Okie Dokie, So it's Tuesday...Morning All ! My day was not a Great day...but a Good one..Had the Meeting with the General Manager and there is a few more meetings coming up... in fact on Thursday.. I'm hoping to get this topic put on the Agenda for the Board Meeting.. aaaah you ask, "What topic" well those that read what I wrote yesterday...(Beth thanks) there is an issue happening here (and could happen to you too ) that if someone has a 911 call and they have animals..(Dogs) when the rescue team comes in and they can't get too you...the Sheriff here can and will shoot your dog !!! plain and simple.. the small dogs they can net and spray, but the larger dogs they just simple shoot ! Now, I don't know how many own a Large breed here..a few off the top of my head I know..but for those that do..think about it..and or find out what they do in your neck of the woods..!!!
I'm working on forming a committee to HELP in this scenairo.....It certainly brings a chill up my spine..and because I am alone here, hubby only coming in a few weeks of the 6 months..it's something I have to prepare for..As like anything else .."Ya never know when it can happen to YOU!..
My column is going to be short and brief, as this is such a disturbing situation..in fact it has me somewhat ill..just the thought of what could happen..

(Sarah)... lovely picture of you and your dog Buddy...and yes, you ask.."Where is the young woman"...mmmm that's something we all tend to think about..but fully understand Life's circle..Amazing how time stops for no one !...but appreciate the value of how far you came.. I'm sure all us Sista's feel the same way !

Gentleladybear (Nan) is asking all about the Thousand Trail Memberships...and getting some rather good info...of course if you don't do a lot of traveling..none of the memberships are really worth it... Passport America seems to be a very active one here on the East Coast..in fact Nan down the road from me there is a Thousand Trail park..only open during the Winter Months here...members only..but looks very nice.. but read the small print for sure !

Sunshinecruiser (Carolyn) We are all so excited for you...and Yep a "New Life Style" and lots of wonderful places to go and see...We all pray that your sale will go swiftly...and can't wait to hear what's happening in your world... You've got Places to Go and People to Meet...Amen !

RV Granny (Lori and Ernie) I liked your comment to Carolyn.. "Remember it's the Memories that count, not the stuff !" Excellent choice of words..and how true...we hold on to "The Stuff"..because of the Memories...when we always have those...but surely gather lots and lots of "stuff"..

Snowball (Sheila) thanks for adding more logs to our Campfire and for thinking of us to build a shelter to come out of the rain....and protect us from the wind too..aaaaah that will be really cozy..

Well all.. it's that time for me..and I'm getting some what nervous to my stomach...need to keep busy and get into that kitchen..and whip something up..Perhaps a "Jewish Apple Cake" ah that sounds good and have some of those Blueberry Muffins that Echo dropped off... have a few Danish (Cheese and Cherry) and of course my jar of Biscotti for the dunkers.... Coffee pot is perking..Kettle is Whistling and cool drinks are in the frig...come sit and join in..and let us all know what's happening in your world....

Good Morning, Everybody!

Good to see you in your kitchen, Barb! Coffee sure does taste good this morning, as it's my first day back to work after 5 days off. Hard to get back into the swing of things.

Snow on the way for us tomorrow, they are predicting. That will make my skiing even better, as that top layer we had after all that rain and warmth is rather skimpy! We still have about 2.5 to 3 feet left on the level ground, however. The chair I sat in at the leanto sunk down right up to the seat in the snow!

Good morning! Sorry I've been MIA lately. When I'm in the stick house life seems to get in my way. One of my foster pups has surgery last Monday, the other got a UTI Wednesday so I was back & forth to the Vets 3 times last week. And I have been swamped with work! A Big WooHoo!!! for that.

We are looking everyday on the workamping forums for a place to spend next winter. I'd like to start emailing our resume to a few CG's in some areas we like, but it probably won't happen this week.

Hope all of you are well, & I'm going to spend a few minutes checking out the posts Ive missed!

