3rd Great-Niece arrives Early!!

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Thu Feb 19, 2009 1:26 pm

Just received a call from my sister....Her new little Grand-daughter arrived by emergency C-section this morning at 10:32.....seems her Mommy's blood pressure went sky high and they could not get it down and regulated...so Irelynn Mae arrived 4 1/2 weeks early...weighing in at 3 pounds 6 ozs.....she is breathing on her own and is doing well....Her Mommy is still dealing with high blood pressure issues, but with medications, we are all praying she'll be doing fine soon....she is awake and talking with everyone and at last contact with my sister, the meds. seem to be working, even though it is slow...so please, everyone say a little prayer for Amanda and little Irelynn..(she was due St. Patrick's Day....hence the name Irelynn..)and my nephew, Eric, the new Daddy. I'll keep you posted....

So glad baby was able to be delivered safely and is doing well. My daughter had preclampsia and my gd was delivered early like that, at 2 lbs 4 oz. (Doing fine now at age 11) Mother's blood pressure problem should resolve quickly now that the baby has been delivered. It is life threatening until then though.

Congrats to the family, and strength for the mom to get that blood pressure down to safe levels once again. Babies sometimes have to come early so they can have their mommies to take care of them. Can't wait to see some pictures as soon as possible!

I'm so glad that the mom was monitored and the condition found - and have both Mom and baby in my prayers. Congrats!

So glad they got the little one in time with no ill effects on Mom. Except that darned recovery after a C.

Congrats and I'm so glad that everything has come out good! My 3rd child was a premie; thankfully with no complications other than jaundice. She's 25 now!
