Sunny Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Sunday

Morning all,

Sunshine this morning. Chilly, only in upper 20's. Will work outside after I get home from church and run to store. Supposed to rain for next 4 days, so want to finish up the yard pick ups.

Spent the day at the RV dealers yesterday, well part of it. Was fun going through new rigs and looking a different floor plans, but always went back to the one I have. Fits me for now. Few modifications and it will be all set. Since it's lightweight (3500 # loaded) should be good towing, especially at todays gas prices ($3.85). Plus like Tina says, sometimes the money in the bank.....
Friend is coming up to make new covers for back cushions as I am going to order the foam today and then also go to fabric store for Dacron and see if they happen to have the pattern I saw on their website. Or may just order the pattern and pick it up at store.

Carolb and Beth, glad you two are staying out of harm's way with the weather on your travels. Beth, glad you made it to SD. If trip gets off the ground, will make it a point to look you up. Carolb, are you coming through MI on your way home by chance? JudyJB, going to miss not seeing you this year. Maybe later on the road someplace, who knows. But enjoy your stay downstate.
Barbie, sorry to hear you may be moving again, but I can understand why. I would be uncomfortable knowing there are saftey issues in that place. May be good to give notice and then start looking. Lots of places tend to change in spring and summer. I'm sure you will miss watching the lake though unless you find something else on the water. irmi, hope you finally got on the road. Soos is supposed to be heading north too, but not sure what day, maybe today.

Have bacon, eggs and strawberries for breakfast this morning, if anybody interested. Hope you all have a nice Sunday. Keep eye on weather, looks like a nasty storm moving across country.

Good Morning Sue and Lori and all who wander in later. I slept well between doing battle with a very LOUD bird in the middle of the night. I woke up to the racket and thought it might be dawn but no, it was 2:30AM. Kept thinking it would shut up but it didn't so I got up and of course the dogs had to go out. When I took Winnie out the front the racket was so loud I decided it must be in the Holly tree right next to the steps. I picked up the broom I keep on the porch and gave the tree a big whack. Heard a whirl of wings and then silence!! Years ago when I lived on a farm we had a Mockingbird that decided to serenade us all night. After about three nights we were desperate and standing outside throwing sticks and rocks toward the sound. Finally one morning around dawn, I went out on the steps and saw it sitting on a fence post. I ran back in, woke DH and said get your gun! He staggered in a half sleep daze to the steps and fired off his shot gun. He missed but must have been enough to convince the bird he best vacate the area. The next weekend I saw my closest neighbor and she looked really tired, she started complaining about this bird that was keeping them awake all night.

Time to feed the dogs and get ready for church. The youth group had what they call Cardboard City last night and there will be a lot of sleepy adults who chaperoned the event. They build shelters out of cardboard boxes and sleep outside all night to raise awareness about homeless people. They have a campfire and watch a video about homelessness. The TV stations usually give it good coverage. It is also a fund raising event for the local shelter.

Hope everyone has a safe, fun day.

Good Morning Ladies !! I'm packing to go back up to my sis, will leave RV here at DD's. Sure have been enjoying her pool. Have another dr visit tomorrow. This will be the telling point of whether I have a summer I've got planned or the fall back plan. I feel I see good, but eyes have to be some correct number and I will get form as to what mine are. Here's hoping.!!!

In the meantime must get things packed to be at my sis for week or so, whenever it's convient for one or the other to transport me back here. Gotta love these circumstances !!!

DD says we'll have a good swim before we leave, so got to get moving so I can jump in too  Only an hr or so drive, both ways, enough to mess her last day off, I don't like this fact, I remember those work days and days off were never enough.

Have a great Sunday , seems some might have some nasty weather, stay safe !!!

Oh, CArol, here's hoping your eyes are where you need them to be.

Peaches and I both managed to become muddy messes on our walk this morning. It looked solid enough, but ... So there we were in the freezing cold wind, getting her paws washed, my shoes washed, etc. Couldn't figure why I couldn't get warm after we'd been in and I'd even had a hot chocolate. Duh, my socks were damp. Got them changed and am starting to warm up.

Pretty much will be a lazy day. See how many books I can read.

Cold and windy in Michigan, even if it is partly sunny down here. Heading off to visit my niece in Chelsea, and also stopping by a couple of hardware stores to see if I can get some sort of replacement loop for my shower--the thing that holds the hose for my shower wand. Last fall, I camped with older son and he bathed kids in shower. Afterwards asked if I normally removed the hose from the loop. Duh. No, it is a loop and the hose is not meant to be removed from it. He had apparently thought it was, so yanked on it and broke it. I have been gluing it, but it never stays fixed, so trying to find a replacement.

Also, going to buy same son a curled hose to use just to flush his tanks in his trailer. He has been attaching water hose to flush opening. They do not drink the water, but they could if he would sanitize it and use a separate hose! Another, duh. His wife saw me drinking my tank water and said, "Look, she drinks her water and hasn't died yet."

Had a very nice dinner with old friends yesterday. Tomorrow another friend is taking me to dinner. Wanted to go to the Detroit Institute of Arts tomorrow morning, but may just be too tired. It is one of the best in the country, so if you come to Michigan, don't miss it. You will be pleasantly surprised. Almost all the art was donated or bought in Detroit's heydays of the wealthy auto barons in the early 20th Century. They added a large addition to the building a few years ago, and I have not seen it. http://www.dia.org/

One of their room-sized art works is the huge mural by Diego Rivera of the auto industry. My grandfather worked as a supervisor in the original Highland Park plant and in the Rouge Steel Mill from 1915 - 1948. He actually knew Henry Ford and Harry Bennett (the head "goon" at Ford), so when I go to look at the mural, I am almost certain I can see him there as one of the workers.

A thunder storm woke me up about 6:00 this morning. I thought the rain had moved off but it's thundering again. The wind must be about 25 mph. I have to watch that the wind doesn't catch the storm door and jerk it out of my hand if I go out.

Judy, it's a good thing your son and his family don't drink the water in their trailer. I am always leery about where a water hose at a dump station has been.

I put together a new cat tree for the cats. I was hoping that a more expensive one than the $40 one from Walmart would be stronger. Wrong! It wasn't up an hour and they had knocked it down. Now I have it tied to the wall.

There is a big music festival going on in Lafayette. I would go if I could park close and bring a chair. I'm not going to try to bring a chair on the shuttle bus and fight that fight. The crawfish festival is next weekend and that's another parking nightmare. There will be a traffic jam on I-10 of people trying to exit at Breaux Bridge.

I made the Red Lobster biscuits for lunch. Sam's sells the mix in a big box with three batches. I see that Walmart has a smaller box. If you have never tried them they are really good. I had to make some for my grandson every week when he was here. He loves bread. The only thing he ask for when we went to the grocery store was a baguette.

Rain, rain, and more rain  ! Been raining heavily all day with more heavy rains overnight coming. Also high wind warnings and thunder storms. Wind was really howling all night last night rattling my windows. At least we aren't getting the really severe stuff they are down south of us.

We are in the middle of a thunderstorm right now. It is chilly in my apartment so I am hunkered down on the couch with a blanket, sweater and my faux fireplace/space heater running. Getting cozy in here!

Hope everyone is staying safe and dry today!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
