Damp Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Damp Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed Apr 30, 2014 7:23 am

Good Morning,

Won't ask where everybody is this morning. With all the different things happening with the storm system that's taking forever to leave, I know a lot of you are either under Severe Storm watches/warnings or being pummeled by rain. 14 inches in Pensecola, wow! Worried about cousin who lives there. Also wondering about Martha as I know her yard tends to flood in heavy rain and heard some areas of AL are flooded.

My agenda seems nothing this morning compared to those who have major storm issues. I'm just heading to bank, store and do a few other errands today. Rain showers expected, so no outside work. CArol, you asked yesterday if my weather is ever going to cooperate so I can get my outside work done. As is, it has cooperated over the last week and a half for the most part and I am done with my yard work for now. Can't do anything else tlll Mom Nature does her thing. Grass is getting green and temps are holding in 50's this week. Need some warm air and sunsine to do some painting out there, but that's about it. Plan to enjoy summer and not be a slave to this place.

Okay, going ot move along here. Slim pickins in this kitchen this morning. Even I had to just settle for a bowl of strawberries. Keep safe and dry every one. Those in areas of heavy rain, please report in when you can.

Morning all. Some bad weather all over the place this week. Been following some of the posts and glad everyone is safe. Have friends down in Fort Walton area of FL and hope they aren't flooded out. Texted her last night but haven't heard from her yet. We had some high winds and have more tree branches all over the yard. More pick up, just got most of it done the other day, does it ever stop??

I have to get to the store today, have been putting it off. I don't like to grocery shop, DH used to do it for us and I seem not to be able to get in the groove of going now. I do put it off for as long as I can!

Spent most of the week end and again last night at DIL's house helping get it ready to be sold. As if I don't have enough cleaning to do in my own house. I keep reminding them that payback is coming!!! When I'm a really old lady!

I did manage to get out in the new rv and get some things put away the other day. But until this rain stops I think that's all on hold for now. Want to run to Lowes to check out some slide out shelf units for the one narrow deep cupboard. Something to better utilize the space.

So with that I guess I'll find something for breakfast and a wish that everyone stays safe today.

Good Wednesday morning Ladies!

Very glad to hear from the members who were in/near the hard hit areas that you all are ok. So sad for the folks who have damage or lost loved ones.

Top of my agenda for this a.m. was to get the truck washed and started on waxing. Walked out the door to get started and darn it if it didn't start raining. So there went my morning plans. Maybe I will go to the grocery store instead, but like you othersharon, I just don't like to go. I do, however, enjoy eating so I guess I'm going to have to go!

Just wish I could get DH's pup to sleep later than 4 a.m. every night. I don't sleep well as it is and his whining to go out and potty at 4 a.m. breaks up my sleep. Guess I just have to stay up later and let him out later so he can get up later!

Breakfast is waffles, bacon, coffee and oj. Come on in and grab a plate!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning, Ladies !!! So glad to see those who are in the bad storm area post. Thinking of all of you, looks bad for several more days. Not looking good up at my home either, but neighbor hasn't called, so guess all is well. I'm not there, so its ok

Another vote for NOT liking grocery shopping or shopping period. Sure need to do something, or will be getting tickets for exposure :P

Listen to weather reports, please and all stay safe, and report in when you can.
Take care,
CArol :)

This is move on day. Our plans for yesterday's preparations changed due to the wind - which is still with us - and we went for a ride instead! LeRoy will store the RZR and then help me at storage as I load for Washington and try to seal the place up to keep some of the dirt out.

We'll drive part way to Williams today and then on tomorrow for our Grand Canyon train ride.

Certainly is a worry about all the bad weather! So far I haven't had to stay glued to FB for my Kansas daughter's posts from their tornado room.

Everyone be well and stay safe!

Good afternoon ladies! Hope you are all safe and dry today!

I just filled out an application for that apartment I looked at this morning. If approved, I will move in June 1st!
I have tons to do around here to get packed up, cleaned up and ready to go in 4 weeks! The apartment is a studio so I need to downsize some. Luckily, I don't have a lot of furniture anyways, just junk to sort thru.

The apartment faces the parking lot and street but I have a teensy weensy view of the lake thru the trees and between some houses.  Well, it will motivate me to get outside more. They have a beautiful location on a large bay and docks and a beach for my kayak. It is just a few blocks away from where I am now. I will also have a garage, and Chelsea is welcome there! Yay! And I will save $100 a month in rent. Double Yay! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbararose that sounds like good news all around. I am glad you are getting into a place you like. I lived in a studio many years ago in college. They are small.

We lucked out when the storms came through Louisiana. Most of it went North of us and we got very little rain. Just the wind for several days. Sorry to hear that Alice's house flooded. I hadn't heard anything about her in a long time. The rain doesn't look like it's moving off very fast in Florida. Hope Sarah and Wendy don't have problems where they are.

I need to go get dog food. DH goes to town almost every day but can't remember to pick up dog food. I don't like to go grocery shopping either. Can't think of anything I want to cook. If I cook what I like I eat too much. Yesterday I decided to try to make rice dressing. It was ok but not near as good as the one the local grocery store makes for their lunches. Maybe they would give me lessons.

Windy windy windy here! Had a Dr's appt in Hemet this morning so met Evie (Pooker) after for breakfast at Farmer Bros....had trouble getting in the parking lot because a street was shut down because an electric pole was about to blow over. Got in the restaurant and Evie and I told them to cook fast we didn't want the electric to go out before we got our breakfast! LOL! Evie got a call from her son right after we finished that her carport blew over the top of her house. She called me a few minutes ago that it looks like it took the roof off. Poor thing, if it's not one thing it's another ever since she bought that house. Hopefully the insurance will take care of it all. So far so good here, but Hope is in the driveway still from the Laughlin trip and that's where she's staying until this wind quits. My cover is pretty solid but still......Think the trees are gonna be ok, hopefully they won't blow over! If they do, I'll be looking for a new roof, too. This is like hurricane force winds. Glad I made it home Monday or I would be parked on the side of the hiway somewhere between Laughlin and here! LOL!

Stay safe everyone.....

The wind here is still ridiculous, but I hooked up and made it to Keystone. Still windy, but a little less here and the sun is out. supposed to be much warmer in the next couple days. Such a weird year, weatherwise.

I love Keystone and ask looking forward to all to do and see around here. I've always been in a rush, so it's nice to know I'll have time to see everything I want to. Peaches and I walked all around the touristy part of town today. Most isn't open yet, but lots getting ready. we didn't make it to the historic part of town. The chilly wind was getting to me.

I should have stopped at Wal-Mart a half hour before getting here, but after I had the rv on the road, I wanted only to get out parked again. I'll have to take a ride because I do need to shop.

I start working tomorrow. Will probably be very slow for at least a month, when tourist season really hits.

What is up with all this wind lately??

Beth, where are you working and what will you be doing there? That area should be fun to explore this summer. Lots to see and do around there. Another place on my bucket list! I've been there before but want to see more of it someday.

I'm working at a convenience store. I've gotten some strange looks when I tell people my job this summer, but I co- owned a convenience store for 10 years and thought it would be fun for a season. I'm looking forward to it. Almost as much as I am all the things I want to see and do.

I saw 20 or more deer today. I'm guessing they'll not be so obvious after more traffic is around. Right now they wander across the street as if they own it.
