Thursday Moring, early...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday Moring, early...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Thu Feb 06, 2014 3:49 am

Good morning, all....

Up early again today....but that's okay....I'm not going to worry about the weird sleeping habits anymore...it is what it is.... I have to laugh...Spinner is so use to an afternoon nap with me now, that he comes and lets me know that it's time for it...

Nothing much going on here....Got the bills paid and the grocery shopping done...got a book going, a crocheting project and a cross stitch going, too...so am not bored...and of course, chat time with folks here we know...so life is good..... ;)

Ernie's going golfing today with the guys....so he'll be out of my hair for awhile...and I'll have coffee with the other wives this morning...

So that's how things are here for now....the weather is breaking and warming up....maybe we'll be able to venture out this weekend....

Okay, coffee is ready and bagels are in the toaster...help yourselves...

Have a great day, all...

Mornin' Lori and all that follow. Sound like a good day planned, especially with the hubby out of your hair for a bit :P

Bitterly cold here again today. I keep wishing for Spring, because I'm tired of shoveling (between last Saturday & last night about 7 hour  ) Our luck for March - the in like a lion out like a lamb month, will probably reverse & come in lovely, and then hit us one more time.

Sure wish JudyJB would deliver some of the 76* weather to Chicago & not leave it all in Phoenix.

Stay safe, stay warm and have fun at the gtg's going on.

Good brrrrr morning! -15 with a -31 below windchill right now . Will this never end???

I have a split shift today so will come home at noon, eat lunch and take a nap before heading back to work.

Have been having strange conversations with my dad lately. His mind is slipping again. He told me last night that his job isn't going well and he may be done with it soon. He hasn't worked for over 20 years...

That's about it from here...have a good day! :D

Good Morning everyone... woke to sprinkles now a touch of sunshine... glad for the 60s now...
My frig in on the fritz again... the guy Kim is trying to figure out which it is: battery or converter...
He has it jurry rigged for now... he is going to TriAm to see what they say... I just hope it can be done
without me unhooking... and hope the cost is not huge... But what ever it is will work through it...

Barbie I do hope your dad is not spiraling down again... it is so hard to get old... some make it gracefully
while others have huge struggles... I am praying for you and your dad...

Lorie, you are not alone although I have always had sleep problems... my husband used to snore very
badly... now I attribute the problems with falling asleep in the daytime... messes me up.... But your time

Have a very good day

Good Morning, I was awake on and off during the night, I'm blaming the weather, the furnace runs so much I wake up thirsty and uncomfortable. I usually sleep with a window open in winter but when it gets into the single digits I leave it shut and I miss the fresh air. I now take my phone to bed with me and if I wake up listen to whatever book I'm currently listening to on Audible. Right now it is the latest in the Flavia series The Dead in Their Vaulted Arches by Alan Bradley.
Lori, Spinner is taking good care of you making sure you get your rest! It's amazing how fast dogs learn our routine. After lunch Toby goes and stands by the couch in the back room waiting for me and Andy sits on the couch in the living room waiting for DH. If your not on time for naps they come looking.
Trying to decide between going for chicken and dumplings with my cousin or going to yoga today. I did loose the 2 pounds with that stomach thing I had last week soooo.....
Keep warm and for those south hope you don't need your A/Cs today.

Good late morning to all!

The cold front has hit us here in Orlando-----oh yeah, it's down to 60 degrees! If that is a cold front, I'll take it! (Of course it got into the 80s here yesterday!) Back at home it is now zero in Vermontville, so this "cold front" is actually a heat wave in comparison!

Skin doc removed two dangerous moles from my lower back yesterday and left two gaping holes which should heal within about three weeks, he said. Thank heavens he found them as they are the kind that can turn too melanoma in a heartbeat.....I had no idea they were there and would never have known about them until I was nearly dead. Believe me, I will now have my body looked at each and every year from now on each time I get back down here.

Molly is having another good day-----eating her breakfast and drinking water and keeping it all down just like nothing was wrong with her. I will take each of these days with wonderful thanks from now on and take nothing for granted any more.

I hope everyone in the snow belts is prepared now, and that those power outages and icy conditions don't take anybody by surprise any more this winter. Today I will just hang out while my back tries to heal and not hurt so much, and go get Molly and Dinah heartworm meds and flea/tick stuff. Other than that, it's a hang-out-around-the-house day for me.

