Sunny Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Thursday

Postby asirimarco » Thu May 01, 2014 7:01 am

Good Morning to All - for the first day in quite a while we have awoken to a bright sunny sky - no clouds in sight and no roaring wind either. Wow.
By this afternoon sometime we will be pulling into our driveway. Seven months to the day since we left home. Way too many - I do hope we have hot water. Our house sitter was going to take care of the broken water heater I hope! And he called for someone to come clean up all the winter debris - we live in the mdidle of an old tree forest...
Safe travels to everyone - nothing to eat here except coffee - if your quick - as we ill be on the road soon.
hope everyones weather is starting to settle down and no damage was done.

Sunny morning here too, but showers expected on and off today. Glad you are on the final leg Carol. I know it will be nice to get back to the comforts of home.

I'm waiting for friends to come sometime today. He's going to look over my trailer and also see what needs to be done to adjust hitch to line up with my new truck. Off about 3 and half inches give or take. Next week looks like a nice warm up, so will be taking winter cover off the TT and starting to do some "personalizing" inside. Got some wallpaper border for around walls, ordering new foam for the seat cushions this morning, waiting for fabric swatch to come so I can see if I like it. Going to get some stick on ceramic tiles for backsplash around stove and sink area. Friend coming up from downstate to make some new covers for cushions for me and whatever else we get into. So things are going to be happening around here.

I too hope the weather is beginning to settle down for those of you who have been through the storms, rain and whatever else has happened. Fire in CA going too. Mother Nature is on the rampage this week. Beth, hope the winds have settled down so you can move to your summer "Home". Irmi and Steve should be starting out again for home too after hunkering down, or maybe they are already home. Soos is trying to leave FL to get home for birth of new grandson, but weather has held her back too. Last I heard, she was going to try this morning.

Off to order the foam, check other posts on here and get busy around this place. Have a nice day all.

It was sunny, but is more cloudy here along Lake Erie. Got two doctor appointments and need to pick up my bike after its tune-up today. Too wet and muddy at the back of motorhome to put it on its bike rack, so will leave it in the rental car overnight and then pull up after I pack up and unhook so I can put it on the bike rack on asphalt.

Then tomorrow after I return rental car, I am off to Ohio to visit my grandkids. Middle child, a girl, will be spending the night with me. She is just 6 and bragging about it to her brother and sister. Hope it goes well. I have a camping spot in a state park not too far from son and his family, and will be borrowing his spare car while I am there so I can run errands.

Hope the weather gets better for everyone.

Did you remember to say "Rabbits"? I did.

Haven't made it around to check on all properties yet for storm damage but think I've escaped without anything major. My house made it thru all but the very last thunderstorm Tuesday night without problems other than some water in garage, then kaboom - lightening got a large tree. Had tree service look at it yesterday; cannot be saved. I did make it down to the campground and Magic is okay. She sure does need a bath however; might get to that over the weekend. Still counting myself among the very lucky not to have had any worse damage.

My last really close friend here just sold her house and will be moving to LA at end of month assuming all goes as planned in finalizing sale. Most of my local friends have either passed away or moved to be closer to children in recent years. I will really miss her as will Nicky - her dogs are his only playmates.

Dentist appointment in about an hour so need to get moving. Hope to catch up on Liz's blogs and other happenings on here before week is over.

Have a great day.

Mornin' All,

Well, I think some of you must be hogging the sunshine-got none here today. Still can't wash and wax truck as it's raining and cold. So doing laundry instead. Never did get to grocery store, but since we're going out tonight to celebrate my son's birthday I don't have to cook! Yay!

Other than that, not much new or interesting going on. Carol, so glad you will be home soon. I'm sure everything will be fine when you get there.

Sarah, glad you had minimal damage but sorry about the tree.

Judy have fun visiting with the grandkids.

Sue, what about one of those adjustable hitches that you can move up and down to the level you need? Would that work?

Everyone have a good day and stay safe.

Good Morning, Welcome home Carol and Bill, know you both will be glad to be there this year. not sure when I might get back to N.C., but I'm ok with that for now. Not that I like it down here in the summer

I'm getting a perm this morning, hair has been a mess, think that will help loads on how I feel. I hate getting them , what a messy deal. Half way through, oh boy, almost done

Supposed to be really stormy here about 3 or so this afternoon, nothing like some have gotten, so terrible in some areas.

Have a great day all, stay safe, those on the road, please take care,
CArol :)

I said "rabbits" a little late but still hoping it works! Carol, glad to hear you are on the home stretch! What a relief after all you two have gone thru this winter! Hope life is stressfree for you both for the summer!

