Last Satruday of March

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Satruday of March

Postby Colliemom » Sat Mar 29, 2014 6:27 am

Good Morning everyone,

Last Saturday of March already. Seems like we just turned the calendar to a new year and we are heading for it's 4th month next week. Tim's flying.

Just popped in to say hi this morning. Cereal, bananas, strawberries and toast available for breakfast here today.

Nothing much on the agenda today. Took the truck in yesterday and had mud flaps and bedliner installed, not to work on tonneau cover. Might clean some light fixtures today.

So am going to turn this over to all of you and wish you a nice day. It's Saturday, so time to get out and enjoy the weekend.

Good morning Sue, Cheryl and everyone!

Sue, congratulations on your new purchase! I think you're going to love your new truck. We've had a Silverado for fifteen years and it's been a great truck.

Lori, I hope you and all the others with allergies are coping as best as you can. Everything here is covered with the yellow dust, too.

It's mild in Ocala this morning and we have a chance of showers and thunderstorms today. The campground is emptying out as the snowbirds are preparing for their trips north. I paid for another month yesterday and paid our electric bill, so we're caught up again. We won't be staying for the entire month but it's cheaper to pay for a month than to pay for a couple weeks. The weather in MD is slowly beginning to warm up and the night time temperatures are staying above freezing.

Have a good Saturday everyone and safe travels to those on the road.

Good Morning

After a few days with back feeling better, I must have slept wrong last night; woke up hurting again this morning. Taking that as sign not to clean house, any excuse will work. ;) Nicky has brought so many leaf crumbles in the den carpet may need raking before vacuuming this time.

I did get my paperwork for tax prep done and to accountant yesterday. What a relief to get that done; now just hope I don't owe more taxes or have to pay quarterly again. The Required Minimum Distribution tax rules hit me hard - so much for the theory of lower tax brackets after retirement. Next task - get bills caught up and 2014 bookkeeping set up. Being gone much of the first quarter of the year has me playing catch up.

Still raining and one more strong thunderstorm moving in before all clear this afternoon. Maybe the rain will calm the pollen down for a day or two. Allergies are in full swing as sign of spring showing more each day.

Welcome to all the new members. Have a good day and enjoy the sunshine if lucky enough to have some in your neck of the woods.

good morning ladies
well today is the day to scout rv/mobile parks and figure out a place to plant the rv. :D and since its laundry day, I'll work it in here n there.
The pitbull girlfriend is gone. She stopped by last evening to collect some of her things driving a fancy red jaguar, 2000 with temporary plates. Son is bumbed but knows she doesn't want to go to jail (again) for her recent assault episode. I say good riddance. Drama is beginning to subside and in just a couple weeks I can begin my new chapter in life.
I did check into the park I used to be in, rent is way up now but they do have three empty spaces available if I make that decision. I'm looking farther out into Apache Junction area today. Its cheaper out there but little farther commute to work. But its doable. So, wish me luck on my search, hope to find just the right place to call home for the next 3 years.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good morning to all! It sure did rain all-out hard last night, or early this morning, but it's just overcast out there now. The rain was good for my rose bushes and all the other stuff, including grass, that needed a drink. We have missed the rain predicted for many days this past couple of weeks. Was planning to go to St. Cloud today, but may wait until this afternoon to see if worth it to try to get outside and let the dogs go free as they can down there. Sunshine scheduled for tomorrow which would be fun.

Mandy's visit to the doc's this week will have her asking about a scheduled date for her C-section, which she will have if her baby is still in the breech position. Then the rest of us can make our schedules around that date.

House updating is nearly done---perhaps another two the three days of work should have it all wrapped up, and it looks beautiful! I am very excited about it.

Sorry to hear about your back getting rowdy again, Sarah. I agree that it sounds like more rest is needed, but in a super good position for the spine. I didn't know one could pay quarterly for taxes owed? That would help me out a lot if I find I owed a bundle as I usually do. So I guess I should get back to Turbo Tax and finish figuring mine. I owe a bundle to Lowes for assundries purchased which the carpenters will install for me, like outdoor lights, hose racks, faucets, and more.

