Wednesday---last day on the road!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday---last day on the road!

Postby Nasoosie » Wed May 07, 2014 6:55 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

I am about to take off for my last driving day, day number seven, to head for my daughter's house in Canton, NY. It's only about another 200 miles. YIPPEE!! It has been a long, but beautiful weather trip this year. I had to wait an extra 3 days to leave FL, as that horrible storm, whose ravages I have seen as I progress, would not quit! There is still a ton of standing water on the sites even this far north. Last night was my first night needing my heater, and, I suspect, it will be needed from now on as I plan to camp in this trailer at Mandy's. Hopefully Joe can take some time off of his job back in Saranac Lake to go home to his house, where I will be until after the birth of the baby, to back me into my spot so I can get electricity.

Sorry for my long absence on here, but I simply never seem to have enough time to repeat all the things I write on facebook, but this morning I am killing some tiime on the free WiFi at this campground so I can get back to Mandy's after her doc appointment which is not until 1:30 this afternoon. Her Verizon reception is not much good, and I am not sure if I will be able to use the internet at all while there, but we shall see.

I think of you all each day, communicate via Facebook chat room with Sue as often as possible, but am very delinquent in writing on here. I wish we could all have this group in a private room on Facebook where it would be so much easier to see, read, write, and respond to comments. But oh well---I know many do not like Facebook as neither did I for a long time.

Hope all of you are well and happy----hope to see may of you sometime down the roads, also.

Love from me and Molly and Dinah as we make our last road trek to home!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Have a safe trip Soos. I know you are going to be happy to land and stay put for awhile. And anxiously anticipate the birth of your second grandson.

As for me, I will be here puttering around with stuff. Heading to town this morning. Want to pick up the stuff I want to "modify" the inside of my trailer when it comes home from the dealers. Also banking, store and that usual stuff.

Weather here is cloudy, but no rain. Possibly a stray shower maybe today. Beth, that snow you have forecasted for your area is not going to come here. We are warming up and temps are going to be nice all the way through the weekend. More normal like, in the 60's. So I'll let you keep it all out there.

Anita, hope the winds die down so you can get around out there without being blown over. Barbie, how's the packing coming? Ava, thanks for clearing things up about the flowers.

Time to head for the dishes and then get my bod moving around here. Hope you all have a nice day out there, doing whatever you are doing. BJ, are you thinking of maybe going to the IL GTG in October?

Good morning Soos, Sue & everyone!

Soos, it's great to hear that you are so close to home. It was only a couple years ago that Steve & I met you at the KOA in Fredericksburg for a GTG. What fun we had. Have a safe trip for the last leg of your journey.

Sue, you must really be getting excited getting all the modifications done on your travel trailer and preparing for your big trip.

Our stay in Wilson NC will be coming to an end this weekend and we'll be pulling out of here Sunday. We're not anxious to get home but Dad is there and is looking forward to me helping him by taking him to doctor appointments and just sitting with him. It'll give my brother a break, as he is still going through radiation and chemo for his bladder cancer and although he doesn't complain, it's really taking a toll on his body. He'll be done with his treatments in a few weeks and then the surgery will be rescheduled to remove his bladder and rebuild him a new one.

I'm wishing all of you a great day and those on the road, be safe!

