Still cold Friday

It looks like the cold will continue for a while, too! Who's ready for spring?

I'm sorry to open MC on a dark note, but wish me luck today, ok? I'm off to see my lawyer in a few minutes -- getting started on the lawsuit that will force my brother to turn over my inheritance. Patience and negotiation have failed spectacularly. This is my RV-ing money, and it's too much to just walk away from, so I have to do it. But oh my, I'm in a tailspin over it. Don't want to burst into tears at the lawyer's office. Fingers crossed.

Good Morning !!! Louise, so sorry, your day is one you are not looking forward too. We each have days that we have to do something we wish we didn't, but you have to take care of yourself, so sometimes, there are times we just have to grit our teeth and get it done !!!! Good Luck !!!!

Still cold here, I'm in Florida, the sunshine state, so where is the sun ???? When I see temps from home and the snow, I still like it down here for the winter chilly or not, its the best place between the two.

Nothing on the agenda, except go and get Maggie another bag of food, had to hunt a place for it. Not used to Petco, but find they carry it, used to getting at tractor Supply, they are everywhere, except here

I also need to do a wee bit of housekeeping, using my RV as more a bedroom then a home right now, I have had a tendency to lay things around, not good, have to put things away, so I can lay them around again

So sorry you have to go thru this Louise. Family is sometimes very hard to deal with, as some on the forum know. Understand that the forum gals are here as sounding boards, moral support and to be here if you have to vent. Don't worry about crying in the lawyer's office. I'm sure they have seem most of everything, and the lawyer is on your side.

What a bitter, bitter winter for all of us CArol. Dad is in West Palm for the winter as usual, and he is complaining of the cold also. According to the weather report this morning, the polar vortex is back, as little weaker than last week, but now they say it is coming in in 3 phases over the next few days. Yesterday the reasoning is the sun spot activity is slowing down. Happens not too often this bad and "they" said the last time this happened, the canals in Venice froze

Sure hope Sarah & Cricket get further south soon for some type of warmth & that Cricket has no damage from frozen water lines.

Try to stay warm, have a good day, and for everyone on the road, stay safe.

Had a little better luck with sleeping last night; the extra layers of clothes seemed to help ward off the cold.
However I'm moving way too slow this morning. I really need to be back on the road in about 1/2 hour but iffy if I make that.
Doesn't look as if I can get below freezing line tonight either but a bit warmer and I will at least be in north FL.

Dang cold weather for those of you in FL who fled the colder climates--but yes, CArol, it's much better than being back home! I'm so thrilled to be in above-normal WARM temps here in CA. All is well with cousin & aunt, & I get outside as much as I can to enjoy the sun.

FL gtg! Looking forward to hearing all about it & seeing pix! Safe travels to all on their way there.

Good Morning... yes Louise it is fine to vent most of us have done that many many times... just hope things go ok so you can get on the road...
Carol truly I believe it there is a flat surface there must be something on it... a stack of papers, a cup of coffee what ever!! my place needs cleaning but I have to put the rugs outside to brush them and then dust the floors... it is not the weather to put things outside...
The man that is going to fix my roof thinks he should be able to do it soon... the weather has been so wet and not warm enough to settle in...
I was up till 4 this morning so did not get up till 9... not a good habit but who cares Shadow goes right along with what ever I do... now he is laying beside me on the couch... he is such a great dog...
Good to know you are moving south Sarah... it will be a welcome change for you...

So far, Molly seems better today, so I am going to try to keep my reservation for the Hillsborough GTG as of now, anyway. Those of you planning to caravan from St. Cloud, I have left you my phone numbers in private messages so you can call me and let me know where and when to meet. (Sorry for including GTG info in here, but I get here so seldom any more that I feel I must let people know.)

Louise, I was really hoping your reason for cancelling your reservation was for something fun and good, but I see now that it is anything but those things. I will be thinking of you today at the lawyer's office, and if you cry, so what? Just take plenty of hankies. I will be sending good thoughts your way and hoping you can stand up for yourself and get what you deserve. Maybe you can still come to Hillsborough after all!

Carol, there is a Tractor Supply in St. Cloud where I used to get Molly's food, so if I can help you by getting whatever Maggie needs, let me know-----if you will be at Hillsborough I can pass it on to you? And you are so right----this cool weather down here is vastly better than the -30 to -40 degrees standing temps back in my northern home that they have been having along with wind chills of much lower and tons of snow. Wish we could get together sometime if we both can manage?

Sarah I am so excited that you are heading south! I hoe your weather at least gets warmer as you get closer and closer! You and Nikki will have to share bedclothes and fleece jammies to stay warm until you get here! Hang in there! I can't wait to see you again!

It's 27 degrees here right now, with a wind chill of 16 and a light dusting of snow! I-10 is shut down because of ice on the bridges and overpasses.

Sarah, I'm glad you had a better night, take your time and keep heading south, sooner or later you'll either get warmer weather or run into the Gulf.

Louise, good luck at the lawyer's office today. I know it's hard when dealing with family, but you can do this and we're all here for you.

Today will be the 3rd day I've kept Ronnie in bed because of issues with broke skin and a pressure sore. The first, last and only time this has happened previously was in 2006. Healing takes so much longer for him and he has no patience, so it's not been easy for me either.

It's 37F here right now with a wind chill of 28F...too cold for GA....

Vickie, I feel your pain with trying to keep Ronnie in bed to heal....Tell him I said to behave and get better real soon...

Off of work today because of ice on I-10 overpasses and bridges. My office also closed because of road conditions.

Burr....it is 27F (windchill of 18F) and sleeting in my area at this time.

I am trying to stay warm. A pajama day for me.

Hooray Barbie made it out of the frozen tundra to Florida!!! I was so worried your plane wouldn't be able to take off in that cold of weather. Louise, (((HUGS))) hang in there and even if you cry stand your ground!! Vickie I hope Ronnie gets better soon so you can get some rest. Men are so hard to convince that healing takes time. Carolyn I hope it warms up I know you all aren't prepared for cold weather. Stay home till the roads are clear it is impossible to drive on ice and when it starts to melt watch for black ice while walking or driving! Sarah I hope you get to warmer weather really soon, hopefully after Monday and Tuesday of next week things will get back to normal.
It was around 8 when I got up this morning but supposed to get into the twenties this afternoon!!! I don't think it got above 10 yesterday. I'm going to a party tonight and I think I'm going to wear my very old, very warm down coat. My friend may make me leave it in the car when we get there, maybe it is so old it now passes for vintage.
Soos I hope Molly continues to improve and you make it to the GTG.

I have been up and down all day. I don't know if I have the flu or a cold but I feel like s**t. I keep changing beds because a cool bed feels good. Annie and Stinky want to lay on me but I'm too hot to have fuzzy cats sleeping on me. I think my headache is finally easing off. It hasn't gotten above 28 all day so the sleet is still frozen. My Sister lives about 100 miles Northwest of me and they got 4 inches of snow. They live on a dirt road and couldn't make it to the highway. That's probably a good thing.

I'm glad to hear Barbie made it to Florida. I hope Sarah finds some warmer temperatures. I'm afraid the weather we have is going to head east. Hopefully it will get warm enough tomorrow to melt the ice. There are travelers stranded all along I-10, I-49 and hwy 90.

I need to find something to eat but nothing sounds good.
