Beautiful mountains! The tree with the acorns in it was interesting!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Lovely pics Liz. Thanks for posting. I do have a birding question. . . Ok so there are many bird books out there, but if you see a new bird, do you have to at least guess at the genus to narrow it down, or have to look thru all pics to identify a new one? Just call me clueless.

You've got that right, Alice! But after awhile you do get to recognize what looks finchy, etc. I'm not very good at it, but if I can get a photo, I can usually narrow it down. I will probably never be able to tell all the different kinds of sparrows apart, but I am getting better at ducks, lol. Now Birdie can usually tell by sound what it is.

What an interesting area. Thanks Liz. With all the geese and cranes on the move it must be migration season.

Yes,, thanks, Liz.
As I looked at your pics of these wonderful winged creatures & fabulous trees, I had the same question... how do you go about finding out what they are - so thanks for answering that one. and thanks for educating the rest of us... this hobby could be contagious. :D
