Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat Apr 26, 2014 7:32 am

Good Morning All,

Couldn't think of a good title for today's MC, so just left it at Saturday. Cloudy and cool here with a few snow flurries around. I haven't seen any, but radar is showing some in area. Will clear out later.

Fun day planned for me today. Heading to RV dealers open house. Anytime you can go to RV dealers and browse, have refreshments, hot dogs and door prizes, plus 15% off in showroom, it's a fun day, right :D Not looking to buy a rig or anything, but always like to look.

Need to get a surge protector and a backup assistance of some kind. Been reading some of the older posts on here regarding protectors and backup cameras. Kind of leaning toward the Progressive protectors. Wireless backup cameras, well, after reading some of the results some of you have had with them, might nix that idea although there are newer ones out now. Also need to get in TT and measure for new foam on dinette seats since the foam in there is not worth sitting on. Bottoms out too easy. Then get material to make new covers for cushion backs. Seats can stay as is, just new foam. First need some cooperation from mother nature to get in and do stuff. Too chilly with highs in 40's and low 50's doesn't cut it.

So, time to get moving here. Fund raiser breakfast at the local township fire dept. near here, so going to go have some pancakes and then head out. Read that my favorite state park lost 400 trees to the Emerald Ash borer this spring, so want to swing by there and take a look see. They have been planting new trees but it's going to take them time to grow. Otsego where I used to work is felling a large number of oak trees as well due to the oak wilt disease.

So you all have a wonderful day out there. Be safe if on the road.

G'morning Sue, Kathleen & all to follow :)

Glad to hear the news of your "recovery," Kathleen! Sue, can we believe that you're not going to buy a new rig?? Have fun at the show....

Irmi, sorry to hear of the glitch in your travel plans...on your way today??? Sharon, lotsa cute butts????

Raining here--pulled into Utah Lake SP yesterday a.m. Spent all day watching the storm s l o w l y coming across the lake. Gorgeous! Full hookups, spacious sites, paved pads, covered picnic tables at each spot (I would call them "cabanas" but then that would get Mitch in a tizzy thinking of her search for the perfect "cabana boy"  )--only #25!! I'll bet I have 25 ft on each side of my Trek!!! And I'm right on the lake!!! Hmmm, should put this on CG topic...Check out time not til 2 p.m., so will hang here & watch the birds play in the rain...

Hope y'all have a great day & be safe always! 8-)

good morning ladies
normally I would say its a routine Saturday but it is not. Its nice and cool today and I'm taking advantage of that to get the shed
rearranged and organized and a few things brought in that I've been searching for, a few other clothes and toiletries and some
other items that belong inside. Got the patio stuff out and set up for now but of course that will change too. Need to place my
washer and dryer where I want it for hook up but not hooking up just yet. Too many other things to do and I can always utilize
the laundry over by the clubhouse. Will plan laundry for tomorrow. Also need to go to costco and gas up, stop at sons to deliver
some empty sterilite drawers I no longer need. I feel like I have a pretty busy day planned. Still working on the edge of carpet
by the slide, thats a long tedious process cause the carpet is thick right there and very hard to cut with the razor blade. Brought
in my wire nippers and thought I'd give that a try, ya never know. The rest of the room is done as far as the clean edge part goes.
I have lots of projects on my list but won't bore you with all that. I'll just tell ya as I go along, gives me a busy summer to look
forward to. :D
Maggie is lovin it all and kitty is....still on the shelf but happy.

I put my ladder up with a blanket to intice her to come down. I think she did once, last evening as Maggie and I felt something jump
up on the bed and promptly jump down. Maggie looked but didn't move. I think Kitty saw she was face to face with "a dog" and ran back
up. I got up and Kitty was up on the shelf meowing at me.
Btw, I put that shelf up long time ago to hold my tubs of yarn as I saw that "cathedral" ceiling as wasted space. A friend of mine's husband
is a contractor and he's coming over sometime to redo the shelf in oak trim and I have laminate flooring to do the shelf itself. Kitty's litter
box is at the other end where I can reach it from the step of the bathroom.
Enough from me today, back to work, coffee break is over :D Ya'll have a great day.

