Donna, I looked on the side of her link and found title and takes you right to that blog.

Very interesting, yours is first mention of being stopped by check points while touring, I thought border checks were it. New info, love reading these blogs, I'm gaining lots of knowledge, :D

Keep on enjoying, you and Mitch decide to do Cananda, can I go ???????

Two great posts Tina as usual. Wouldn't Mitch have fainted if someone from China popped out of the hole Audrey was digging

So, maybe Canada next summer eh? That would be an interesting trip also I think eh.

Have fun while of the grid & check in when you can.

When we visited MX we were stopped by federales (sp) right on the highway. Four guys with machine guns in the back of an official looking truck. Really gets your heart pounding. Probably looking for drug smugglers. Very unsettling.

I love seeing all these women out doing trips with other women! I do like men but the company of other women is comforting and fun.

They sometimes separate depending on what they want to see, sometimes Mitch and Beth go together and sometimes Tina and Liz go. They usually meet up again after a few days and then will switch who they are traveling with. I think it depends on what they are in the mood for kayaking, taking tours or just resting on the beach. Birdie isn't with them.

There are military check points all along the main highway. And you also see hummers and trucks with military personal traveling up and down the roads. And yes, they have guns on them. I have never felt threatening by the fact the military here are carrying guns. Now the potential for road rage in America by random folks with weapons, that can be intimidating to think about..... :?