Stay warm and appreciate everything you can!

Good morning
After two sunny, hot days I'm back in long sleeves and thinking about digging out a sweat shirt. Cloudy, windy and humid today. Most of yesterdays rain and storms passed us by, thankfully. We even had a lovely sunset before the last storm rolled in and it did not last long. By 11:00 PM there was a star filled sky.
Enjoyed a nice visit with MissMermaid and Nan in the afternoon.
There is a very bold raccoon in this section of campground - roams both day and night and seems to have no fear of people. Watched him work very hard yesterday to open a cooler and he also skillfully removed cover from motorcycle (people were gone and I tried to shoo him away to no avail).
Lucked out on the fan problem (see post under maintenance); think it is resolved without a big repair bill.
Have a nice day.

It has only warmed up one degree this morning to 33. It is raining off and on. Hope everything drys before it drops to freezing tonight. The wind chill is probably in the 20's. I can see the trees blowing a lot. It's suppose to get up to 40 but unless the sun comes out I don't think it's going to make it.

No plans for today other than staying in the house.

Well poop, I guess I'm going no where until this thaws a bit. It is like an ice rink out there. Decided to go to yoga and headed out the door, I went about two steps but the ice on top of the snow is so hard now that I don't break through it even on the grassy area, so absolutely no traction. Decided I'd better not risk a broken bone for yoga. DH was so surprised when I said I couldn't walk outside so I reminded him of the weight difference. I'll have cabin fever for sure as it isn't supposed to thaw anytime soon.
Martha I hope your rain doesn't start to freeze.

Sadly, Mitch left this morning, headed for home. We had a little bit of sleet this morning around 9, but they said last night the little bit we got wouldn't make dangerous driving conditions. Looking at the radar, she might be headed for more sleet and possibly snow headed across LA into MS. We're supposed to get down to 29 tonight, I wish it would all go away and we could have Spring early!

Sorry to hear that Vickie. I thought Mitch might wait out the bad weather at your place. Let us know about her progress if she doesn't check in here tonight.

Just talked to older niece (I call her every couple of days) to see how they were doing.
Younger niece has lost 35 pounds and still not eating much of anything. Doctor putting her on something to try to stimulate appetite as of today. She is also back on antibiotics for another respiratory infection. Rhonda is still having a hard time getting her sister to sit up regularly or try the minor exercises she is supposed to do between visits of the therapist. Home health care nurse is coming daily; therapist 3 times a week.

I thought going back home but honestly don't think my being there would make any difference at this point.

Sarah, so sorry to hear the news about your niece. Could they perhaps put in a feeding tube if it doesn't improve? I know it must be hard not being there, but like you said, there's not anything that you could do there either. We'll just keep her in our prayers and hopefully the appetite stimulant will help.

I'll let yall know when I hear from Mitch. I think she's trying to make it to Grenada MS for the night.

Chilly here today in Phoenix, but the weather still predicts warm weather on Saturday and Sunday. In fact, they now say 74 of Sat and 78 on Sunday, so those of you not coming can just be jealous because we are not sharing our weather! Days should be getting longer, however, and a bit warmer soon. The longer days are really important to me because I hate to have to get home so early.

Bought a couple of tops, but no shorts yesterday during my shopping trip. It still seems nutty that stores in southern states get their spring and summer stuff at the same time as places like Minnesota. :x I need a couple of new pair and will just have to wait a few weeks. I have been washing things out by hand for the past week because there is no laundry in this area. Will stop on my way to Usery tomorrow, however, because there are a couple closer to that area. I DID get a very good haircut, however. One of the hardest things about being on the road is getting a good haircut because you are never in one place long enough to repeat salons.

Today will be a rest and work day. Am just going to get some papers done and look out my windows at the gorgeous views of desert and mountains. Love this very beautiful and quiet campground--McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Looking forward to Usery, also, which is equally gorgeous!

I hope Mitch can stay ahead of the sleet. It was sleeting pretty good a little while ago but it's melting. My thermometer still says 33. I think the rain is East of us now.

Sarah, sorry to hear your niece is still having problems. It's hard to help people that won't help themselves. I get mad at my son because he won't take his medicine like he's suppose to. He says he quit smoking but I doubt that's true. When you have ongoing respiratory problems the last thing you need to do is smoke.
