There have been many people reporting that they received this request, myself included. Several people accepted the request & received a chat from the account that was obvious spam. If this happened to you, delete the "new Beth" account & change your password!

One more good reason I don't do Facebook
Someone tried getting into my gmail accoout a while back but Google caught it. Had to change my password. It originated in Mexico.

Sorry all - no way of knowing what/why it happened - but I've gotten requests before from existing friends - so it's ongoing ... my turn I guess.
