Just called ranger again. He said the only difference between 41A and 40 is that 41A does NOT have the full concrete pad going over to the covered picnic table.

OMG!!! I am so excited about this GTG!!!

Just noticed the map you posted, Mitch - nice!

Both 40 & 41 are very nice. 41a is a bit away from 41 - lots of grassy area for GTGs there though. if you go to ReserveAmerica (link for Canning creek is on the first post), pull up the campsite map & then click on the sites, (don't pull it up to reserve, just click to see the info on it) you can actually see a picture of the site. These are very accurate if you want to get an idea of each one.

I'm about 2 1/2 hours away - we're expecting snow this weekend, but I might be able to get out there the following weekend to get pics - if the weather cooperates.

Yes, you can only book 6 months out - this is based on your check-in date.

Just noticed they have sites 41 & 41a as 'walk-up' sites - meaning they don't accept reservations for them. I'd still call to see if they'll let you book 41. Otherwise see if they'd let you book 39 & switch if 41 is available when you get there.

If you look at the site map it states that 38-43 are the only sites with 50 amp power. Due to my partners health issues if we can't get a 50 amp site it might be a deal breaker for us. I guess I need to get busy and get on the phone. Are they accepting reservations yet?

They'll only book a site 6 months out, so whatever day in March you plan to arrive in September will do it.
