Tuesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday Morning

Postby asirimarco » Tue Apr 29, 2014 6:49 am

Good Morning to All - yes we are still around. We are now in Joplin, MO only about 550 miles from home. Yesterday the driver put in a 450 miles day. From Amarillo to Joplin. too long - and he was talking about getting home today - I don't think so. And the fact that he isn't up yet means we'll stop somewhere besides home tonight. I hope. If we go too far we'll catch up with the bad weather.
Sure glad we sat out a couple of extra days in Amarillo and didn't get in the middle of yesterdays weather. Hope all of you who are in that path are safe and sound.
Have some cinnamon and raison bagels with honey nut cream cheese and coffee. But we'll probably go out to breakfast at the Petro's Iron Skillet across the street before we hit the road.

Carol,

Glad to hear you & the driver are almost home and good thing you decided to come up after the storms instead of during. Tell the driver to take it easy. He's still recuperating.

Save travels for the rest of your ride home.

Good Morning Carol, Cheryl and all who follow,

Glad to see you post this morning Carol, as I was wondering where you were. Very wise decision to stay in Joplin last night. You certainly wouldn't have wanted to go farther into the storm area. As was, even Jopiin was in path of tornado the evening before. May as well wait it out another day as rain is going to make driving difficult and storms are still around ahead of you.

Another round of storms and tornadoes last night again. Glad to see that Sarah and Wendy are okay, was worried about you. Hope others who were in path of those storms check in on the Tornado thread. Especially BJ, Kathleen and Gingerk as I heard some areas of IL got hit last night. Another day of such is in picture for today and heading toward the east coast. Irmi and Soos are both on the road I believe up the East coast unless Irmi and Steve are home now. But I know Soos will still be out there. Ernie and Lori are in GA and that's next on the storms list. keep safe all of you.

Pouring rain here this morning. So will be inside, cleaning house and catching up on some online stuff. Have so manhy notes for ordering RV stuff, have to go and organize them, then get busy. Did get a small compressor at Sears yesterday, so am all set in that dept. No luck on fabric for TT seats as yet. Am searching for rustic type décor fabric and it's not easy to find. Will look some more today. I can find it in regular material but want upholstery fabric.

Off to start the house cleaning here. Please stay safe those of you in the storms path and keep eye and ear on the weather. Ev

good news about my grand niece... when she got to Pittsburgh Children's Hospital
they had a different diagnosis for her.. Kawasaki disease... it is the lesser of two evils
this morning she is doing much better yesterday they did tests on her heart I guess
that is a big problem side effect with this disease... and praise the Lord it was okay
my niece said this morning on Facebook that she was on the road to recovery.. thank you all for your prayers... prayer does work! Have a fun day and stay safe donna

All is well here, we got lots of rain yesterday afternoon and on Sunday but no winds. We needed rain, just not so much! I lost a couple of branches from my huge lilac bush. I have never seen as many blossoms on it, so the rains added weight broke off some good sized limbs.
Having an asparagus and cheese omelet for breakfast, plenty for all so help yourselves. The dogs are waiting in line.
So sorry for those in the areas where the storms hit. Take care all and Carol, I hope the driver slows down a bit for the home stretch.

Good Morning !!! Donna,, I am so sorry to hear about the little one, sure hope she is well soon. Will keep her in my prayers. Sue, are you ever going to have days you can work outside ?? You are such a busy lady all of the time, wish I could get around you enough to have some of that energy and ambition rub off on me  Carol, I am sooooo glad to hear you all are so close to home and hopefully will miss this stormy stuff across the country now. Glad Bill is doing better but hope he isn't pushing himself to much .

We have nasty stuff coming in here today and rest of the week, but they are promising all the REAL bad stuff will be warn out by the time it hits here. But as all weather reports, we have to wait and see what we get and how right they might be. Thinking of Sarah and Wendy in Al today and others there. So glad to hear from those in Ark, and Ok, that they were ok. Some nasty stuff out there, stay alert , all of you in the area they forecast storms in today.

Laundry and bills to register and one to call about, not really a fun day  but if I go ahead and get it all done, be smooth sailing after that, ready to set out the storm, which Maggie does not like.

Have a good day all, stay safe Please ,
CArol :)

Yikes! 33 and snow here! Seriously??? And it is blowing sideways! We have had about 2 inches of rain per day for the past 3 days so things are flooded around here some but nothing too bad. Feel bad for the guys out there putting docks in right now. Nasty cold miserable weather for that but everyone wants their dock in yesterday! Will be 60 and sunny by Saturday tho.

Still hemming and hawing about giving my notice at my apartment here. Have to do that by tomorrow night, if I decide to. Really hate the thought of moving  .

Carol, tell Bill to take his time, the house will still be there next week. Between the weather and his health, he needs to slow down! Another day or so on the road won't hurt any.

Glad those of you south of here are OK. Scary stuff! I can't imagine not having basements to go to for safety. I think the reason bathrooms/laundry rooms are safer is because of the plumbing makes it stronger and more secure around it. A lady survived one of the tornadoes yesterday by laying in her bathtub and the rest of the house was destroyed around her.

Have a good day and stay aware and safe!

Good morning everyone!

