Hi Lori and Ernie, Regarding the picture, on the left side is the submarine base at Ballast Point. On the right side of the picture is the North Island Naval Air Station. The Marine recruits all go up to Camp Penelton now and the Naval Training Center is gone.

loved the pictures and I look forward to returning to San Diego sometime soon and have Lyn show me around. I wanted to see stuff
when I was there for the wedding but of course time and relatives just didn't fit my schedule. Definitely a "ME" trip in the future.

You might have to search for "Frozen in Ohio." The post is a ways down the page.

That is pretty remarkable for sure. My RV has felt that cold traveling in the north in the winter....

Thanks, Tina.
What an impressive library and grave sites overlooking the sea are awesome.

what a neat day you had...my dd loves cemeteries so she would have so enjoyed the day as well
when you go with a native you see the oft forgotten places...like libraries....looks like a really nice one!
when Lyn was here I was telling her about a botanical garden I heard about and put in a folder to remind me of
but couldn't remember the name so I went to check it out it's called the Quail Botanical Gardens "hard to find but worth" it the write up said
recommended for that reason to call and get directions it also said that plants ect thrive there from other parts of the world...phone number is (or was) 760-436-3036 and I understand that it's changed names but check it out if you have time and let me know how it is

It is now called the San Diego Botanical Garden and is in Encinitas, CA just a ways up the coast from San Diego. I went there one day but forgot the SD card for my camera so didn't get any photos. Is a cool place tho!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
