Unfortunately Margie and Roger had to change their plans and will not be able to attend. I will miss them but with Margie's help, I was able to get the site they had booked (#15). Looking forward to meeting a couple of new (to me) members as well as seeing ones I know. Plus I need to help with my share of those donuts.

I will volunteer to take any left over donuts! You can just ship them right on up to MN for me (overnight shipping please! :D ).
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning ladies, I really appreciate that you are all so willing to help with the donuts (BarbaraRose you know the saying must be present to win well must be present to eat donuts sorry had to go there) . Ok the potluck sounds great I think I will make chicken and dumplings. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone. So see ya soon. Karen

Not sure what I will bring, but I will host dinner one night.

Right now I am flipping through all my famous, hard to prepare meals. Yes, you guessed correctly. It will be somthing I can buy at Sams or Costco and microwave or put in the slow cooker. Don't make fun -- everyone enjoyed my honey BBQ wings (a la Sams Club). And, how can you possibly forget all the recipe requests I received for that hard to make homemade (by Costco) rotisserie chicken noodle soup? I mean really, did you not notice I added the little frozen green peas?

Maybe I need a new strategy --something like how to repurpose left over donuts. I bet a plain donut could pass for a fancy sandwich roll (chidonut bread) when filled with chicken and mozzarella cheese, a little mustard and smashed on one of those trendy sandwich making machines. This could be the next big thing just like when a certain large fast food place (think double arches) turned my egg sandwich on an English muffin into a breakfast staple. I knew those were good the one time I made them trying to empty the fridge when moving. Back to chidonut bread. Anyone know where I can find some leftover donuts? Or, are you saving all that extra donut dough for the dumplings, Karen???

If we are not careful, we may have trouble fitting behind the wheel to drive home at the end of this GTG. Somehow, a kayaking adventure is morphing into a donut-fest. Oh well, gotta be flexible and embrace new experiences!

Watching weather; sounds nasty for driving on Thursday. Trying to decide if wait until Friday am or try to get in early.

Well Girls, due to unforeseen circumstances (renters-just found out a few minutes ago) I will be unable to attend, I am so sorry that I will not be able to make the donuts I know we were all so looking forward to it. But hopefully later I will get it all together and will be able to camp and make it up to you all. Again I am so sorry, but I have to get this taken care of. Please forgive me. KarenS

Karen - sorry you are not going to be able to make it - was looking forward to meeting you. However, my blood sugar may thank you as it would have sky rocketed with all those home made donuts.

Hope your gathering is going well. I left Ft. Myers later than I thought, but had a great time with my family, enjoyed the weather, but now back to rain, cooler weather. I thought I was going to miss the donuts, but hopefully karen will catch up with you at another gathering and taste them at that time. Have fun, heading northbound to take care of some business.

I delayed trip to Rainbow by one day to avoid driving in the nasty weather. Will head that way in the morning. Mixed emotions about turning north toward home soon.
Nan: Hope to see you before I leave the state.

I will visit with Irmi a couple of days, but Steve is sick, won't be hanging around him. Then I am heading back north, don't want to go, but have to. So hopefully you can stop by for awhile.

Sadly, our stay at Rainbow Springs is over. We had a long, relaxing weekend. It was a little chilly the first night, but warmed up the next day to perfect weather. We went out to breakfast one morning, but made pancakes and eggs yesterday and this morning. It was fun to cook breakfast and dinner outside and sit around a campfire. No donuts in sight, but no one went hungry. Kayaking the river was fun and Sandy got in a little bicycling.

Even the drive home was pleasant. Although, it sounds as if Sarah's was better than ours. Sarah emailed me that she saw camels instead of horses in the field at one of the horse farms.
