FL Hillsborough River SP GTG 1/25/14 - 2/2/14

Oh, to finally meet Barbie--but alas, my jello plans have been jiggling for a while & it looks like I won't make the gtg Will be heading west the first/second week of Jan--off to another "calling." Have a 94 yo aunt in CA & want to help my cousin who's caring for her. Cousin is having foot surgery on Jan 6th, has to be off her foot for three months! Cousin has services for help, but thought it'd be nice to spend time with aunt & give cousin another opportunity for R&R....

Y'all have a great time--hope to still catch up with some of you before I head west!

SOmeone can have site 112 if they hurry and get in. One res was for 23 26, another 26 thru 31. I just don't feel like going. Dont try to talk me back into it. Wendy

Of course you can come - doesn't matter when you joined. I won't be there - but lots will and you'll have a great time meeting all those who are. Check reservations and get in when/where you can - I know a couple people had to cancel, so there should be at least some of the days available.

So glad you booked a site and will join the group. GTG's are lots of fun. There are a mix of women coming ... some who are long term forum members and some who recently joined. I look forward to meeting you in person.

Snowbird Extravaganza is free and being held in Lakeland on January 28 and 29. I have never been there but have heard it is pretty good. Vendors and music. Free is always good. It's about 30 miles from our campground.

Parksdale Farm Market in Plant City - Another neat place to visit. Possibly the best strawberry shortcake around. It's about 18 miles from our campground.

Keel and Curlet Winery - Also in Plant City. Specialty is their blueberry wine.

As mentioned in a previous post, there is also The Barn Antiques and Backporch restaurant in Lake Alfred - about 30 miles away. Also a couple of gift shops. I've been there several times.

Just wanted to give a few ideas if anyone to explore something besides the state park. Getting excited about the GTG.

I don't think you will have any problem finding gals to kayak with. Many of them have their own kayaks. A very popular activity with this group!

Everyone is always welcome to these gatherings. It is fun to meet everyone and you never know what surprise you might get to see. I mean I brought cabana boy last year, but alas he won't be there this year. But you never know what you might find there.