Wonderful Tuesday. Got the verdict on my taxes yesterday. All that going back to work after retirement,just cost me a big tax bite I was not expecting...not enough taxes got taken out. Ugh! and double ugh! Just goes to confirm...it might not pay to go back to work! So that won't get paid till April 15th for sure. Since things are looking so tight financially I thought this would be a good time to look at upgrading my laptop. Here and you thought I was going to be rational......I have an appointment with the Apple Genius guys/gals at the Apple Store. I have come to suspect that the opperating system on my iBook is too old to work with much of the applications that are out there now. You know, like the application that would allow me to upload pictures to photobucket so that I could add them to this site. (Yep, that is the message I keep getting:( .....I also had difficultly getting SmugMug to work for me. The last straw was Sunday afternoon, when suddenly iPhoto would no longer open up.... My little work horse diffinitely needs a little help...so off to the 'puter doctor we go.....

Morning to every one from Mazatlan, yes we're still here. Hope to go visit another small town today, suposed to have an incredible gold altar in the church. Weather has been great - air came on yesterday for a little while. Felt and worked good. I posted yesterday a.m. but just as I hit submit the Internet went off and couldn't get back on the rest of the day. grrrr.. trying to load some video to show you of the dancing horse etc from Valentines Day. Enough for now have a wonderful day.

Morning. I'm at work but wanted to say hello. Barbz, sounds like you have a good plan going and I hope it all works out with the Board. It's not a nice thought that they would do something like that to your pet, but their #1 priority has to be you in that situation. However, if there is some way to keep you #1 and be kind to the pet too, then that is the way it should be!

Gooooood Morning Sistahs!!!!

It's a 10hr shift at work today. Have no idea why but we have to be in at 10:30 this morning and get off at 9pm. Oh joy!! NOT!!! Work was a pain in the azz yesterday. Gads!!! You can bet all you have that we are counting the days till we're done up there. Have 6 weeks left working at that place. We actually have 7wks but I didn't count 1wk cause we are taking a vacation week and going to NY to see family and friends. Figure we has best do it now. Haven't seen anyone up there in close to 2yrs.

Did some really hard thinking about when to quit. Had thought to stay until the middle of April. But if we do then that means we would have to pay a full months rent on this place for only 2 1/2 wks. Plus all utilities for the month. The biggest reason was Kelly's Doctor appt on April 13th. But she called and got it moved back a week. So April 3rd will be the last day working for that place. Had we followed the first plan? Like I said we would have had to pay a full months rent of $750 and the utilities by ourselves, it would have come out close to $1000. We can camp for less than that for the month of April and take our sweet azz time getting to AZ.

Well I am all showered, dressed and ready to go out the door. Kelly just came out of the bathroom from her shower and is getting dressed. It's looking like it's really close to that time of hitting the road for work. ~sigh~

While you're at it - check how often, or if ever, they've used this law. I had a fight with one city I lived in. The police had a law (and handed out the paper on it often) that any unleashed dog not on it's own property could be shot on site. I hated, HATED, HATED, that law. Unfortunately, they still have the law. But I did research and discovered that for the past 5 years (as far back as I went) they had never done it. While I still hate the law, at least I knew that it wasn't something they did. And as I was on the Board of Directors for the local Humane Society, I did know that they caught lots and lots of dogs and brought them in to us (including big dogs and dangerous dogs).

So, yes it's something to really consider - but hopefully the police there will not consider that a law they would uphold often, if at all.

And for those of you who say the priority is me- I'll tell you right now, if they shoot my dog(s) they might as well let me go too, cuz I'll spend the rest of any life left to me going after them - my dogs are my family and not to be shot to get at me. Wonder if I could put a sign to that effect on my door? I have a sign to rescue my dog if anything happens in here - wonder if I could put up a sign to rescue dog if anything happens to me -

All very good food for thought.

OK, on my break - a cold caught up with me last night. The Zican did it's job overnight and I was some better this morning, but it's coming back. Will see if I can take a nap (like till tomorrow) after work. Ha - I do have a dog, right? She's good but not that good

Morning from Oregon !
Looks like we'll have OK weather today - overcast, but no rain. Molly and I will head to the beach a little later. We didn't do anything yesterday, I didn't feel real great so I took the day off. We're both ready to get outside again
Barb, sorry you're so upset over the "dog issue" - I can sure see how it could be a problem for the rescue people, they're trying to help the human and the dog won't let them, but shooting seems pretty extreme. Couldn't they just "dart" them with some sort of tranquilzer ?? You'd think that'd be a solution - they dogs could then be taken to a Vet and held until you or someone else can come and get them.