Good Morning,

Very windy as predicted and some showers during the early morning hours.

Ava, I love how you are getting all settled in! Kathleen, glad you are better! Irmi, nice to have 'wiggle room' when problems crop up - have a safe trip home. Carolb, nice find on the SP!!

Sue, if you haven't already seen my vote for Progressive Industries, I'll add it here! LeRoy and I got backup cameras from http://www.Tadibrothers.com and are more than pleased. You might have a look at their site to see what they have. I know the longer distance between transmitter and monitor is a problem.

We had a great desert ride again yesterday. The reptile of the year seems to be the desert iguana. We have seen several, but only 1 previously and that was two years ago. Really missed a great photo op when we saw a quail perched atop a saguaro among the blossoms. Not much blooming now except the saguaros and the palo verde trees.

Been playing too much so this is catch up on chores day. Brought things from storage that have to be put away along with usual stuff.

Have a good day all and be safe on the road!

Good morning, everyone.

Lovely Saturday morning here in KS. A little rumble of thunder with some rain earlier. Guess we've got more coming in for tomorrow. Not sure I could give up thunderstorms for the beach permanently. ;)

Came back from Cali Monday night - went to work 6 hours after arriving. Need to learn to allow myself some time to rest up after vacations!

Anyway, made it through the week. Last night I started to cut up the dead tree that the power company left in my yard after trimming it away from the power lines. Decided it was a bigger task than I could do so called a hauling company. They made a reasonable offer & hope to get it done this afternoon. It'll be good to be able to cut my 12" grass.

So much going on here - love to see everyone's travels, hunkering down, etc. Glad to see Ava getting settled - lots of work ahead but bit by bit it's getting done. Looks like food will be a primary focus at the midwest GTG - so glad I'm in on that one! :D

Well, better get busy... take care,
Catherine

I was a little later starting out this morning than I wanted to be. I can get going quickly when I've already got the car hooked up. But when the temps are in the 30's, I just decided to hibernate another hour. It worked. They hit 40 for me to go out and hook up. Luckily I only had a couple hundred miles because the last 50 or so I felt the wind increasing. Not to much. I arrived here in Box Elder ( just outside Rapid City) about noon. And the winds have kept increasing. Plugged in thy tour cable but am only getting a few over the air channel. Just put my cable away. No need to have it to do, most likely inn the rain, sleet, if nothing is coming on it. Watching for the camp host to come home so I can get their WiFi code. Then I can get some other online work done.

Carol, the couple Utah state parks I've been to have been nice.

Ava, you just keep moving right along.

Everyone traveling, watch your weather and stay safe.

I really missed thunderstorms when I lived out there too.

Ava, cats like to be in high places. Makes them feel safe and secure. The "cat whisperer" on TV told people who had issues with their cats, to build shelves up high for their cats and it worked to make them behave and calm down a lot.

The day started out nice, warm and sunny today, but now a cold front is coming thru and the winds have really picked up and rain is right behind it. Rain is in the forecast for the next 8 days! No kayaking for me for awhile yet :( .

Am thinking of giving my 60 day notice at my apartment next week. There are a lot of (safety) issues here that I am not happy about. I hate the thought of packing up and moving again but I really don't like living here anymore. The place is in major disrepair and they don't seem to want to get anything fixed. I know they want to eventually tear these down and build expensive condos, so they don't want to sink any money into them now. I have several days to think about it...

Hope you are all having a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning all, same ole, same ole weather here. Along with the "back", I now have a horrible cough, cold! Saw the doc and was put on Prednisone and given pain pills. Gads, what next?
All you travelers on the road, stay safe. Looks like some seriously bad weather going by!
Hey Catherine, could you repeat your PM in simple English!
Judi, has the awaited Grandson made himself present yet?
