Congratulations on the new grandbaby Sheila. I'm still waiting for #1 in March. In fact the baby shower is February 1st and I was informed by Ashley's mom that I'm in charge of the punch...anybody have any idea for a good recipe?

Carolyn...thanks for the recipe. I also found this one for a cappuccino punch. What do you guys think of this? I thought with the craze on all the coffee drinks and the majority of the guests are going to be the 30ish and under crowd it might be a hit. Maybe two choices for punch....a fruit one and a coffee one.

Ingredients
•3-1/2 quarts water
•2-1/3 cups sugar
•3/4 cup instant coffee granules
•1/2 cup chocolate syrup
•1 gallon vanilla ice cream
•1 pint coffee ice cream
Directions
•In a large kettle, bring water to a boil. Remove from the heat. Stir
in the sugar, coffee and chocolate syrup until sugar is dissolved.
Cool to room temperature. Transfer to four half-gallon containers.
Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
•Just before serving, pour coffee mixture into a punch bowl. Add
scoops of vanilla and coffee ice cream; stir until partially melted.
Yield: about 2 gallons.

Also found a SUPER simple recipe for mock champagne. Equal amounts of white grape juice and ginger ale. And add frozen strawberries, raspberries or grapes. That's my kind of recipe! Ashley's sister thinks we should have blue punch since the baby is a boy. I have trouble with blue food.

We all know your brain is frozen, but I'm sure you appreciate the recipe coming from Lenora.

Your recipe sounds pretty good. I've never been one to go to Starbucks or drink iced coffee, just when the coffee in my cup gets cold  but anything with chocolate and ice cream sounds good to me!

That coffee punch does sound good.

My husband had a problem with blue food also. Made him a cake once and dyed it blue. I thought it was pretty but he would not eat it. In the early days of our marriage, I got bored with the limited food choices we could afford and decided to liven things up with food coloring. He refused pink milk, green eggs, orange noodles as well as other creative, colorful dishes.

Sarah - now I've got this in my head
"A character known as "Sam-I-Am" pesters an unnamed character, who also serves as the story's narrator, to sample a dish of green eggs and ham, to which the unnamed character refuses, responding throughout the story, "I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am." ~~~ Dr Seuss via Wikipedia

I think if you did the coffee one that another one as well would be wise as others might not go for coffee...
one of the ones I was going to suggest was a really easy one
take sherbet soften a bit and add sprite 7-up whatever of that type
the other I would have to look at home for
Thanks for the welcoming to Emma

I'm just stressed and need to relax with my feet kicked up and want to feel like I don't have a care in the world for the moment.
Have spent the week researching (in between working of course) getting court records from birth certificate to marriage certificates
etc from different states and not to have to travel there to do it as I need the documentation to renew my cdl next month. Something
to do with homeland security and all that stuff that Arizona has decided we need to prove who we are when we renew our license.
Going on the California website it seemed to make me believe it would take 6 weeks to get it so I called them and asked if there was
a quicker way to do it. Well, there was, and that involved printing out their form, filling it out, getting it notarized and then faxing it.
Same with my marriage certificate from Reno. It was totally stressful and put my belly into spasms. (kinda like Montezumas revenge)
Haven't been able to stay out of the bathroom but I made it through the day and everything is on order and I should receive what I
need by end of next week. (so they say) Thats plenty of time before the deadline of my renewal.
Among other things, dealing with issues with sons new girlfriend, (can't wait to get out of this environment) and hopefully next payday
will get some tires and start that process. So many things on my agenda right now and they will all take time to accomplish. Need to
get my appointments made for a well physical and also the colonoscopy thing (which I have never done) Two of our drivers had died
over the break, one at christmas and one last weekend and another one came up with brain cancer and is in the hospital for a long time
with treatment, its treatable but he won't be back driving, he's going to do his retirement. All in all, it amounts to my feeling my age
and realizing everyone around me is dying and I need to think about my health and be able to enjoy my retirement. So changing some
bad habits and trying to eat healthier. Its alot for me to absorb right now. I'll get through it all, in time of course but end outcome will
be so much better for my health of course and that includes my environement.
Wednesday was an early release day and since I didn't want to come home, I went over to daughters and played with the baby for the
afternoon. He's at a really fun stage right now, walking around and just starting into that "mine" stage. It was a fun afternoon.
I'm feeling better just getting all this out in the open and off my chest. I keep dreaming and keep pushing myself. it will be so worth
it. :D

Sending you some positive energy. Tackle one day at a time. Sounds as if you are digging through a pile of "need to do's".....but you have a good track record of getting it done. And yes, the reminders that all this won't last forever. Glad that you are working towards claiming your health.....without it all the money in the world won't bring you the adventures you want to explore.....