Good Morning Soos and Sue and all who come in later. Looks like it will be another warm day here. It is a little hard to adjust coming in so quickly after the wonderful cool spring weather of just a few days ago.
Sue, I have given thought to the October GTG the date sounds good, it should be lovely weather at that time of year. Guess I should check and see how soon one should do a reservation.
Soos, I guess I don't understand your feelings that facebook is easier, couldn't you just copy and paste what you write there, here on the forum, not everyone is on FB. Plus how would we ever keep track of all the activities like the get togethers? Sounds like you are having a good trip home, hope all goes well with the birth of your new grandson. I know you will be happy to see Orion.
Toby was in trouble yesterday. I let him off leash to play with his friend Wiggy down the street, well he dashed around their yard a couple of times then raced through the neighbors wide open door! ACK They haven't moved in yet but are there doing some remodeling. I went to the door and could see him taking a tour of all the rooms but the little darling wouldn't come to me. Apparently everyone was either in the back yard or the basement and didn't hear the commotion. He finally decided he had best listen and came out. I told him off leash activities are cancelled, from now on Wiggy will have to come play in our fenced yard.
The only thing I have planned today is a massage this afternoon :) If I get motivated I have multiple things to work on including a couple of dogs that could use a bath, but at this moment I'm not sure said motivation is likely to strike.
Just saw your post Irmi, I'm so sorry your dad is facing such a serious surgery. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and to you and Steve.

G'morning all! :)

Soos, good to see you here, & to hear you've had a good trip home :) . I do understand your feelings re fb vs forum. What you're saying is that ALL posts are there with one click, right? Seems that makes it easier to keep up with everybody at one time? That's why I stick to MC since I get overwhelmed trying to keep up with other topics on our forum. But yes, I'm also one of those who is not fond of fb

Anita, weather has me changing my plans also, but I know it's just meant to be. I'll skip Y'stone, due to weather. I'm waking in Bozeman to a light dusting of snow, with a winter warning in the area. But how wonderful that I was able to meet up with friends I hadn't seen in years! So now I'll keep heading east & be at Beth's in a matter of days!

Irmi, I didn't realize your dad's health is suffering??? Sorry to hear that.

And to all others, I know I've lost track of who's having health issues or hard times, but know that when I read, I send out a prayer...

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Soos, great to hear from you! Really miss your posts on here and knowing what you are up to! I don't do FB much either.

BJ, I believe it is Irmi's brother who is having the bladder surgery, not her dad.

Stormy today and tomorrow. Actually, severe storms expected tomorrow so will have to keep any eye on that.

Actually, I am not packing yet, just organizing things and getting rid of stuff. Purging, then packing! :D

Off to work, have a split shift today.

Hope you all have a fun, safe, happy day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, you are right, my brother was diagnosed with bladder cancer last year before Mom died and is still struggling with treatments.

Morning all. I visited Custer State Park yesterday and purchased the annual permit. Yep, intend to go back many more times. Did a whirlwind drive through including the wildlife loop and Needles highway with all the tunnels. I'm not exaggerating when I say I saw hundreds of mule deer and buffalo. Eventually will take a look at my pics and get a blog post done.

I've accepted a job to build a website and move a couple others, so on this rainy day, intend to work on that. Tomorrow will be back to work in the store for week two.

Soos I like FB, but find I miss lots of posts there and is way harder to organize anything. Both places have plusses and minuses, but the forum is my go to for info, especially, and to make sure I haven't missed important things. I can come on here and check all new posts in minutes. Can't do that at all on fb. FB is very time consuming and wants to be.

Irmi, I sure hope your brothers final treatments and surgery do everything they need to for him.

Good Morning Everyone !!! have been chatting with Sue, so I'm later this morning, getting on the forum. I for one, prefer the forum, over FB, maybe everyone doesn't have the problem I do, your reading one item, then try to post, another comes up, one you have already seen, which moves the item you were reading and you have to adjust it back. I can get on my IPad and find totally different items. the forum, for accurate news of friends, is much better, at least it doesn't flip around all over the place. I wonder at times, how much I miss that has been posted on FB.

Irmi, I am sorry to hear this about your brother, I somehow missed this. I know you must be anxious to get back and relieve him I'm sure you all are not looking forward to weather though, although I'm not sure what it is. Here its hot already !!!!

No real news here, wishing you all a really good day, wherever you are and whatever you might be doing,
Take care and most of all stay safe,
CArol :)

I love Custer park, looking forward to your pictures, Beth. How do you like your job so far? Better post this before more people jump in here, LOL !!!

