Back in 1995 when I was háving weird symptoms, I went to Kaiser and they diagnosed strange things like a torn rotater cuff (sp?). Then they said I should go to physical therapy. After several weeks of no help or improvement, I decided to see a doctor in Mexicali, Mexico. It's located just across the California border from El Centro where my ex-BIL is a podiatrist. The doctor took only 5 minutes to diagnose Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). He then drove me in his car to a lab where they did a blood test to confirm. The doctor waited and then drove me back to his office. It just blew my mind how the Kaiser doctor was completely unable to make a correct diagnosis in several weeks and it took the Mexican doctor 5 minutes.

Glad you're feeling better and got such good care. You were in the right place at the right time.

So glad you are better and your experience in a foreign hospital was positive. I have heard that many people are traveling across the border for some surgeries and such because of the cost. A friend's sister went to Monterey, Mexico for gastric by-pass and they were totally impressed with the care and how clean the hospital was. Take care of yourself as these bugs floating around are relentless. I have been sick off and on since December and am generally a very healthy individual.

Carol, what an adventure you had going to the hospital! I was very pleased to hear of your excellent treatment in the MX hospital! I am also happy for you that this experience has turned out so well. Lyn
