Relaxing Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Relaxing Saturday

Postby carolb » Sat Dec 21, 2013 6:01 am

Good morning all! :D

Waking to temps in the 60's & looking forward to a warm 80 degree day with NOTHING to do! All cleaning done in aunt's trailer--HOORAY! May give HarBor a bath later this afternoon...

Beth, congrats on wrapping up another Amazon season with such accolades! Hurry on down to Sharon's--wish I could be there! Sharon, it is sad/lonely when our forum friends leave :( But I'll be there in a month or so if that's any consolation ;) . Have some projects for me to do  I like this "work on the road" stuff!

Hope y'all have a great day--fun plans for the last few days before Cmas? Safe travels always & treasure the moments! 8-)

Good morning,
Carol you sound like you are ready to move on to your next project. Congrats for getting your Aunt's place fixed up, it must have been quite the challenge. You should advertise your cleaning/organizing abilities and work your way West to your next Aunt rescue. I hope you find time for some fun.
It is pouring outside and has been most of the night, we are supposed to get between 4-5 inches ACK. The sump pump woke me about 4:30 cycling on and off at about one minute interludes. We had a lot of work done on the basement last summer and the is the first time we have had enough rain for it to kick on. At first I had no idea what the sound was, then worried about how often it was cycling. So I'm was on my cell phone, Googling about sump pumps. Thank goodness though it is warm, actually it was 65 yesterday, quite the switch from our record cold , snow and ice from last week.
I hope to get to the indoors farmers market as they will be closed next Sat. I'll need to get extra eggs for sure.
No plans for Christmas other than dinner Christmas Day at my cousin's sons house. I have a couple of gifts still to buy. It is a good thing my list is short, I am such a procrastinator especially when it comes to Christmas.
Irmi, will be thinking of you as you head south tomorrow. Have a safe, happy journey. Beth hope you are near or at Sharon's Baja launch gathering.

good morning ladies
routine Saturday for me although I'm working on an afghan for baby Jacks other grandma. Daughter put in the request for another
baby afghan about a month ago in shades of blue, so I expect to get it finished up by tomorrow evening. Have been up really early
and now its time for a break as my neck is getting sore working on it. Still need to get wrapping paper and get Jacks little gift
wrapped up. He's getting dvd's of Lion King and Finding Nemo and would like to find one of Cars. He has so many toys he really
doesn't need anymore for now. Daughter was happy to hear he was getting Disney cartoons.
Life is really strange right now for me, think it has alot to do with Christmas but so much on my mind wanting to get my rv out
and get it set back up. It won't happen overnight but it will happen in the next couple months, everything needs to come together
just right so lots of stress going on here.
Can't express enough how much I enjoy reading you alls posts and the things I can look forward to. It really takes the edge off most
of my days. :D
Time to make another pot of coffee, ya'll have a great day and be safe. Hope everyone is staying warm and comfortable.

Good Morning,

Ava, I know what you mean about having so much on your mind - I always want everything done yesterday! Right now the truck buying decision is rolling around in my head.

Carolb, congrats on a job well done! I think a lot of us would like to be at Sharon's right now! :D Beth, I don't know why, but it seems your Amazon time flew by - I'm sure you wish it had! Now enjoy the rest of your winter!

To the bloggers - I want to tell you that I do enjoy your blogs! With limited MiFi data, I read blogs on my phone and usually don't make a comment because I hate typing on the phone.

Once package from Kansas daughter gets here (hopefully by Monday), I am going to see if I can find a spot at the beach somewhere for a few days - probably wishful thinking.

Irmi, excited for you to hit the road tomorrow. Wishing you and everyone else safe travels!

Good morning everyone ~ hope no one is heading to do any shopping today. You couldn't drag me to a store at this point, I hate the crowds.

Mine will cycle on a lot also when it pours. It's doing what it's supposed to do, the water level gets too high & it ejects.

