Went to town today for some groceries. I fell in love with Sprouts Farmer's Market in Mesa and I'm so happy they have a couple in Houston They have nice produce and good specials. Not liking to rely on Bob for transportation, but it works, for now. It feels weird to not have a car. I'm not real comfortable with buying a car down here. Worried about hurricane cars. Ken is going to check some out for me in AZ. Now, I'm looking at Saturn Ion.

Wintry weather is on it's way here...again They are saying it could be worse than the last ice storm. Warm up for Thurs and Fri, with highs back into the 60's and lower 70's

It's my DD's birthday. Tried to call her, today, but didn't get to talk to her. Seems I rarely get to talk to my kids and grandkids, anymore

Saturn stopped building cars in 2009. GM (parent company) only has to stock parts for 8 years. I use to deliver parts to GM/Saturn dealers and Saturn's parts were different from GM style parts. Saturn was suppose to be an experiment in a new way of building cars. They did most things separate from GM and thus sourced their own parts. They stopped building the Ion in 2007. You may have issues getting parts.

I have a 2005 Saturn Vue straight stick and if they all run like this one you won't need parts. It started out as a rental car, then was owned by 2 different owners. I've had it about 3 years and the only thing I've done to it so far is put in a new battery and buy new tires. I can tell you if they still made them I would have a new one, My husband wants me to sell it and start towing my new Caddy but I hate to do that. If you have someone handy like my husband we can get parts from salvage places when we need them, but I realize for us gals that's a problem.

I had two Saturns and loved them both. I put 185,000 miles on each of them, and they were still going strong. Both did burn oil, but I was told (by GM engineers) that was due to their aluminum engine and not to worry about it, so I didn't. The best thing was the plastic body meant no stone chips. I am pretty sure GM or someone will continue to carry parts for Saturns because there are so many of them on the road.

They were a basic little car, but they were well made. The service you got was incredible, like the time the salesman offered to drive 20 miles to my office parking lot to install something they had forgotten to put on. They really were different cars, and I was very sorry to see them stop making them.

I'm not saying not to buy a Saturn. Just be aware parts may become an issue the older the car gets. As long as there is a demand, the "after market" people will make parts. There are companies that buy the remaining inventory from GM, Ford, whoever and sell them online or to parts stores.

The 2014 you have to have an account to read but the Family Motor Coach Association publishes a list every year so if you know what year your looking at, based on funds or other reason, you can probably find their older reports on their website.

On the Honda Fit: they were ranked one of the top worse cars in crash tests. Was on the news last week.. Just thought I'd pass that on.

Ooh! I really liked the Honda Fit, too Guess I better look at the safety ratings of these vehicles. That was important information when I was buying or leasing a new vehicle. It is surprisingly hard to be choosy when it comes to buying a used toad, sold by a private seller. They seem to sell quickly. Then, some of them are dealers, posing as private sellers. Loving Carfax! It tells me what I need to know and I have unlimited use for a month. I even have the app on my phone, so I can look up cars, on the spot! Pretty cool Kind of like the Saturn Ion and Vue.

Defrosted the fridge today, since it was nice and warm out. It's nice when I can just put the food in coolers and leave the fridge open to thaw. I washed Myrtle's tires and hubs. I have some new wheel covers that I ordered when I was working at Amazon. Haven't even taken them out of the box. Will put them on tomorrow, before one of the managers' dogs pee on my tires I threw away my old covers. The previous owners gave them to me and I used them, but they were looking pretty sad.

Supposed to be in the 70's again tomorrow. Love it! Planning to have a fire tomorrow night with the young workamping family, near me. I think I will make hobo pizza over the fire for my dinner. Haven't done that since last summer. Kinda fun.

I don't understand the use of wheel covers. Can someone explain? I get it (maybe) if you are parked somewhere for a long period of time, but what's the plus side of them if you move around every couple of days? Just to keep the tires clean?

If you moved often I personally would not worry about it. On the other hand if you parked for a few weeks to a few months, you would probably see a return on your investment. If I was buying semi truck size tires like on a Class A the cost and work of covers could easily be offset. On a small TT tire I would just buy new tires when I had signs of aging or they reached 6 or 7 years old.

I mean my car and pickup truck tires last just fine. If I was putting a car in storage I might consider it.
