I figure any day the sun rises, it's going to be a great day for adventure.
No way can I afford Florida rates to camp at the beach. However, South Carolina state parks on the beaches are pretty reasonable and allow dogs, so I do all my beach timing in South Carolina before I get to Florida. It seems so funny! Folks assume I am down here in Florida flopped out on the beach every day, but not so.
I don't have a car, just the RV. Much of Florida is dog-paranoid when it comes to beaches, especially the state parks. The firs time I went to a Florida beach a few years back, I walked out with my 6 pound mutt on a leash with a fistful of poop baggies, and was told he couldn't be on the beach. It seemed ridiculous to have to stuff him back in the RV and because it was so hot, I had to run the generator and the AC for him while parked near the beach. Then I was lonesome at the beach, not having my little buddy along for the stroll. So I haven't been to a Florida beach since.
Ironically, I had walked him around before the beach so he wouldn't feel the need to poop at the beach, but I always have baggies with me just in case. Even in South Carolina, I walk him around before we hit the beach, in hopes he will do his personal business ahead of time and he usually does this. Whew.
I've tried to chase down a few dog friendly beaches several times, but I couldn't find them, so I've given up for now. I do my beaching in South Carolina then come to Florid to be warmish for the winter.
I so wish FLorida would go look at South Carolina beaches, people have dogs out there and I've never seen poop left behind.
But to sum it up, the sun came up! Yippie doodle doo! It's going to be another fabulous day even if there are very dark clouds looming about.
