It makes you wonder how some of these places stay in business. I think they are letting teenagers run things. When there was a Mr Gattie's Pizza place you could drive up to the pickup window and 3 kids would look at you and no one would move. Needless to say they are closed.

Our club has trouble finding a restaruant with a meeting room that doesn't want to charge $200 for us to use it for 2-3 hours. I don't know anything about the restaurant business but I would think they would like to have 25 people show up. I like the mexican restaurant but we can't get it across to them that we each want a bill. It's a circus to get out of there.

They want 25 people ordering diner not cups of coffee so it's a guaranty minimum for the room. They often have to bring in a separate waitress for a group that big.

In the head-on collision, the Fit "driver dummy" was decapitated. Can't remember the speed, but it was the same speed as all the other cars for head on collision. Smart cars also did very poor in this crash test.

Just got this from home where it is not supposed to snow but more is on the way
Joe Songer/jsonger@al.com
"Nine people died and thousands other were stranded on Alabama roadways after snow and ice blanketed the state last month now this.

Grab the bread and milk...Alabama may be getting another round of winter weather.

A winter storm watch has been issued for much of north Alabama, where residents could see as much as 4 inches of snow Monday night into Tuesday morning. A second round is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Officials with the National Weather Service forecasting office in Huntsville said the area could also see sleet accumulations of as much as a half-inch.

As we all saw last month, snow and ice can cause havoc in Alabama, slowing traffic and, in some cases, causing widespread power outages."

--------------- I'm not going home now for sure

Sarah, stay put! No need to leave Florida right now. Wait until the weather starts warming up and enjoy your time where you are at! You've got good friends to spend your time with there.

Getting excited about my GF's arrival :D She is renting a car, so I plan to work on Wed, after this wet weather has (hopefully) passed. That way, I have in all of my volunteer hours for this week. I'm hoping to get the heck out of here, after she leaves! I am plotting my "escape" I seriously need to get away from this Bob guy :x He is on my last nerve, Sistahs! I even dread my twice daily walks. He insists on going with me and the boys, but argues about everything I talk about. I finally told him, today, that I think he just likes to argue. Surprisingly, he agreed on that  He has cronic halitosis, too. Seriously! I have to try to walk upwind from him and can hardly bear to be in the car with him, sometimes. Rarely does anyone annoy me this much, but I gotta get outta here :!: I'm hoping I can buy a toad while my GF is here. I'm trying to get another volunteer job until I head up to my mom's. I would hate to rely on another volunteer to take me shopping. I even bid on one on ebay. Won the bid, but her reserve was not met, so no go. Ken went to look at one we checked on in AZ. The guy told me it was perfect, inside and out, when, in fact, it had some damage. I have called on a few who make it look like a private sale, only to find out they are a dealer. Sometimes, they still still say it is a private sale, no tax. I swear there are so many dishonest people out there!

Happy day yesterday. I've been making my plans for next winter in Florida because the state parks make reservations 11 months in advance. I really wanted to get a site at Gamble Rogers right on the ocean north of Daytona Beach because I have a friend who is hopefully soon moving to Flagler Beach, just down the road.

They open reservations at 8:00 am EST, so I had to get up at 5:45 am MST, and get ready online. I tried the morning before and clicked two sites at exactly 8:00 am and zero seconds, but someone got them before me! So yesterday, I tried clicking two seconds early, and got one! Yea! Now I can stay there 14 days on an ocean-facing site.

This gets ridiculous for the three state parks on the Keys, but I might just try again. HATE getting up so early, however.

One reason they are so competitive is that comparable commercial campground ocean-side sites go for $100+ per night and these are just $28, and half that for Florida residents. So it is worth a try.

Its one of those times when I wish I had a better camera. Just walked Nicky and noticed the big yellow moon rising among thin scattered clouds and behind some pine trees. Too pretty not to share but my camera is not of the quality to capture it.

Sarah, you did share the moon. I watched it last night, too! We were just in different states while admiring it. :)

I have not been here in forever but came in to check a few pages this morning... Oh Ava ask them to give you the Gator Aid prep for the colonoscopy I hear that is more palatable... I for many here have watched your progress with your finances... you have done very well... just keep on track and you will do fine on your own... being with children for any length of time is not easy...

I remember when I finished with my electronics degree I was given the opportunity to work for the FBI... oh my there were reams of paper work to fill out right down to every girlfriend my brother had had... Things I knew nothing about... it was daunting and I dropped it... went to work for a now debunked phone service doing 'repeaters' etc...

I actually came here to vent... three of my children are being piss ants... I can no longer deal with them... my twins believe they were severely abused as children... I do not know about the abuse because I didn't do any of it... I thought they had a wonderful childhood... At my sisters funeral my nephew talked about the abuse my sister and I suffered as children... we slept in a shack on the back of the house with no heat and one Army blanket to share with my sister Wilma... an example of the food distribution was if we had chicken my mandated piece was the back... I never had a real piece of chicken until after I was married... this was in Muskegon Mi... one knows how cold it is there... when my nephew talked he said his mom and I made sure our children were warm and fed... it was his daughter Tonya and her family that dropped bye to see me the other day...

One of my daughters daughter has gotten a PPO against her mother so my daughter turned around and got a PPO against her... it is total chaos.. my granddaughter will now not speak to me as I said I had to remove myself from the situation... I cannot deal with it...

Many of you remember last summer when my daughter Margie and son Chuck were trying to get me to leave my mobile home and move into a senior apartment residence... that is when I gave away my dear Shadow... he was gone for 10 weeks... I cried every day he was gone... to the point of becoming physically sick... the senior counselor said why not ask for him back... I was so afraid to but I finally wrote a letter and asked Hildis' daughter to come over... amongst the flood of tears she held me and said she would talk to her mom... I have my little guy back... during that time I yelled at my son over the phone very loud... he has not spoken to me since...

My daughter Margie is the only one left speaking to me... Evidently my daughter Gwen wrote some nasty things about me on Facebook; my son called her and told her to remove what she had written.

Margie sent me a package with my heated lap blanket and small electric heater and things fell out of it!!! Like chocolate for Valentines day...

I do not know what to do with the other three... I am very sad...
