Setting Up for Full Time By Myself

Postby CrazySadie » Mon Feb 24, 2014 11:48 pm

Greetings all. I am soon to go the early retirement route & want to do it as an almost full timer RVer. I've worked since I was 14yrs. old & want to travel & see what I've been missing. I've always had itchy feet, but had to make a living. Living in an RV is my dream.
I lived in a 30ft fiver about 15ys. ago in Virginia City, NV where I had just started working. It was the only rental available at the time. I lived through a summer & a winter w/over 3ft of snow & some single digits at night. I had to figure it all out, but loved it just the same. I've dreamed of RV living ever since (except with a tow vehicle to move it with).
I plan on Workamping & have lots of skills. Bar-tending, waitress, cashier, hostess, & spent many years in the food manufacturing industry. I also make jewelery & sew (do costuming for theater & re-enactors). I'm sure to find something to add to my retirement $$.
I am in the information stage right now & finding out what I can do on a small budget. Than you for having a forum for women!

Welcome! With your skill set, you should have no problem workcamping or adjusting to full time RVing. Lots of fun moving around and meeting friends you will make here.

Thanx for all the warm welcomes. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but my modem decided to leave this world & I had to wait for payday to obtain another. :?
Replies to some of your questions:
*I live currently in Mound House Nevada- between Carson City & Virginia City along HWY. 50 East. (that's about 35 minutes South of Reno).
*I am going to try & retire the first part of this coming summer. It all depends on when I get my truck & RV purchased & situated.
*I plan on full timing it except for 1 or 2 months of the winter when I will stay at a friends place in Pahrump, NV for repairs, cleaning, decorating, & general visiting. She will be coming on some adventures with me on her time off from work. Both of us are single vintage ladies (1 divorced &1 widowed) who love to travel. The rest of the time I will be on my own.
Hope to be seeing some of you once I get going.
