Good Tuesday Morning, Ladies...

Up again at 3:30am..... Oh, well, such is life...good thing I like naps.... ;)

Easter weekend was a total wash out here....Rained right thru to Sunday early evening, but the sun did get to peek thru before it set....yesterday was beautiful!! and today the warm up is coming....the "nats" are still pretty bad, but we're surviving..... ;) and I just can't wait for the mosquitoes...  But we did stock up on repellents. ;)

Finishing up on the crochet projects and after we get the move over next week back to the Gettysburg, PA area, will get the counted cross stitch stuff out for the summer...it's a lot cooler to work that in the summer months... ;)

Okay, will set the table with coffee, of course, and some mini blueberry muffins this morning....help yourselves and enjoy!!! :D

Have a great day, all...

Good morning Lori, Donna & everyone!

Lori, thanks for the blueberry muffins!

Donna, have a fun day, whatever you decide to do!

Sue, have a safe trip home.

We started off a little on the cool side this morning, then a really heavy, but short lived fog, rolled in. The sun has since burned through and we'll get into the high 70's today. We plan on going to Aldi's today, gas up the car and make a run to the beer store. I think tomorrow we'll put the car on the trailer and strap it down to prepare for our trip north. We'll probably spend lots of time outside to take advantage of the beautiful weather. Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, take care and be safe.

Pretty day here in IL, but cooler. Not as nice as over the Easter weekend.

Today is changing the sheets day so I'm getting that going. Moving a little slow this a.m.

Breakfast was coffee and bagels with strawberry creme cheese. Help yourself!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Another pretty morning here. Gonna rain the rest of the week which is fine. We need it. The lake completely opened up yesterday because of the high winds. It is nice to finally see open water! Even saw a boat go by late last night!
Here are some pics to give you an idea of how big Lake Minnetonka is... (lots of small, medium and large bays all connected by channels.)

Golf starts in 2 weeks! Yay! Will get my kayak from my dad's in the next week and bring it back to my place. Will have to find a safe spot for it here.

Hope you all have a great day! :D

Good Morning Ladies... a bit cooler this morning but pretty sunshine...
Shadow still has fleas but they saw no eggs in his poop for tapeworm... the vet said the only way to get rid of the fleas is to vacuum and vacuum some more also move everything when I do it... not gonna happen in my lifetime...
He will sleep in his kennel from now on... he likes it anyway... I will leave the door open as he likes a drink of water in the night... I will keep my bedroom door closed... he weighs 18 lb which is perfect for him...
I woke up well not woke up as I didn't sleep at all, with swollen eyes the right one is almost swollen shut...
Sounds like Irmi and Steve are getting ready to head north... hope the weather is good...
Soos when do you go? Sue hope your trip down to the lower pen was good...
Take care everyone... smile often

Kathleen, when it warms up fleas are an ongoing problem. There are some granule poisons that you can spread in your yard. The halls in our barn are dirt so I spread it in the barn too. If I don't kill them in the barn they will get on us and we will bring them in the house. At least the house cats don't go to the barn to pick up fleas so that helps. I have also used a powder that you sprinkle on carpet and vacuum up.

Barbie, that lake looks like a place you could get lost in.

I'm getting cabin fever. I don't really need to go to town but could go walk around Walmart. I know, that's sad. The other option is clean house and I don't want to do that.

Kathleen, I use the once a month pill Sentinel, for fleas, heartworm and other worms except flea tapeworm. I don't use a topical in addition to that as some people do for ticks. Sentinel does not kill the flea, but it makes them sterile so you don't keep getting more. Bathe Shadow in baby shampoo, Dawn or Ivory dish soap, all will kill fleas. Sprinkle the coarse Morton Kosher salt on your carpet leave it overnight and vacuum. The salt will kill the fleas. You may have to do it a couple of times to completely rid the house of them, is there someone you could get to come in and vacuum for you for a few days?. You don't want to keep using various toxic products as you and Shadow could both have health problems.

It is cooler here today and I like these temps much better. We have been near 80 and that is too hot for my liking. Nothing on my agenda for the day so I finished Andy's summer hair cut and took Toby for a walk. I also signed up for a 14 day free trial on ancestors. com, not doing so well with it, I find the site somewhat confusing.

Barbie do you have bridges over all that water it looks like several tiny islands on the map you posted.
I hope everyone is enjoying their day.

Yes, lots of bridges to get around the lake! There are some small islands and one big one (called appropriately, Big Island), but no bridge to that one. Lots of boaters park there to play and party tho! There is a very large island across the bay from me and that has a causeway on one end and a bridge on the other end to get on it. Lots of homes over there.
My apartment building is actually on a peninsula with water/marsh on 3 sides.
It can be very confusing to find your way around by boat. I know a lot of the "lower lake" where I grew up, but the "upper lake" I am not too familiar with and would easily get lost around there if in a boat. You really have to learn your landmarks! Night boating is really challenging with all the channels and shallow areas marked with bouys that are hard to find unless you know where they are. I have lived around the lake most of my life and still don't know the names of many of the bays. The little bay I grew up on is very secluded and many people who have lived out here all/most of their lives have never heard of it.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
