Snowy and Cold Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy and Cold Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat Feb 22, 2014 8:10 am

Good Morning from the snowy 45th,

Looks like everybody's sleeping in this morning. 8 s.m. and nobody's on yet! Well, I already had breakfast, so guess you are on your own today

Sitting here in my chair watching it snow outside and also watching HGTV. Sure was a crazy weather day yesterday with wind, sleet, snow and everything thrown together. By late afternoon it was terrible out there for anybody who had to be on the road. Whiteout conditions. Mackinaw Bridge was closed. Local TV station weather cam showed nothing but a wall of white up there. Glad I was in my nice snug house. Looks like it's heading to the northeast now, so enjoy your nice mild weather while you can. And now the cold air is moving in and will be heading south again.

After a day of painting a bedroom and yesterday spent doing some picky touch up work along the ceilings and walls. I think today will be a day off. Will sit and watch it snow. Saturday is my weekly update bank books day and need to catch up on here as well. So far behind on everything and everybody.

Barbie, I know how it is with your having to clean your Jeep off everyday before work. When I stay up in the U.P. my Flex is parked outside and I had to clean it everyday I was up there, some days just scraping rest off. And it was darn cold too. That's why I suggested you get a can of that Prestone Spray De Icer. If you clean your windshield first, spray that on and let it set while you go taruond the rest of the car, it will make clearing the frozen stuff of so much easier. I have used it for years.

Hope all of you who were in the paths of the storms yesterday and last night are safe and no damage done in your areas. I know IL was hit with a bunch of tornadoes as well as GA.

OKay, enough weather jabbering here. Time to let somebody else chime in. Hope you all have a wonderful day out ther today.

Good morning
Where did you find the sun, Donna? It is not at Wickham. But there is NO snow or wind this morning; really hoping the rain holds off. Two big thunderstorms rolled thru yesterday afternoon. Both were brief but very loud - Nicky was not a happy camper. There is just no where for him to hide in Magic when thunder starts booming. Long after the rain quit, I could see flashes of lightening way off to the east as the system moved away. Bet that would have been pretty to watch over the ocean.
Hope you have a good day.

Good Morning everyone... yes Sarah we had those thunder storms also boy were they loud and buckets of rain... can you imagine what it would have looked like if it had been snow? We would be stuck here for months!! I am so glad Shadow is not afraid when it thunders... I had a golden one time and she was so afraid... know what it is like... feel so bad but cannot do anything but wait out the storm and talk to them...

Oh Sue you busy bee time for a day off... are you changing color or using a neutral? Enjoy your day Donna...

I had a great tour of Irmi's rig... WOW is all one could say... I am so happy for them... they have a regular sized living room with those slides... now Irmi has a great place to do all of her cooking!!!

I will share my oatmeal with anyone that wants some...

Today will be the dumping day... my gauges are not showing up again so do not know how full the tanks really are...

Will sign off now and listen to the happy birds singing!

Mornin' Sue, Donna, Sarah & Kathleen,
Not much happening here today, but may hit the Ford & Dodge dealers to checkout the after auto show truck sales. Not that I'd like less gas mileage that I get now, but being nosy 'just in case' if I could get that cute 2020QB I saw at the RV show 2 weeks ago. Plus my Escape is only 2 years old and alreay has 69,000 miles on it, plus got a recall a couple of weeks ago for a throttle problem, which is why I got rid of my last escape.

Donna glad to hear your leg pain is easing up a little, but sure hope you can find a doctor to check it out for you before it gets worse.

With warmer (?) weather & thunderstorms tornado season is starting early this year Sue. From what I heard, 3 hit central to southern IL the other day when we had thundersnow. I dread tornado season. Minimal to no warning.

Hope you have a relaxing peaceful day Kathleen. I've been thinking about you & the family troubles & still sending you (((hugs))).

Sarah, did you change your mind on a haircut? I saw by the pick on Donna's blog it's still long. Short hair is probably easier with traveling, but long hair is easy too, just put it up & forget it. Wish I sometimes had the patience to get mine longer again.

Have a great day ladies & all that follow.
Cheryl

Good morning all. Another sunny day in PA. And warm too! Ok, 40 isn't warm to most of you but you take what you can get! Luckily we've had a few days of sun and above freezing days to melt some of the snow piles and snow on the roofs. More cold and snow showers on the way though. My son and his wife are coming up today to bring their Rottie to me to take care of while they are gone this week. He is such a good boy and such a baby! My guys have met him and they all seem to get along. I think they will play hard and wear each other out! He is crate trained so if it gets too much for him he will have his place to go to or if it gets to much for me I can separate them! Three big dogs, I really need my head examined! Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Good morning ladies :D
having a minor two week setback in my plans here, but its easy enough to deal with. All is ok :P or will be very soon.
The weather is good though, a little breezy yesterday and if you were in the shade the breeze was cold but in the sun
the breeze felt good. Today is projected to be in the upper 70's, but I much prefer 80's. But those days are right around
the corner.
Doing my routine laundry chores today and then will tackle the few boxes of paperwork I sorted through looking for my
marriage license.....lots of shredding to do there but all the important stuff is already put away in a very special file
in my tax box which I have no need to go through. Now that its on record  next time I stress out over finding some
important document ya'll can remind me its in the tax box!
Oatmeal sounds good for breakfast, I've got two packs of the strawberry cream and I'm gettin hungry. Then I'll wake up
Miss Maggie so I can strip the bed and get the sheets washed. She just hates that cause she has to find a pile of blankets
on the floor to bury herself. I do the linens backwards, mattress pad gets washed first so it gets dried first and so forth as
I put the bed back together. :P Thats my system and I'm stickin to it ;)
ok, ya'll have a great day, be safe and be warm.

Kathleen, I know I missed a lot while in Mexico but....did Irmi and Steve get a new rig? I couldn't tell by your description. I remember they had a nice living room and she had all her "cooking" stuff stored close and convenient. But you know us. We always want to drool over folks new wheels when ever possible.

Good morning everyone!

I've been remiss about posting but have kept up on daily posts to see what all of you have been up to. Seeing the snow and roof clearing being done at Sue's house to hearing about the dreadful weather Barbie is putting up with makes me very happy that we're here in warmer FL. Ava, I hope the set back won't keep you from moving into your fifth wheel. Still having family situations going on but relying on phone calls, emails and lots of prayers to keep all of us going.

Steve & I went to the RV show in Ocala and traded in our Class C for a used 40 foot Presideo Mandalay with four slides. We had Kathleen over yesterday and it was so good seeing her again. Sarah, if you, Donna, MM and any others have a chance to get to Ocala, it would be great seeing you again.

I hope all of you on the road are safe and those of you still having severe winter weather, take care and stay warm.

Irmi, so good to see you posting here again.
Yes, I'd love to see you and Steve on my way north.....and of course your fancy new rig. are you continuing to stay at Wandering Oaks? Know you had mentioned at one time that you might try a different campground before going back to Maryland.

Oh, goodie, goodie, Irmi. :D You know the next request, right. Pictures, please. You guys should be so comfortable in that space, enjoying the Florida sunshine or whatever else FL wants to throw at you. With the toad you guys can go anywhere.

Steve's driving experience probably came in handy in making the trade up to a 40 footer. :) I find myself wander around RV lots more lately, too. But I think I will stick a little smaller in my looking. :)

Enjoy.
