Arizona is Worth the Drive

More pictures and stories.....but if I didn't have an appointment to drop the car off in Sharon's yard, I could spend a lot more time exploring Arizona. Maybe on the way back?

Yes, Arizona is a beautiful State. I have camped at Cave Creek a couple of times, and found the cholla to be pretty bad. Don,t let the precious pups get in it! Pictures were very enjoyable. Thanks, Tina.

Meant to say there's lots of good and beauty in NM, too. Sorry you weren't able to see it. But I do love Arizona.

Great post Tina & lovely pics. Knew you were a horsey person but didn't realize how much. Maybe if your back home at quarter horse congress time, we can meet. I'd love to get there again someday.

I am behind with everyone's blogs, but your title caught my eye! Glad you see the beauty of Arizona! Thanks for the exploration of places I have not been yet!

Arizona is a beautiful and diverse state. I used to have a subscription to Arizona Highways many years ago, and I just signed up for a new subscription again. It is an awesome magazine about beautiful and interesting places and history of Arizona. The photos are amazing! Definitely a state I want to do a lot more exploring in! I've only been around the Phoenix area and up to Carefree but want to see Sedona and the mountains near there. New Mexico is also on my bucket list. Haven't been there yet.

Have an interesting story about going to Carefree. I went up there with a girlfriend and her baby. We were shopping and stopped in a music shop. The owner thought the baby was really cute and picked up his guitar and played a song for him. I took a photo of this guy while he was playing and singing to the baby.
Later when I got back home, I was showing the photos to a co-worker friend of mine. Her mouth dropped open when she saw that photo. Years earlier, her ex-husband (who was into drugs, etc) had his obituary in the local paper, so obviously she assumed he died. Well, this photo was him! She said he was a great guitar player and would make up songs like that. When I described his personality, she said it was definitely him. Apparently, he was running from someone (probably drug dealer) and published his obituary and took off for Arizona and started a new life in Carefree. What are the odds???

Arizona Highways has a FB edition - and a friend of mine has a good friend, Jeff Lewis (that I follow on FB) who is an exceptional amateur photographer. Anyway, AZ Highways has a Foto Friday edition on their blog and a photo of his was the lead this week:

Not their header - first photograph. Judy (JB) you might want to take note he took it at Usery Pass - but he takes photos every single day and I check out his FB page to see them. I have no idea how he has time to work lol
