mental) elder abuse... they keep spreading horrid tails about me... makes me sick to think about it... good news is there is an end in sight... I learned an interesting thing from Elizabeth my counselor she said women say to her I thought I did a good job raising my children and now they turn on me... yikes sad but true... however what the twins have is the inherited mental disability from their father...

Back still bothering from the fall, doctor said up to 4 vicodin and heat... take it easy... ha ha ha thats a joke I always take it easy...

Soos the adventures with grandson #1 sound so fun... all of my grandchildren except one are grown up getting married starting their own life... time passes enjoy every minute!

Me and My Shadow are expecting Hildi (the lady that took Shadow for 10 weeks) to visit her daughter next door this weekend... She has a new dog Piper a female...

Good Morning Ladies. It will be nice and sunny here today. My son and I headed to a lake near here (Possum Kingdom) to find a spot for our 5th wheel to stay. Found a very nice place, paid for the month to start, and it will be taken there tomorrow and set up. It is a huge 37ft with 3 slides and we have a man who hauls them with his big ol truck. Today I'll be buying a mini motor home from a lady here it is an old one, but in very good shape. It will be my project so I can have a little thing that will fit just ME! Can you tell I love to RV/camp!!!

I will not be able to get to a computer for a couple of weeks. My sister will be having cateract surgery on Wednesday, and I'm going to stay with her for a couple of weeks. I worry about her and need to have all things set up befoer heading to Hawaii on the 27th. Mean while I'll be very anxious about the new little RV being alone while I'm gone. :D

OK, off to start getting things in gear.

G'morning all :)

Parked beside Beth! Had a great day in the Rushmore/Custer area yesterday, then she & I splurged and had pizza for din!!! Of course, I've been awake since the crack of dawn, but no sign of her & Peaches yet!

Soos, what a bummer about the ticks! ACK...Kathleen, really sad about your twins :( Does sound like they inherited some of their dad's issues (sorry to say, I'm going north through the UP, so I won't be in central IL). So Sue, I'll keep you posted & gtg! Sorry about Sassy--Catherine had good luck with feeding her dog people foods(chick/rice, I think) in his declining months???

Heading off to the Badlands later this a.m. Looking forward to Beth's special smoothie that she'll serve me before I go :P

Y'all have a great day, be safe always! 8-)

good morning ladies
everybody is so busy these days, thats always a good thing.
But Soos dealing with ticks, as she calls them creepy little bastards.... so do I. Hope O and the doggies don't get any.
Today is not a routine Saturday, doing laundry tomorrow and laying the new floor today. Will finish moving a few last items
over to the slide side of the room and vacuum the floor and make sure there are no last little tack heads left. Then we shall
begin :D Will be so glad to have it finished and then to begin more of a routine life.
Two weeks left of school, hooray, :D I've been so busy over the past few months I'm wondering if I'm going to even know
how to relax or if I'm going to get any anxiety kick up with nothing to do, at least nothing I HAVE to do. Guess this
will be a good test.
Thats about it from my side of the world, gonna finish my coffee and get started on the floor. :D Have a great day, be safe
and I'll check in later.

Good Morning,
Sarah, so happy to hear your niece is doing better!

Kathleen, I don't know what happened with your twins, but I am so glad you will have legal help in your corner!

Sue, sorry about Sassy's medical issues.

Carolb, sorry you had to skip Yellowstone, but Custer SP is good along with a visit with Beth! You'll have Yellowstone to look forward to another time. :)

I arrived in Washington yesterday afternoon. My younger daughter and I are going to the mall today - wasn't the plan but weather is cool and wet. We'll spend tomorrow at her house.

Have a good day everyone and Happy Mother's Day!!

Good morning everyone!

Sarah, so good to hear that your niece was able to resume her chemo. Sue, by now, you are probably already on your way to the dealer to pick up your TT or maybe you're already home preparing for the mods. I sure hope the meds help Sassy. Soos, ACK! I hope Mandy was able to get the tick head out of your belly. Kathleen, I'm so glad you are getting some counseling for the way your twins have treated you. I may not have always agreed with the way my parents raised me, but I would never blatantly treat them the way you have. I wish you a speedy road to recovery for the traumatic abuse you've been through. Ann, you're going to be busy getting your fifth wheel set up, getting your new motorhome and getting ready for the trip. Barbie, I know you always have such good visits with your daughter and I wish the same for you this week. Carol, enjoy your visit with Beth. You're in a beautiful area of the country. Hope you're taking lots of pics! Ava, you are quite an amazing lady and I've enjoyed reading your posts. I hope you're taking lots of before and after pictures. Anita, you posted the same time I did. Have a fun shopping trip with your daughter.

It's another warm day in Wilson and today will be our last day here. We just made a trip into town for a couple last minute things, among them being candy. I'm having a sweet tooth. When we got home, we put the car on the car trailer. It still needs to be secured, but one thing at a time. I made reservations for tomorrow to lay over in Ashland VA. We're pretty sure the traffic will be busy, one being Sunday and on top of that, Mother's Day. So the plan is to be home Monday sometime. Have a good day everyone!

Soos I came back to say maybe you need a round of antibiotics as ticks carry lyme disease and you do not need that ugly condition it is life long condition. There is a time span to get the drugs into your system...

Me and My Shadow wish you good health...

I had a tick embed in my lower abdomen a year ago while camping with Vickie and Phyllie in Arkansas. Phyllie pulled it out. I got sick at home about 10 days later (mild flu-like symptoms).

Went to doc after I remembered the tick bite and sure enough - it was "tick fever", although not Lyme's Disease or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (doc sent blood out to be tested for those two). Lyme's Disease scares the heck out of me.

Anyway, the bite area to this very day is still swollen and occasionally itches to beat the band.

I HATE TICKS...

Soos, be on the lookout for symptoms...

barbie, you did the most unselfish thing a Mom can do! Mine did the same thing. I often wonder about her, mostly in the last few years. Enjoy your visit!