Catching up a little with everyone. Hugs to all who are going thru tough times and also glad to read about everyone's adventures. Since I won't be cooking til I get back, I'm not looking at any of the recipes....oh wait, tGM does all the cooking  guess I'll give them to him. I'm on both FB and here and find they are totally different and both work for me in different ways. And of course, there's our blog to go to like many of our members. We are still " on the road", just a different mode of traveling. But plans are still jello here  taking a break from sightseeing and enjoying some down time in our hotel room. Bob has posted some great pics on the blog for those who are interested. Since I'm in Italy for a few more days, I'll just say "ciao"

Good morning
Thanks for checking in Soos.
I much prefer the forum to FB so here is another vote on that topic.
Niece has been feeling a little better past 2 days. Some hope for resuming chemo at end of week.
Yesterday was a very expensive one. Tree service took the tree in my yard down that was damaged in last weeks storms plus a couple of trees at house where older niece lives. Tho costly, they did do a good job of getting the trees down and cleaning up.
Bored with my to do list earlier this week, I drew a task from my job jar for something outside - clean front porch. Well it sure needed it; covered with all the winter grime and an eight inch of pollen. Looks a lot better now but the pollen just about did me in. Got everything done except for those elements that required climbing ladder - like windows and light fixtures. Maybe another day but more likely will either skip or hire someone to do it.
I've been neglecting my WiiFit lately; really need to resume that and soon.
Lots of errands today but they are scattered all over town so not likely all will get done.
Friend who just sold her house left Tuesday for LA to find a house down there.
Better get at it or even less will get done today.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Oh, I really don't like facebook at all -- even though I use it regularly. I hate the way things jump around; it's virtually impossible to keep track of a specific post. I hate the ads. I'm not happy with their privacy policies. I use it because so many of my friends, especially the 20-30-year-olds, are on it a lot, and it's a way to stay in touch.

Of course, I hated IM when it started, too!

Sarah, so glad to see your post and that niece is doing somewhat better. Sure hope you wore a mask while dealing with all that pollen, does help some, I'm told. I know about the tree stuff, sure glad they cleaned up really good for you, my story had a different ending. :o

Carold, always glad to hear from you, you are really a long ways away from us, so its so good to hear from you when you have the chance. Blog is always great too. You all give us great travels in our favorite chairs back here :D

Ok, bye again, hope the day is going well for you all,

Happy Wednesday to one and all... so many posts this morning... hard to comment on them all... Soos so glad you will have a snuggly Orion in your arms before the end of this day...
I am like you CArol post then come back and see more to comment on... So very sorry for your brothers struggle Irmi... live is hard many times... I find myself fighting against the pricks so often instead of smelling the roses...

I sent a text to my oldest granddaughter and told her I needed a granddaughter fix... wow she called this morning and we talked for an hour and a half... we sure are gabbers... She had surgery five months ago called the sleeve... she has lost 90 lb... did not know she weighed that much... she is doing great and her two children are also... they are looking to buy a 5 bedroom house just down the street from where they live... it is so exciting to hear of their lives... she is going to extend the PPO against her daughter she said it has been so peaceful without the drama... I do not have contact with my twins now either...

I did get an appointment with a counselor to work through this past winters trauma it will help...

Take care everyone let your feet walk above the storms of life...

Me and My Shadow send happy thoughts your way

Use today wisely it's all you have; yesterday is a memory; tomorrow a dream... KLW[/b][/color]

I'm stopped at Pea Soup Andersen's in Santa Nella, CA for mid afternoon meal. Travel hasn't been bad, but I hit strong wind just before I stopped. Will regroup and be ready to deal with it.

I get somewhat disgusted with FB when all the 'shares' make it hard to find the 'personal' posts. There are just too many I would lose total contact with that I don't feel I can leave it. I do prefer the forum and the 'personal' posts.

'Lunner' is here.
