We are hoping to meet friends in Quartzite in mid Jan. Can anyone tell me what to expect temperature wise? Like how warm of clothing to take? Need less to say this is our first winter trip. Thanks for any advice. We will be staying with a group of friends from a rv club.

Just be prepared for everything. I have been there in January when it's hot during the day and needed shorts, but I've also been there when it was so cold we layered as many clothes as possible. Nights are usually cold no matter what the day brings. Can also get winter storms. So, to repeat, be prepared for anything. Dress in layers. Check the long term weather reports just before leaving.

It's a zoo there - horrible traffic, lots of people and a sea of rigs, but it sure is fun! Do you know where you are staying?

How do you define where you are staying in Quartzite? Does it have defined "neighborhoods". By now or what?

Yes, definite "neighborhoods". North of 10, south of 10. Milepost 99. La Posa South, La Posa North. Magic Circle. Dome Rock area. Rice Ranch. Each group has a name for their area.
Very cold at night. Day time temps can vary greatly. Take layers!!! lyn

Thanks for the helpful information. We will be with the GMC Western GM bus group which I was told is across from the big tent of activity. They have reserved this spot for I think they said years and years. I will get a better location and post later.
