Sunny Tuesday in Michigan

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Tuesday in Michigan

Postby Colliemom » Tue Mar 18, 2014 7:14 am

Good Morning everyone,

I'm happy to report that I now have my computer back and am able to rejoin the forum on a regular basis. Sure have missed all of you and am trying to play catch up on all the going on's, which is next to impossible. So will take this time to welcome all the new people, wish belated Happy Birthdays to those who had them and also congratulations to those who have new rigs including Mitch. I too am working on the possibility of getting a new rig and also a new tow vehicle. Will know more within the next week or so. After reading the post I started about Summer Plans, it looks like it's indeed going to be a busy summer out there. Can't wait to get started.

First have to get through the remainder of winter and early spring. Although we aren't having much if any snow here, the temps are staying below normal and will take time for the snow pack to melt down, which is good. Too much too fast can cause flooding and other issues. So patience is required this time of year.

Ms. Sassy and I are heading to vet for check up this morning and see what her liver enzymes are doing. She has had quite a hard weekend this past weekend in that she reinjured her bad leg by slipping on my living room floor despite having runners and a area rug on it. Must have stepped off on to the Pergo flooring by my chair and went down. Needless to say, she was having a very hard if not impossible time laying down and getting up and also getting around. But with patience, time and my treating her with warm compresses, she is coming around and slowly getting back to as much normal as she can. Thought for a while there, that I was going to have to make that decision, but she's improving, so guess she will be with me a bit longer. Barbie's nasty weather is moving this way for tomorrow, so will enjoy today.

Have a wonderful and fun filled day all. Won't be long and we can all start fulfilling those summer plans.

Morning, Sue. Good to hear you voice again. You have been missed. Glad that Sassy is making her way back onto her feet. I think many of us can identify with her how our bodies feel after a hard fall. Glad that even with all that snow around the small signs of spring up your way are enough to brighten the ever faithful, "spring will come" outlook!

I am here at the house working on my to do list before I head back to work on Friday. Sigh. But it does mean traveling money so :D :D :D are in order. I am getting everything but my doctor appointments taken care of. Oh, well maybe there will be a break between some of the projects to schedule some of them..... :)

Good morning gals! Looks like our storm is shifting further north so we won't be getting much snow here, maybe a few inches or so.

Sue, glad you are back on-line! Hope Sassy feels better soon.

Heading in to work in a little while. Hope you all have a great day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

A little breezy here but not bad, hoping it won't get bad, would like to go for a ride today. I heard from a friend on another forum that the wind is really bad on his side of the mountain by Indio. I told him to keep it over there! Grands' birthday is today, 11 yrs old. How time flies, remembering when she was born. Poor little thing had a cone head from the forceps the damn dr. used on her. My daughter freaked out when she saw her! We're going out for an early dinner at her favorite place, an oriental buffet down in Murrieta. Great sushi there, they make it as you order it, nice and fresh. My grand is impressed that granny can use chopsticks.

Got a message yesterday that a very close friend is close to making his final journey. So very sad. Bad week for me, my Jack will be gone 10 years on Thurs. Hard to believe.

Hope everyone has a great day.....stay warm, dry and grounded! :D

Way past morning!

Hugs, Sharon - I was at 10 years last July. I feel like I am still adjusting to this 'new' life, but at the same time, Steven has been gone much too long.

It has been a bit sad around here this week as well regarding two former seasonals. One man who has been fighting leukemia for two years is losing the battle back in Washington State. Another with liver cancer visited here last week for a couple days along with his wife. A reminder to 'live like you are dying'.

Some may remember my telling of a 66 yo man here in the park last year who spent 70 days in intensive care with no diagnosis before he died in April. His wife of 46 years (childhood sweetheart) has been here in the park, had a memorial at a favorite riding spot and placed a plaque. We were out of town, but have visited the nice site. Well, the widow met her neighbor here just before Valentine's Day (and before the memorial). She left just after the Feb. 20 memorial and returned a couple of days ago. She and the neighbor got married yesterday!! Knowing the couple she and her hubby were and having been in her shoes, I just can't fathom this. Not trying to be judgmental, just flabbergasted at the quick decision to marry.

We went on a 110 mile RZR ride in the Kofa Wildlife Refuge today. Another trail with some really rough spots. Only took about 9 hours! No wildlife except one nondescript snake (meaning not colorful or a rattler).

Anita, that is surprising that your friend got married so impulsively. One month is surely not enough time to really know someone. I have heard of those situations working tho, so who knows

The snow finally started here around 8pm and coming down quickly. They are saying around 5 inches or so by morning. It is wet sloppy stuff and with temps above freezing, won't last long.

Work is dead this week since everyone left town for spring break. One gal quit today because of serious health issues, so I will be working a 6 day week again for awhile.

The kayak I ordered, came today but it is blue instead of red. I really want a red one, and blue ones aren't a safe color (blend in too much with the water) to have on a lake that has tons of boat traffic here. I want a brighter color that is very noticeable. So that one will go back to WM (apparently the new ones only come in blue and WM hasn't update their website.) So back to looking for another kayak. Saw a hardsided one that is a sit-on type that looked interesting...

Have some time to figure it out yet. The ice won't be off the lake for at least a month or more!
