Monday and Spring is Still Hiding

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday and Spring is Still Hiding

Postby IrishIroamed » Mon Apr 07, 2014 7:04 am

Mornin' Ladies! Spring is still hiding, but at least trees are starting to bud and I can see my Moana Loa lilies are popping up (about 1" now).

Had a quickie / mini-gtg yesterday and got to meet GingerK and her friend that are going to the Sept gtg in KS. I think those 2 may laugh a lot and guessing they will fit right in with the KS mayhem.

Only a few donut holes & coffee for breakfast. Where's Lori? Miss her morning cooking :D

Have a great day everyone & if you're on the road stay safe.

Good morning ladies
Been absent a few days so will take a while to catch up.
Been dealing with aftermath of stressful excitement last week. I still own the house where my husband and I lived most of our married life and the one next door that was his mother's. One is rented, the other empty. These are older (c 1940s) , small houses in what is normally a quite little neighborhood. However that was not the case in wee hours of Thursday morning as police were called to a domestic dispute across the street from my house. The man shot at police and ran across the street between my two houses. More shots and an officer was wounded; swat team called in. My renters are two young women in their 20s and they were trapped in the house as gun fire continued. The gunman was killed but not before several shots hit the house and their cars. Needless to say, they are still pretty shook up.
All this was followed by a tornado watch and heavy rains.
More flooding rains last night. I did get down to campground to take them my keys just in case. However the river is low so no flooding expected at Ditto, thankfully.
So glad to read that Ronnie is doing better and Ava is nearing her move. Now off to catch up on other news.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Top 'o the mornin' all! Up bright and early (is it morning yet?) and off to breakfast with DH and a bunch of friends-good food, great conversation, such fun! On the way home hit up Menard's-my fave store for some electical items for the TC.

Cheryl, I'm so glad you came out to meet with us yesterday! We really enjoyed visiting with you. Must plan a weekend camp out soon! Look out-you shall soon be one of our regular adventure buddies! MAR-E is a real beauty! I look forward to seeing COLT!

Barbie, sorry to hear your new laptop is not working out. Since I'm looking for a laptop, I'd be interested to know which one to avoid, if you don't mind saying.

I see my lilac bushes are budding out, but not much else hereabouts. Horses sure say it's spring, shedding like mad! When I groom I get more on me than on them!

Ta! Catch ya later!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Morning ladies,

Well, spring is trying to work in here, been above normal yesterday and again for today. Snow is melting down pretty good, but it will be awhile before I see my yard. Bare spots are appearing though. Figure probably after Easer before I can do anything out there, depending. From the looks of all the debris on top of the snow, pine needles, sticks, branches, etc., maybe I don't want it to melt

Yeah, I've been missing Lori's breakfast samples too, although Irmi did a great job the other day. Actually made me hungry for pancakes.

My goodness Sarah, I guess things were very stressful indeed. I'm glad your renters were at least okay, but that had to be extremely scary. Goes to show you that you just never know what's going to happen these days, no matter where you are.

Barbie, sorry the laptop isn't working out. The tech who repaired my laptop here told me that Toshiba is a good brand and also I've had extremely good luck with HP. It was my fault that I had to have this one repaired, not the computer itself. As to Window's 8, get a book from Amazon called Windows 8 for Dummies. I've used one before for navigating XP I think it was or one of them anyway. Good reference book.

Waiting for a Realtor to come later this morning to look over house and give me a CMA on it. Not completely sure if I will list or not, but is nice to find out about how much it's worth anyway. Seems I'm so anxious to get out on the road this spring, that I sometimes think I should sell my current TT and get a better one and just hit the road for awhile. So many places to see and things to do.

But anyway, hope you all have a nice day today.

Good morning all...yikes Sarah...that is just to much for me to think
about...I probably would have to move..would not feel safe...
I have not been around much either but not for an exciting as that
I have used up my monthly data with Verizon...so I am sitting right
now at Panera Bread using their free WiFi and going to get a bagel
soon...not much new here ...for some reason my ins. tripled and
really cut me short on $$$ so there will be no camping or moving this
rig far until my trip to PA....so have a fun day and stay safe

you want to take a look...

Good morning all. New to this site and just getting my feet wet in RV boondocking in FL. Originally from PA. We have tornado warning here with high winds. All the awnings on Rv's have been put in. Having coffee out side enjoying the sunshine until the rain comes.

That's so scary Sarah but seems to be happening all over. There seems to be a shooting at one of the towns around me every day.

The storms came through here last night with a lot of lightening and rain. Annie(cat) and I thought we might have to get in the bathtub. lol I haven't heard of any damage but our lights went out about 5:00 this morning for 3 hours.

Vickie, I just noticed the big arena and building South of I-10 in Sulphur. When did they build that? My sister and I had lunch at the Pitt Grill on our way home and thought of you and Ronnie.

Better get back to washing clothes. I washed 3 loads last night and have at least 3 more to go.

Gracious, Sarah, what an episode! I'm glad nobody was hurt. I hope you're having a rest day now that things have calmed down!

Martha, the covered arena has been there for close to 10 years! They recently added another big building to hold events, similar to the Lake Charles Civic Center.

Well, it isn't morning anymore, but wishing all of you a wonderful afternoon... :)

I've been AWOL for a few days....finally over the bad allergy attack and last night got the best night's sleep I've had in months....a full 8 hours....which means my butt didn't get out of the bed until 7:30am and I've been busy every since...laundry done, bed made, dishes done, and now time for me.... Another reason for my absence is my moving my web sites over to Ernie's laptop...my poor little notebook has issues which were driving my nuts....it really needs a trip to the shop, but we've decided to wait until we're back in PA to do that....so I'm now "user 2" on Ernie's big laptop... This means I have to wait until he's done with his "daily reading" before I can get mine done....Oh, well, we done this before....

Things here in GA are bright green with the leaves coming out....with a little color of the wisteria and azaleas in bloom....and the temps are wonderful... ;) Mid 70s to low 80s....

Okay, will get out of here and finish my surfing...

Have a great rest of the day, all...

Beautiful day here! Lots of birds are back already and the air is filled with their songs!

I bought an Acer netbook. They are a good brand but I apparently just got a bad one. :( I returned it today and found a place that will put in a new hard drive in my old one for $200. That way I save some money and dont have to deal with Windows 8.1

Tomorrow morning I am going to pick up my new kayak! I was able to make enough in tips this past two weeks to be able to pay for it (and still pay my rent). Now to wait impatiently for the ice to melt!

Hope you all had a great day! :D
