Mitch: could you post a direct link to the ladder? I somehow couldn't find it on their site.

if I remember the tall neighbor, ignored her muddy RV and was busy washing the dusty, dirty dogs.... that were the ones making fun of the dust line....What tall person could mess with such artistry! Well, and the dust line looked pretty neat....like a badge of honor. :) When asked one could casually say.....oh, I drove through Baja and a few of the roads were a little dusty. :D

I posted a link (above) to the ladder I ordered from build dot com. I DO NOT recommend getting the ladder (or anything) from this company. I am having a helluva time getting it shipped, although they had no problem charging my credit card. This morning, I Googled company reviews - they are not very good.

I won't use build.com again.

And that is my story for the morning.

Mitch: Thanks for the info on the ladder. I decided last week to order it from Amazon. I do have Prime and had it in less than 48 hours. I did have to pay tax though, but just trusted Amazon more and fast delivery. Sounds like I was lucky.

Yes. I think Amazon was forced to collect tax. Not sure under what circumstances they have to collect. I think if the item comes from a seller with no services in the state, then no tax. In the case of the ladder, it was from Amazon, LLC and because of that, they charge tax. So I think every item is different depending on the seller.

Internet sales tax is getting enacted in almost all states. They've learned that people are staying away from to sticks-and-bricks to avoid taxes, but states are learning that they were losing too much money, so now they are enacting tax on internet sales.

Since I'm in IT, I also know this is coming for us and hope to retire before I get pulled into that mess. Also, when it's tax filing time right now, accountants (are supposed) to ask if you have bought anything from the internet - and they they get that taxes at that time.