Irmi, my itchy throat and runny nose and sneezes and hacking and itchy eyes are going wild down here the past couple of weeks---am hoping th overnight rain will help with that danged pollen all over the place. You were smart to schedule yourselves another month down here as they are getting more snow up north as we sit here, I believe.

Let me know what you learn if/when you read your manual on your new truck, Sue----My truck will a year old very soon, and I have yet to find the patience to sit and read and learn about all the things it can do!

Itish, where are you located these days?

Have a happy Saturday wherever you all may be!

Happy travels!

Good Morning! Been a while since I have been here for breakfast. I can supply the coffee…really need to buy groceries! I’ve had a busy couple of weeks. Had to go to a trade show in Chamberlain SD week before last and ended up driving in a blizzard part of the way. This past week was playing catch up at work and fighting with freighting firms about trying to get a load of 40,000 yards fabric delivered that is sitting in a rail car in Sioux City. Some union crap about who can pick it up. Darn shipment is already five weeks late. My temper went KABOOM yesterday when I was talking to the broker and when I hung up the phone I looked up and 30 inmates and the correctional officer were staring at me with their mouths hanging open….they had never seen me so angry. Guess I got a little loud. Other than that things are fine. Mother Nature has been a little schizophrenic one day it’s 25 and snowing and the next day it’s 65*! Makes life interesting.

Made reservations for the 4th of July camping marathon today….nine nights. Always look forward to that. We also have reservations for a weekend in May, but that’s an iffy one and will depend on where DH is with spring planting. My friend Missy is a new grandma…I’ve seen her smile more in the last two days than I have since her husband died in October. Next Friday night four of us are going on a girl’s overnighter to celebrate her 50th birthday. She’s the baby of our Steel Magnolia group and we planned this a year ago and we are not going to let her weeny out.

I have to share my picture of Bronc. A friend sent me a photo with the verse on it and I was able to put it on his picture with my photo program. I love it. Going to mat and frame it.

Have a good day everyone. Prayers and safe travel to all. Lots of new rigs and vehicles on here lately. I read the forum during my lunch break but can’t post.

Sue, who is Tim, and where is he flying to? :?

Today is my daughter, Naomi's 13th birthday!! She is a teenager now! Wow, time sure flies! Will get to see her on May 16th for our annual visit. Can't wait! :D (for you newbies, she was adopted at birth and I get one visit with her per year).

Yesterday I was told by a customer that there is a way to change Windows 8.1 back to Windows 7, so I am going to try that.

I am dog sitting for my brother tonight. He has an older golden retriever named Dixie, who is a sweetheart! I have the day off today, so will do some cleaning around here before I go get her.

Have a great day :D

Good morning, everyone.

Sun is shining, back door is open (slightly cool outside, but hooray for letting the light in).

Today I get to do all the things I didn't get done before the kids came. Trying to get serious about eliminating 'stuff' - setting a goal of filling a bag/box a week or weekend day until I'm down to essentials. Seems like it'll take forever, but I know many of you have done this successfully so I'm encouraged that it can be done.

Thnking more about how I can stay connected with (or work remotely for) Unbound - the org I work for. Want to spend more time with kids & on the road. Keep changing ideas on retirement, semi-retirement. Appreciated the thread on Health-care - learned quite a bit.

Encouraging youngest daughter to look for different job in San Diego. Currently she's working for a very small designer boutique - minimal foot-traffic & very small staff. She needs to find a friendly work environment where she can meet younger people. So if anyone knows of employment opportunities for a recent college grad out there, please PM me. Her major was French (stop laughing) - with a minor in business. :D She adores living in SD - getting her situated with friends means I don't have to move out there quite so soon.

Barbie, Here's a link to an article by Cnet on how to use the Win 7 interface on a Win 8 computer http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-make-windows-8-look-like-windows-7/ I don't have any experience with this - but help desk guy at work says he did it on his home laptop.

Ava, so excited for you! Keep us informed...

Sorry about everyone suffering from allergies/aches & pains - hope you feel better soon...
Love hearing about all the new vehcicles, rigs, trips...
Love this group!
Better get busy....
Take care everyone!

Thanks Catherine! I just did that on my new laptop. I read that downgrading to Win7 is not a good idea so I found out how to make it look and act more like Win7. Still a lot to learn and lots of frustrations on this thing yet  !