I have the day off but need to start in on some laundry, cleaning and organizing here. Taking my dad to another doctor appointment this afternoon. Then more organizing...

Cloudy and chilly here today but not much rain. Will be getting warmer and sunnier each day now tho.

I had to park my Jeep on the street last night. When I work late, the upper lot gets filled up and the lower lot is now a foot deep of mud and ruts, and I don't want to park in that. Lots of cars and trucks have been getting stuck in that this week. I will be really glad to get out of here! The parking garage that is under the upper lot was condemned last summer due to erosion and structural issues. Now the sidewalk in front of the main door is falling apart with several holes that go straight thru to the garage. They get bigger every day and more holes showing up. Very scary, and yet they tell me it is perfectly safe and they will be fixing it "any day now".

Well, I better get busy here before the building collapses! Ha!

Sun is out here for the time being, but it is still really cool which of course is fine with me. Supposed to warm up quite a bit by next week though.
I remembered to say Rabbits when I woke during the night, I usually forget.
Sarah so sorry about your tree and especially that your good friend is moving, I know how hard that is.
DH bought a new car yesterday with 'everything' good grief I may need a tutor to figure out how to get the door open. I was surprised when he decided on the model with all this stuff on it, he has a hard time with his iPhone so this will be interesting. I can't drive it yet as the new car smell is still bad so he is pretty much on his own. We did all the pricing and getting the amount they were willing to give us on his trade-in online. I thought we could just bop in and sign a few papers and be on our way. HA he went at 9:30 and was there until 1:30. I had met him there and left after the paperwork was done, he had to meet with a tech person who must have been new as he ran all the accessories so long without turning on the engine, he ran the battery down and they had to put in a new one. It is pretty though, it is a white Honda Civic. He was going to buy a Toyota Corolla but I suggested he drive a Honda as I had driven Liz's Honda Fit when we were at the GTG last spring and I was really impressed at the way it handled. He drove the Civic & he loved it.
Well, I need to get my ready on, need to go pick up new insurance cards so I better get off the computer.
Safe travels to those on the road and I hope everyone has a happy day.

Sunny here, but we still have wind warnings until 8 tonite. Saw on the news last nite that gusts of 90MPH were clocked on Cajon Pass. Sure was awful yesterday in Hemet with Evie. She lost her carport and is going to have to have a new roof on her house. So far everything here is ok, but there sure is a lot of rattling and banging. It was calm this morning when I got up but it's blowing something awful again. Must be getting to the Samcat, he's walking around the house crying and can't seem to settle. Not much else going on here, hope everyone has a great day.

Kathleen, I will be moving at the end of May. The apartment I am renting is vacant now and I can move in the third week of May without additional rent if I want. I have lived there before and it is a nice place.

When I was little, my girlfriend and I would collect flowers (mostly dandelions and violets) and make little May baskets and put them on each other's doorsteps, ring the doorbell and run and hide. I could never find her but she always found me! It was fun tho! Not much blooming yet around here tho

Kathleen, I hope your knee feels better soon. Glad it wasn't worse!

Just noticed a flock of pelicans on the lake here! I have never seen pelicans around here before. They must be on their way up to Duluth and Lake Superior. Pretty cool!

We do have loons around here now for the past several years. Never had them before either. This lake seems to busy and congested for loons, tho. I love to listen to them!

I forgot to say Rabbits. Barbie didn't remind me at mid night. It's sunny here too but a little cool. I almost needed a jacket while I was at the tire shop. I got 2 tires replaced so hopefully I'm good for another year.

I think I heard that it was flooding in Maryland again yesterday. Sure hope Irmi and Steve don't have any more flooding. Sarah, glad you didn't have anymore damage than losing a tree.

Sorry to hear about Evie losing her carport and needing a new roof. She sure has had some problems. One of the hurricanes tried to blow my RVport over our old house. The metal made it over but one of the poles with a big glob of cement went through the roof. We had a slate roof and they couldn't match the slate so ended up getting a metal roof.

BJ, good luck to your husband with all the gadgets on a new car. We got the basic car and truck and my DH still hasn't figured them out. He moves my steering wheel every time he drives my car and doesn't lock it back. I will be driving along and all of a sudden my wheel will move. My salesman fixed my phone so it worked through the car. That was the first thing I undid. I couldn't figure out how to make a call and if I received a call we couldn't hear each other.

Sharon, tell Samcat to get behind the door in the utility room. That's what one of my cats does. When the weather gets really bad I tell her it time for us to get in the bathtub.
