Goooooood Morning Sistahs!!!!

Only have time for a quickie this morning. Hope your all doing fine today.

The first day of the weekend. Ahhhhhhhh Even tho we are going into work today it's still a good day. Work today is voluntary not mandatory so it's not so bad. And to tell the truth I really don't mind working on Saturday mornings. I guess I've just done so much of it that it doesn't really bother me anymore?

Kelly just stepped out of the shower and she needs to get dressed for work. I'm dressed and except for needing to brush my hair I'm ready to go. Kinda rough tho working evenings and then turning around and going back in in the morning. Get home at 9:pm and not go to bed until 11:30pm. Makes that alarm about the last thing ya want to hear so early. But I did set it a tad bit later, instead of getting up at 5:30, I got up at 6am. WooHoo

Ok, coffee is sitting waiting on ya'll. I've raided Barbz cupboard and gotten out the goodies. Mmmmm That cake smells yummy. Also brought some peanut butter cookies too. Found the Biscotti, but then she really didn't hide that!!!

ahhhh, saturday morning, my favorite day of the week. Coffee is ready, and
there is biscotti or apple struesel take your pick. And while your at it, grab
a banana and a yogurt, those are good for you.
Today of course will be a routine saturday for me, pay bills and do chores.
I do have to clean house today, I've let it all go all week so the kitchen
is a disaster, for shame for shame but its one of the reasons living alone
can be so gratifying, no one to complain at me.
Its suppose to be 80F today and certainly I'll find time to go out and enjoy
the sunshine, even if it means de-pooping the yard.

Good MOrning All!!

Snowy and a rather chilly +12F. out there, but the wind makes it seem way colder. I have some of this great hot coffee, a stoked up wood fire in my stove, and will have an old friend visit this afternoon----all in all should be a good day. My only chore, other than vacuuming up all the critter fur, will be to find an old picture of me to post in that 'Lost girl' link!!!

Oh yes---I also need to put a fresh battery in my bathroom scale before I step on it to see that bad news!

Quick good morning to all before heading out the door. It's my last bootcamp workout with the kids. And then the rest of the day to clean car, pack, etc for early departure tomorrow morning. The weather looks mostly clear for next few days, except for maybe rain in central CA, but that's way better than fog! Not my idea of fun to drive up highway 99 in the tule fog. Umm, coffee and biscotti sound good, maybe later. Have a fun day!

Morning...won't said good cause I woke up with a headache that won't quit! Have taken a sinus pill (cause I think the headache is allergies from moving lots of old dust around for 2 days) and I'm waiting for headache to go away so I can get my day started. I have laundry, groceries, house cleaning, rocks to rinse, and the list goes on! And here it is 10:30 already! Well, what doesn't get done today can wait till tomorrow!

Hi Everyone! Happy W/E!

I am off for my first formal motorcycle lesson today. Hope I don't kill myself LOL! Seriously, passing the test is the only remaining item on my list before departure so I hope the guy thinks I am mostly ok. Sharp turns are still hard , at least for this old dog trying to learn new tricks...

I put some nice warm (lo cal of course) cinnamon buns and hot tea on the sideboard with the other goodies. Enjoy!!

Good afternnon Jan. Hope the motorcycle lessons going well. As for sharp turns it's a matter of learning to countersteer and once you master that it's a breeze.
I still have my licence but will no longer do the big bikes but will probably get a scooter at some point.
Last summer got myself an electric scooter but if I need to go into town and travel quite a few miles it's not fast enough and it would take me all day.
So unless I decide to tow a small car, it will probably be a gas scooter.

I am bushed but I didn't kill myself and the two hour lesson was useful so we will do it again next weekend and plan for a final brush up the day of the test. I think you mean use your weight to counterbalance on turns Micheline? My teacher says only to do that above 25 km per hour. At the slow speeds (this test is at walking speed), and one must navigate 2 courses, each twice, one of which has 5 slaloms (cones set 9 feet apart that one weaves the bike through) just after coming out of a sharp curve, he kept saying look UP (!!) and not at the curve or the obstacle coming up. Amazingly it worked better! I am supposed to practice every day on private property (where I do not need a supervisor) until next weekend. I am trying circles in both directions at very low throttle. Wanted to bring the bike up here (CG) where I am legal to practice but it is pouring and I am sore LOL!! Maybe tomorrow...I am allowed only 2 'faults' on the whole 15 minute test...that is a foot down or hitting the pylons. I think I hit every one at least once yesterday . Also sharp turned so fast that I almost dropped the bike.

Realistically (as it seems I must also do the full one hour road test before I leave), I will now not be out of here until middle of March (if I can master this stuff!!). It did seem like a much easier way to get secondary transportation for someone travelling in a motorhome but who thought it would be so difficult LOL? The guy says the rules changed only 5 years ago or so and almost none of the bikers out there could pass the slow skills tests either but we newbies have to! Oh well, will keep you posted.

My bike (new to me) is a Yamaha Vino 125cc, 2005, and he now has 229 km on him LOL!! What else do you all have? This one sure goes a lot better than my previous little one (for which I needed no special icense but also never learned to corner well...)!

I have a Honda 450 cc, and love it on straight, back, country roads! However, in the city where I have to stop, and make sharper turns, and park once in a while, it scares me a bit! (NO--- make that A LOT!)

I borrowed a scooter from a friend last summer, and found that to be just too tiny out on roads where cars are going 55+ mph. I COULD, however, pick up the scooter, should it fall over....I tried it. If the 450 falls and if I'm under it, I have all I can do to get free of it and can't right it!

I've had my motorcycle license since 1962. But have barely used a bike since my Bridgestone 80cc died. I REALLY loved that bike! Perhaps I'll advertise for a used smaller cycle for next summer...or try to trade this one for another that I feel I can right if I have to. It's a loooooooong walk home on some of these back country roads if the darned thing falls over!

Soos, scooters, like motorcycles, come in different sizes/different cc's. Some would be find on the roads at 55 mph. Actually mine will go that fast, but I'd want the next size up or slightly more to do it. So, if you ever get interested in scooters, don't rule them out because of that one. They make some big scoots, too Then again, the bigger they are, the heavier they are also.
