Anybody have one of these?

Anybody have a Leisure Travel Van Free Spirit SS? I'm wondering how owners like them and if they have had problems. It just might suit my needs for an extended trip.

I just watched this video http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I7ozHFbuM3 ... 7ozHFbuM3I

Doesn't it look a lot like that one the guy designed that you liked so much? Was it you that had posted that one? I can't remember, but the light colors & clean lines reminded me of that one.

Wowsers :o That is amazing!!! Even a slide out and separate shower. Of course...it's Mercedes ;) I probably don't even want to know what something like that costs.

I just typed you a long reply re my 2005 Leisure travel and near the end my son reset the network without warning me and the reply went poof and disappeared. I will try again tomorrow on the laptop instead of the iPad. Ugh all that two finger typing lost. The short version is I love my van but have had some minor issues.

That looks like a great floorplan with tons of storage. I looked at their dealer network and Johnson RV sells them (I know how much you LOVE them) or you can go to La Mesa RV in Sacramento. So, you could go to Johnson RV and look at one in person and if you decide that's what you want, you could go to Sac and buy there if you don't want to deal with Johnson.

Even if you decide you don't like extended travel, that unit would be great for the type of camping you're doing now.

Wow that is amazing!! I looked at the web site for Van City in St Louis, they are a big Class B dealer here in the Midwest & have a large inventory but most say call for price. A couple that did show prices were in the $125,000 range! You can see the different models here. http://www.vancityrv.com/leisure-travel-vans/ Some of the new Roadtreks and Pleasure Ways also have a lot of really nice features.

Vicki, you're right, the LTV Free Spirit SS is a lot like the modern one I posted a while back!

The reason I think the LTV Free Spirit SS would fit my needs for a long trip is the amount of storage and the separate shower. I have loved my Roadtreks and it's been great for how I use it now, but there is very little storage. I'm wondering if the quality of the LTV FS SS is as good as RTs. I'm looking for a used one since they are so expensive. I have never seen one in person, only photos. There is a used one in Kalispell, Montana. I will check out the dealer in Sacramento. My goal is to not add any more expenses to my budget, especially if I'm not going to work for a while!

MandysMom, I look forward to your post!

Judy, I know nothing about LT's. However, I see there is one for sale at area code 206 (?) A 2006 LT, 22' Mercedes Benz Diesel for $52,000. If interested call Carole @ 206-863-0530 FYI, lyn

Lyn, thank you. I called the number but it is not in service. There are lots of LT models and I wanted to find out which this one was. Where did you see the ad?

This one has an island bed. Personally, I hate making a bed in the corner. It's the little details that matter.

Vicki the Free Sprit was neat but I would not like having to make the bed every night. Looks like you'd have to close it up use the door.

The Unity and the Serenity are very cool, but I like the size of the Free Spirit SS. You can use the door with the bed open and without extending the slideout. The Serenity is rumored to be in a class of it's own, and very special. Also very expensive!

I looked at the you tube video of that one too. Personally (and you mileage will vary :D ) I would want a dedicated bed. I think it would be a pain to make and unmake the bed so you could have the couch. I'd bet a dedicated bed would have a more comfortable mattress too. No seems or joints to poke you. Would you need special sheets? Just something to think about.

Melissa, you are right about the bed not being permanent, but in my RT now I put the bed back into a sofa every morning. It's a tradeoff I'm willing to make for a smaller RV since I don't full time. Full size sheets will fit the bed perfectly so that's good. I keep going over and over the Free Spirit SS to make sure it wlil work for me. I'm driving down to Nevada in a few days to take a look at it.
