Ready for bed but been watching the thermometer outside drop like in free fall. It's down to 27 and still dropping, pretty unusual for our corner of northern Ca, Roseville. Warm and cozy but it only was in 40s during day and even saw a few tiny flakes of snow around 11 a.m. Sunday will be another cold day but more sun than clouds they said on news. So glad for the new geo thermal heat pump quietly blowing warm air in. And used my brand new oven to make chicken breasts baked on stuffing mix, a welcome change from what I could do with a toaster convection oven. Had a few false starts learning to use the new digital controls after 65 years of dealing with ovens which had a dial but I too can learn, LOL. What was amusing ( though I kept my mouth shut about it) was hubbies derision over my calling him when I could not get the new oven to heat to 350 and then him sitting there on a stool for nearly 20 min before he got it going.

I was very ill for most of 2007 after a bout of pancreatitis and lost my hot flashes, plus was cold all the time, so I went out and bought a bunch of the heaviest sweaters I could find. Even then, I was wearing my coat at work and changed my desk for one in a warmer area.

Then of course, I got better. Back came the hot flashes, and I packed away all of those sweaters. :)

Wish I had one of those now. It was slightly warmer last night, but much windier, so I found drafts under the slides and even through the door latch. Sun warms things up during the day, so I went out exploring.

So, tonight I turned on my electric heater and it died. (Glad furnaces are working.) Got to buy a new one when I get to Las Vegas in three days. Also, my bike has a flat tire from a thorn, so will need to find a bike shop. Plus I need to get something for my bank notarized and find a post office to mail some stuff. Have an appointment at Camping World to get leaking sink fixed and tire pressure checked. Between all of that, and laundry and grocery shopping, I will be busy for a couple of days. :(

Good thing is that my water pump that would not prime is now working, so I can get rid of my full tank of fresh water. Also, my cousin is in Las Vegas and recommended a campground near a casino that has a Dunkin Donut place inside. THAT sold me!!

Judy
the campground in Vegas near the casino does it have a name? My sister said I ought to stop for a couple of days but the campground we used to go to seems to me to be narrow so was leary of using it...just don't feel that confident in maneuvering. So if you could share would appreciate it and perhaps we can gtg I am hoping to leave tomorrow I know I said that yesterday went out and couldn't start my truck did I say it was cold here? So in trying to get it to start ran down the batteries!!! that's my story and am sticking to it!!!
So after talking to the niece where the trailer is and she said 20 % chance of snow aint going to happen those are her words so if I get up there and it's snowing well we will see what I do ...tomorrow is suppose to be a warmer day anyway...
So I will be checking in here tomorrow even rather I leave or not

I'm not someone that gets bored very often but if I don't get out tomorrow I will be climbing the wall. Nothing on TV worth watching. I have an eye doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon and suppose to get my hair cut on Wednesday. I should go to town in the morning and pick out some glass frames because I won't be able to see when they get through with me. I haven't gotten new glassed in 2 or 3 years and the lens are scratched.

Judy, hope they can find out what's wrong with your water pump. Most of the time they can't find out what's wrong with something that works sometimes. It took me 2 years to get my cruise control fixed. Every time I would bring my motorhome in for service I would tell them that it worked sometimes but most of the time it didn't. I finally must have bitched enough that they put someone on it. It took 2 days and some new switches but it works now.

Good thing I don't have any dunlin donuts right now I would probably eat the whole box.

There's a Dunkin Donuts at the Sam's Town Hotel and RV park - and it's supposed to be a nice one, Sheila. Can't say as I haven't stayed there. But check it out. I think rates run about 20-25 a night, depending on site size, etc.

Sheila, I think from my friends who stayed there it was easy to get to - and I know it's not on the strip. Here's the address:
5225 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas

It's been too long since I've been in Vegas - but I think it'd be easy for you. And I pulled this off the internet:
Directions: From Jct of I-515/US 95/93 & Tropicano Ave (Exit 68): Go 1-3/4 mi E on Tropicano Ave, then 3/4 mi NW on Boulder Hwy (R)

And in doing an internet search you get a 10% discount if you're a Good Sam's member.

Thanks Beth
So thought that I would be leaving tomorrow again..went out this morning and the truck didn't start finally got it jumped and let it run for a couple hours and turned it off went with dd to shop and have supper came home went to start the truck and no go nada ....batteries were good when he jumped it...just sitting here shaking my head wondering what is it..my mom tells me that it's that I'm not suppose to go to Q this year...what she doesn't understand is that I can't afford not to... aside from the fact that I want too...my youngest daughter is expecting her first first part of Jan. Truly if it wasn't for the weather right now (so cold and I'm sure everything is frozen and need to be where it can thaw out...and Salt Lake City isn't it at least right now not to mention that I can't afford it...and even if I just stayed for a month there is still the weather to contend with getting down to Q just feeling down right now!

Sheila, You said .."went out this morning and the truck didn't start finally got it jumped and let it run for a couple hours and turned it off went with dd to shop and have supper came home went to start the truck and no go nada ....batteries were good when he jumped it

If it is really cold when you are trying to start the truck this may help. Before you turn it on, turn your headlights on and wait 30 seconds, then turn them OFF and try to start it. Turning the headlights on warms the battery a bit, or so I was told and it has worked for me in the past. Also, running it for two hours might not be long enough to charge the battery if it has run down. If you can get to an auto store have them check battery to see if it is ok and have them put it on a charger. Hope it is fixable and you don't need a new one but sounds like something is wrong. Did you check your connections?

Judyjb, sound like you have way too many problems with your RV, what are you driving? I hope you get it all fixed soon.
