My theme is to not die sitting in a recliner at home being bored and boring. I love to get in my little Roadtrek and go somewhere even if its only 50 miles from home. I love new places and new sights. Just relaxing and enjoying life, slowly.

I agree! (Except I brought my recliner with me!)

When I started doing this, my one son asked me if I was bored and lonely. I told him the other option was to stay in my condo where I would REALLY be bored and lonely! I'd rather die in a huge crash on the freeway than never have tried this at all.

National,State, County, and COE parks. Historical small towns and anything I might stumble upon.

When I get to go......I would love to visit the national parks, check out some of the caverns and caves....and I absolutely would love to find as many waterfalls as I could...nothing more beautiful to me!

I think I will just be happy to breathe and enjoy nature and the calm life. Hope I can make it happen!

This is a thought-provoking question. I guess my 'theme' is being at home in the outdoors, whether it be in my yard or in the most remote place to which I can get. I have always loved camping, whether it be in a make-shift shelter, a tent, out in the open skies, or here in my trailer now as I have gotten older and appreciate more comfort! I have traveled across this country and back a couple of times when I was young and agile, seen the spectacular sites of our highest mountains and the flatness of our biggest deserts. I have climbed all 46 of the highest peaks in the Adirondacks with my two dogs of that time, paddled many miles of streams, rivers, and lakes, ridden my bike thousands of miles with a tent and backpack, explored many historical sites and contemplated what life must have been like way back when. Now I simply love being outside as often and as much as possible. It's exciting to think my house can now follow me as I seek out new places to explore. The biggest problem I have is finding the funds to go!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

When I was a kid I thought the goal was to relive President Lincoln's life. It seemed every family vacation ended with a "Lincoln slept here" plaque.

Having driven a semi in all 48 contiguous states I'd kind of like to go back and visit many of the places I drove on by. Parking a 80' rig is limited. The oddities, like the world's largest ketchup bottle or largest ball of twine catch my attention. When I drove long haul I would request loads by what I was hungry for. I would like to do a BBQ tour of the different BBQ styles. I enjoy the little mom and pop restaurants serving local flavors and favorites. Distilleries and vineyards (love the reds) are also fun. At one time I thought it would be fun to be a traveling judge for BBQ events but rethought that. There is a difference between judging and enjoying the meal. Also want to watch them handroll a box of cigars for my humidor in Little Havana.

Summary, I'd like to see oddities with a good meal and end my day watching a great sunset, smoking my cigar and sipping on some Gentleman Jack
Note: The eye roll, that's mom telling me I'm so lady like. Momma tried, I'll give her that. ;)

Yup - have those on the list too. And oh forgot - I'd like to do some horse back riding thru the parks also. Seems most parks have some type of livery, or livery nearby.

I look for hiking trails, nature, scenery and history. And as Beth said, whatever else strikes my interest.

I don't think that is a theme, but more of a necessity!
