Lovely Thursday morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Lovely Thursday morning

Postby gingerK » Thu May 08, 2014 8:10 am

Good mornin' all!

Wow, I'm surprised to be the first to start this thread today. Usually someone else is up bright and early and I just join in later.

Laundry today then working outside before rain coming tonight. It's beautiful here this a.m.

Recently when I washed and waxed my truck prior to putting the tc on I noticed that my tires were starting to checker on the sides. Checked and sure enough all of them were getting bad. So since my DH has a buddy who works at a tire place I had him give the guy a call. Sat. morning I drop off the truck for 4 new tires. He knocked about $75 off the cost so it's under $1000 for new Michelins. Yes I know about the recall so I'll be watching like a hawk to make good and sure they are "ok".

Got to get on with some bill paying online so will have to leave for now. Everyone have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Ginger and all who follow,

I was up early, but got onto FB and into conversation with both Soos and CArol. So just now getting on here. Nice to have somebody else start MC for a change anyway.

We had rain and some thunderstorms come through early this morning, Nothing big, but first storms of the year here. Had a good soaking rain too. Not the we haven't had any rain of late, just a whole week of it last week  But it's keeping the wildfire danger down In the northern lower and also greening up everything. May have to cut grass for first time next week.

Just making a quick pass through this morning. Taking Sassy to vet in a little over an hour. She's not eating, so want to have her checked out. With geriatric dogs, you never know. So need to get myself dressed, comb her out a bit and set up her traveling bed in my truck.

So gonna wish you all a wonderful day and close out with this quote I saw in out local paper yesterday.

"If we had no winter, spring would not be so pleasant; if few did not sometimes
taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome".

Morning all. Been a busy week for me. Helped DS build a deck on the front of his wife's house, They are getting it ready to sell and the old one was in bad shape. So guess I can add that to my resume  He is out of town for a few days so he gave me some time off! So nice of him! Still trying to get things done around my house and still haven't gotten everything moved and arranged in the new rv. That motivation thing again! Or as my sister and I call it "bunny trails". Start one thing that leads into another and another etc. There's a cute video on it on Utube but don't have the link right now! It's really funny and seems how so many of my days go! Made flight reservation for a trip to CO this summer to visit with my sister. Debated about taking the rv but decided I just didn't have the time to be gone for as long as I'd want for the trip.

Kathy, I'm with you on getting out in the yard this morning. Calling for rain sometime today so need to get out and do some cleaning up out there. Sun is out now and it's a beautiful day. Looking at the time and see it's late morning already! I'm so not a morning person!

Have a good day, all. Safe travels if you are on the road and the coffee is on if anyone wants a cup!

Good morning everyone!

It's till morning on the east coast, but not by much.

Kathy, good thing you're having the tires changed on the truck and a discount to boot!

Sue, I hope Sassy is ok. Be sure to let us know.

Sharon, you're going to have quite a diverse resume at the rate you're going! LOL!

For personal reasons, I don't go to FB, but love hearing things about others here that go there, like Soos's trip back north.

It's another beautiful day in Wilson NC with lots of sunshine and temperatures will get into the low 90's. I love this kind of weather. We just got back from a long drive on some of the back country roads in the area. Lots of churches here in the Bible Belt. We're planning a trip to Smithfield tomorrow with hopes of finding a ham to take back to MD with us. Dinner will be cooked on the grill.

Safe travels to those on the road and wishing the best to everyone with health issues.

Good morning all, it is so good to be home! The pain in my leg got so bad I could not take Casey out for her walks. My daughter came and picked me up and took Casey and me to her home. While I laid on the couch, Casey had a doggy door to go in and out.
Another visit to the doctor got better results. Increased the Prednisone, the Gabapentin, and made the pain meds less strong and more often. It feels so good to be feeling better.!!!

Lyn, so sorry to hear that the back pain became leg pain became I can't move pain...... Nice to be rescued and waited on every once an awhile. Glad to know that the drug combination is beginning to work. I know Casey is enjoying the doggy door. Remi had never seen any fancy contraptions until he discovered Karen West's screen curtain. He said he liked it! :)

Wow Lynn, didn't know you were that bad, I would have come and brought you here!! You know you and Casey are always welcome here! Glad to here that you're doing a bit better, tho. Let me know if you need anything. I'm home until Sat afternoon and then gone for a week. I'll be back the 18th. Hugs GF!

Kathleen, Karen had it on her door at her home. I wouldn't recommend it for an RV because the dogs would go right through it and be gone....... Karen's small porch and lot is carefully fenced for her puppers and their guests. It is perfect without leaving a bunch of grass to move...just a gravel and a tiny green strip....Hey it is Texas where sand and gravel rule.....

Stormy day here today! Lots of storms rolled thru overnight but they all veered north or south of me. This afternoon we had one hit with just lots of rain. Now there is another storm just southwest of me that has a tornado on the ground, so am keeping a close eye on that one as it moves closer. I hear thunder again so will recheck the radar and may have to take Lola downstairs for awhile...looks like it is about an hour away yet but will keep watching as it gets closer...

Hey Barbie, stay safe!
I even drove to Wal-Mart today! Couldn't
Drive last week do to the pain. Kathleen, I love Gabapentin. Have been on it for five years since the last episode of back problems.
I also walked to the bank to get some$$$. Saw that our favorite restaurant (Mex) is gone. Darn, when did that happen?

Well, that storm just dumped a lot of rain for awhile but nothing severe. Now there is another storm heading here with another tornado on the ground. I think this one may skirt me to the west tho, hopefully!

** dodged another bad storm. Just got more heavy rain for about 10 minutes. Now all is quiet. There were three small tornadoes today but mostly in rural areas so no real damage.
