Must haves

Ok, I was asked about my Must Haves list. I'm doing this off the top of my head, because who knows where the list is now lol.

Down bed, meaning a bed purposed as a bed on the main floor, separate from my sitting area.
Cabover bed NOT an entertainment cabinet.
The regular Class C size fridge with separate freezer
Dry bath with some storage.
Good size hanging storage.
Spare tire
Easy to get to dump.
Electric in enough places and the right places.
At least as much interior storage as the rig I had.
A couch or u- shaped dinette Not just a regular dinette ( never thought I'd end up with both)
Less than 25 feet ( yes, I pushed the limit on that, but not by much)
Good window space. Must be one in my bedroom.
A generator
Minimum two batteries.
If the rig doesn't come with solar, inverter, etc, must move those from current rig to new rig.
Microwave/ convection combo OR microwave and regular oven

There were more must haves if I purchased used ( like tires within a certain year range, etc)

And then there were my wanna haves. I got most of them, also, with the exception of a gas/ electric water heater. Switching over my Hott Rod. And a few others.

Then there is negotiating. Service is also putting up my magazine rack in the bed area and my spice rack in the kitchen, for example.

I have a list of things I would like to have but since I have never had an RV/TT, they are just the basics like the layouts, etc. It takes experience and time to know all the little details of what a person really likes or dislikes in a rig. I wouldn't have a clue on closets, sewer connections, electric outlets, etc.

If I had to get down on my hands and knees to dump the tanks I would pass on that rv. There might not be anyone to get me up.

I didnt know you could even get a couch and a dinette both in that size. I will keep that model in mind if I decide to try to go smaller.

And I realize my must haves will be very different from someone else. It's so personal. Yep, Martha, it was when I looked at an rv a few years ago at a show and saw I'd have to lay on my back on the ground to dump. Excuse me? Needless to say, you really do have to look at everything.

We had to have a walk around bed with night stands for Phoenix's Bi-pap (breathing machine ) with electrical outlet.
A toilet not in a closet and a good size shower which did not open to the bedroom. IE a separate home style bathroom.
A bedroom for the GB so we could still be up and put her to bed. 1/2 bath for her was a plus but the extra door may prove to be an issue.
Easy access to storage. Didn't want to have to do a bunch of bending over.
Controls like fridge door latches had to be a certain style so Phoenix could open them.
Electrical outlets in easy to reach locations.
Went with a booth to corral the GB but I wanted table and chairs. The booth will probably be changed out one day.
Couch so all 3 of us could watch TV and a place to change the GB's diapers (can't wait for that to end ) Will probably change of couch for a pair of recliners one day. Couch held by a strap so it easy.
Double stainless sink in kitchen

There have been many "upgrades" or modification to made it ours.
Maxxair vent covers
Heat-pump A/C unit over bedroom
Strong-arm stabilizers
Battery cut off switch (keeps parasite loads from draining my battery)
Beefed up the floor over the storage area, bathroom floor, to support our more robust figures.
Oxygenics shower head so I cold get a decent shower.
Removed the bedroom door since we kept snagging clothes on the handles.
Changed the mattress to a memory foam and tilted the bed up 4" for my acid reflux.
Changed pin box to the Reese Goose Box. Allows a "clean truck bed" when not pulling trailer.
Progressive Industries internal EMS system to protect the electrical system.
Bought a good high flow pressure regulator to protect the water system


Thinks I missed or would be nice to have.
