had to try out the bar stools (saddles). Being a city girl, I was not quite sure how to mount it...

You sure better get that figured out before you meet Pedro! :o
(...he might have a horse  )

Also love your avatar! You will have no problem attracting cowboys on your adventure to Mexico!

You should have brought your bras with you and hung them up at that bar. They might have even given you a discount on your drinks for the "generous" new décor!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

You do look like this (and it's great) and sometimes you look like whatever it is you blurred out ... what can I say - you can't look absolutely stunning ALL the time.

I just read an article that said there's a mad rush of Moms buying up all versions of "Momma, don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys" LOVE that avatar, Mitch!

Maybe they should put out an alert in cowboy country that you all are on the way, good thing there isn't a hunting season on them  And I agree go back after dark, you can ask one teach you the two step, even if you know how, pretend you don't and impress them with what a quick study you are. Oh, and another tip if in an unfamiliar bar, check around to be sure there are also girls in attendance besides the waitresses. Don't ask me how I came across that tip...
Your new truck does look great with your camper, good choice. I also really like your new avatar!

Avatar, Yes! I also love this new one.

I wish I looked that good (still trying to figure out how to hide my 3 chins - long hair does help a bit, doncha know)!!

Anyway (thought I would put my hand in at hijacking a thread!) my favorite cowboy/western (and bittersweet) song is here:

My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMko5LelBdA

Someone has put some really old images to the music (I do love YouTube). Listening to the music here and watching the images roll by really put chills down my spine.

I was a wanna-be cowboy in a previous life (my grandfather loved old Westerns, and we would watch them together when he came to visit once a year or so when I was a child) and I also kept horses for many years.

Those were the days.

Anne,
Glad you made a post on this thread - not sure how I missed it earlier, but grateful it was brought to the forefront this morning. :D
PS. Really appreciated the youtube link... love that song!

Looks like the journey to Baja isn't letting the ice & freezing temps stop the fun.

Mitch, I've been thinking how great your avatar looks for the past few days - glad to see you off that pillow & enjoying yourself.
Thanks for the blog. It's going to be fun traveling along with all of you. Hope temps warm up so you can move onward for the hunt.

One of my favorite Willie songs, loved the utube video. I'm sure I saw Pedro's great grandfather in it. :o

Nan, you are presuming that we will be bailing Mitch out. I think at some point she becomes Pedro's responsibility!