Thank you!, I was hoping someone would know if this was normal or not. I can't believe how much rain we have already and not supposed to quit until tomorrow. I'm not going shopping until Monday, weekends are the worst. I was at a mall yesterday backing up and some ninnie drove right behind me! I almost hit him. I told my friend I'm going to say something to that person so if you want to walk on in like you don't know me that's ok. Well as we got out of the car a lady shot by us walking very fast, a man was trudging way behind. Ha, so it was a man driver, I told my friend it looked like his wife had already called him a lot worse than a ninnie so I figured he had been chastised enough. :)

Good morning! :D I am on my way to meet a cousin for breakfast and then head up north to another cousin's for our annual Secret Pal get together with my mom's side.

Last night I bought a Nook Color on EBay for $60! I have been wanting one for awhile but didn't have the money for a new one (hard to find now anyways) or the newer Nook HD. This one (according to the owner) was bought for their son who never used it so it is like new. Will be nice to have on my Florida trip. Will have a few weeks to learn how to use it before then. I am pretty much tech-challenged but will find someone to help me figure it out.

Have a great day! :D

Good Morning… woke very early and then at 7 went back to sleep… not a good idea as it makes for a logy day!
The sun is shining again today… how wonderful is that!
Oh yes Carolb helped me move things off the MH floor so my son in law John could do the laminate floor… Now Carolb you need to see the finished project!
Coffee is just about gone…
Have a safe trip where ever you go today

Morning just about gone here.
Niece made it thru her first week of chemo without any new problems.
I may never breath thru my nose again - battled leaves half of yesterday and again this morning trying to get as much as possible up and away from yard drains before storms hit today. So far mostly wind this morning and misty rain but our TORCON has been raised to a 7 and we are already under wind advisory with current winds in the 20 to 30 mph range. 2 to 4 inches of rain forecast before daybreak Sunday. I did make a quick trip out to top off the van gas tank - don't want to take chance of no gas if we loose power. Pleasantly surprised the price was $2.97 gal.
Finished my Christmas shopping yesterday. Decided to wait until after storms pass to go check on Magic and run the engine for a bit. A little longer than I usually wait between checking on her but figured a few days wouldn't make too much difference.
Going to put on a pot of soup and hunker down.
Stay safe out there.

I didn't wake up until 9:00 this morning. My DH put the air conditioner on last night. It was cool in the house and I was snuggled up under 2 blankets. We have some bad weather coming and are under a tornado watch until 6:00, I should have gone to the store yesterday. The NCHA Futurity finals are on at 1:00 and my DH is not going to be a happy camper if it is storming and he can't watch TV. I don't know if a program will record if it isn't coming through because of the rain. Guess we'll see.

Carolb, now you tell me you are looking for projects. I just downsized 5 years of tax papers so I could store them. Finally got caught up on my filing so I will be ready to start a new box for the new year. Did I ever say how much I hate doing our income tax.

I usually make cake balls, cookies and candy for my friend's family and I haven't started that yet. I'm really running behind this year. Think I will go to the little local store and see if they have the cake mix and frosting I need.

The new kitten moved into the old house where I feed some of the cats. I can pet her if she is eating. If she will stay out of sight until she gets bigger maybe my DH won't notice she is a new cat.

I just lazed around on this beautiful day, getting ready for tomorrow. Tomorrow my daughter and 5 year old granddaughter are coming to make cookies. Wish me luck. The last time we did this my granddaughter dropped the metal cup of flour into the mixer while it was running and my daughter was totally covered in flour.....lol

Sarah, I had to look up TORCON:

TOR:CON Value Descriptions

8:High probability of a tornado
6:Moderate possibility of a tornado
4:Low chance of a tornado nearby, but hail and/or strong wind gusts possible
2:Very low chance of a tornado, but hail and/or strong wind gusts possible
0:Near-zero chance of a tornado or a severe thunderstorm

Funny, I have never heard that term used up here in MN. We have lots of tornadoes here in the spring.
***************************************************************************************

Also had to look up Kathleen's word "logy". Thought it was just a typo...

1.sluggish: with no energy or enthusiasm
Synonyms: tired · run-down · enervated · sleepy · wiped out · washed out · bushed

I think I am "logy" every day in the winter!

Carol, I have lots of projects you can help me with if you want to swing by this way!

Sorry Barbie, term is so common around here I did not think about it not being in everyday use elsewhere.

Mitch got me on one the other day; I had to look up the hamburger looking thing she was eating called a torta.
