Back in ;the US

We've actually been here in southern Arizona for a couple days. The morning of my last post Bill got up and we put in a marathon day. A little over 500 miles on Mexican highways - through several check points and the border crossing. Left Los Mochis at 9 got to AZ at 8. We are staying here until middle of next week.
Yesterday Bill went to see a doctor here and he still has signs of infection, inflammination and blood in urine. So some was sent out for culture and maybe his meds will be changed though the results stayed the same as they were one week ago in Mexico. So it is not getting worse. But doctor strongly suggested he go to our doctor and urologist as soon as we get home. She will call us Monday or Tuesday with the results of culture. So will know more then.
In the mean time he is feeling good but tires easily - after a 500 mile day I'm not surprised.
Don't know if I mentioned but the day before we left Mazatlan our refrigerator quit working. Luckily it was an easy fix - just bypassing the recall fix that was done last year. But that was the "straw that broke the camel's back" so to speak. We were on the road the next morning.
He spent over 25 days in hospital between the two sessions! Our Blue Cross insurance covered it all. The cars transmission had to be replaced. The Alfas windshield got cracked (got it fixed there and it is holding so far) Any way it was an interesting winter.
Going home will depend on the weather some what - not sure which way we'll go - fastest is up through Oklahoma City to Tulsa and across Missouri, Illinois and into Indiana. We'll see.
Still keeping the blog up.

Welcome home! Bet it is such a relief to be back, altho it seems you and the Driver got pretty good medical care in Mx. Please please keep us posted on how he's doing and what the diagnosis here is.

So glad to hear things are the same, not worse. Of course would like to see improvement, but time and rest, not marathon days!

Speaking of fridges, I think my two thermometers (one in fridge, one in freezer) are two of the three things I've discovered didn't make it from the old rig to the new. Have already replaced the thermometers.

I'm in Casa Grande for the next few days if you come this way.

Hi Carol, Happy to hear that you and Bill arrived back with no additional worries. As much as I love traveling and being in other countries, I am always grateful when the immigration officer says, "welcome home". Peggy

Welcome back! Hope you have outrun that black cloud that has been following you this winter. Hope the driver gets better each day and you have no more cracked windows, etc.

WOW there is nothing like being back in our homeland!! I was reflecting back on all of the many accomplishments and hurdles you climbed this winter Carol... You are one brave lady... so proud that you had the fortitude to go up those mountains and see the other side... you are Bills best asset... keep him safe and encourage him to rest... his body will heal faster if he allows himself to slow down when he feels the rush coming on...
If you get anywhere near Normal Il on your journey home message me and I will give you my phone number... would love to meet two of the answers to prayer...