Carol, it's good to see you are so close to home and I agree that you should take a couple days to finish the final leg of your trip. Sue, I hope you find the fabric you're looking for so you can get the seats reupholstered. Donna, that's great news about your grand niece! I hope she continues to recover without any set backs. BJ, so glad to hear you weren't in the middle of the storms. CArol, bills were on my agenda for today, too. Barbie, you're getting snow? But like you said, it'll warm up. Have you found another apartment yet that you'd like to check into? So glad to hear that Sarah and Wendy are ok and hopefully the storms today will miss them again. Beth, I hope the winds have died down for you.

Steve & I are in Wilson NC and will stay here through the weekend. There is a chance of severe storms moving through the Carolina's this afternoon, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that they miss this area. We're hoping the temperatures, especially the night time temperatures, warm up a little more before we head home. So we may stay here an additional week.

Everyone, please stay safe, especially if you are on the road.

Carol, glad to hear from you. send tell Bill I agree that he should take it easy. not that he'll listen to me :-)

I'm in my 3rd day with 50+ mph winds. So hoping they are right and the winds will be down to 30-40 mph by tonight and only getting into the 30's tomorrow. Still need to take Peaches out this morning and can't convince myself to do it. She'll convince me soon.

Irmi, I can definitely understand taking extra time heading north!

The problem is I have to give notice by the 30th, but won't know what is available until the 1st. I guess I could always retract my notice a day or so later if I can't find anything I am interested in.

Maybe it is this weather that has sucked all the energy and motivation out of me, but I don't feel like doing anything.

Luckily, all the rain we have had the past several days wasn't snow. We'd be buried alive, if it was!

Good Morning everyone... wow very glad you are all safe... As some or most men The Driver has a mind of his own... it is stuck in go... just hope he rests in before striking out this morning...
I think I am glad to be home even if it is windy rainy and cold... my grandson and his wife are coming after work today and will get the rest of the things out of the MH... I have an appointment Next week Tue to get the roof fixed... glad it is just a mile or two down the road...
Shadow has not been itching for several days so the battle of the fleas may be won!! my face is healing now but has deep wrinkles from the swelling...
Oh Donna no matter the prognosis it is very hard to see little ones suffer... continuing to keep her in my prayers...
Glad you and Steve are hunkered down Irmi... no need to hurry home to more work...
My son's daughter Joy got engaged to her fella of 4 years on Sunday... boy my grandkids are all getting their lives in place... so much fun to watch them...
Take care everyone and lets hope the weather settles down to melt the snow up there Barbie...

Mornin' All!

Much nicer day here today, sun's actually out! Not as windy. Glad to hear everyone made it through the storms ok.
Not too much on the agenda today, kind of a free day for me. Might make a run to Wally World later this afternoon.
Carol, glad to hear you are nearing home. As the others said, take it easy no rush (I know, who can tell a guy what to do?)
Donna, glad your grandniece is doing better, that's way scary!
Kathleen, glad your face is better.
Sue, hope you find the perfect fabric!
Barbie, wow-if I saw more snow I think I would move south! I know you must be way sick of it away up north there!
CArol, hopefully the storms fade out before they reach you. The weather forecasters say they are spinning around for a second hit on the same areas-those poor folks.
Beth do they ever think the winds are going to slow down where you are? Makes it really hard to get anything done I imagine, let alone travel. Someone on my fb page posted that their truck and tt were blown over in the winds yesterday and that they were at the hospital. Haven't heard yet if they were ok, sure hope they were.
Irmi you hunker down and keep safe!

Everyone have the best of days!

Oops, spoke too soon-here comes the clouds and rain again! Drat!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

OMGosh, Ginger, I hope they are ok. I just was almost blown over more than once out there, literally, walking - and a Class A was hooking up their car to leave. I don't understand people. We're next to a truck stop and I've noticed several trucks who aren't going anywhere - and we know that costs them money. It is supposed to lessen a bit after 6 today - which is why I'm hoping that bit will be enough to get me the short distance I need to go tomorrow. It's only a short distance, but the winds are much less there - and I'm supposed to start working Thursday! But if the winds are like today - I will not move.

Kathleen, I wonder if your face was also because of the fleas and then the treatments to get rid of them. Very possible. But glad both seem to be better!

Barbie, have you even looked and talked to places you might be interested in. Even though they don't know "for sure" they often have good ideas of whether they'll have anything opening up. I'd hate to see you without a place to live. Oh, and I have snow on my rig and car at the moment. Not much - but it's there.

Actually, I have been in contact with several places I have had in mind. In fact, one place just called and said that someone's application was rejected and the apartment is available again so I am going to look at it tomorrow morning. It is also on the lake but not facing the lake (which makes it cheaper!).

I also got in touch with a "ferret" friend who is willing to take Chelsea for a month until I move out of here. There is a $1000 fine if they find out I have a ferret here  . Am worried they will see her when they show the place to prospective renters. This other place will allow me to have her there. I have lived there before and know several people who still live there. And the manager likes me! :D And they have safe garages! And the building is not falling down...
So hopefully, that will work out! Will know by noon tomorrow!

Crossing my fingers and toes for you, Barbie - sounds like you might have it figured out! Serendipity!
