I am looking for......

Postby rmsealarke » Thu Nov 21, 2013 9:52 pm

Hi,
Thought I could ask for some help finding some Melmac/Melamine dishes for my new (yet to be purchased) camper. I just lost a bid on an adorable pastel set on Ebay and I just wanna cry...lol I found another set in seafoam green but they have to find it in storage so I was wondering if anyone has any leads for a great set for an affordable price?
Thanks! Let me know if you are looking for anything and I will search for you as well!

I have a discontinued Corelle pattern of dishes and I find pieces at Replacements.com. They are expensive by the piece but they must have over 1,000 patterns. I don't know if they have any sets but if you find one you like you might be able to find extra pieces.

I know the old Melmac couldn't be used in the microwave, not sure about any newer ones. I use paper plates & Corelle most times, but do have a set of the blue speckled enamel/metal that my Mom gave me from their RV for when I don't use the microwave.

Wow! I had no clue that the older Melmac couldn't be used in a Microwave, not that it will stop me from getting some. Thanks for the info! The replacement site sounds like a good idea as well. Thanks so much Ladies!

I found this blog that might give you more info, plus down towards the bottom they list Melmac that is for sale on eBay.

Antique malls are another good place to check. Many of them have more collectibles than true antiques and bargains can still be found.

You might check at Target. They usually have quite a selection in my store and I don't recall that it is very expensive. I buy the cereal bowls and use them for dog bowls. Here's a link: http://www.target.com/c/dinnerware-kitc ... oryId=4111

Some really cute holiday themed dishes available now. Shoot, now I want some.

We just use what was on clearance at Walmart. I personally don't care to eat off paper or plastic plates so I just go to the clearance isle. Still have a set of 4 in their box for when we break this set. Think we pay about $10 for a set of 4.
