Judy, I'm so glad you're recovering quickly. I don't think I could hit the road so quickly. You go, girl! On to the next adventure!

Good evening. Settled into my campsite for the night in Coalinga, CA. Older park but totally doable. I arrived here just at dark thank goodness. I no longer like driving at night. The roads (I-5) have been horrible in the Sacramento/Stockton area, totally remodeled my Motorhome. I opened my fridge and found one whole shelf on the door had come loose....lordy stuff all over but nothing opened. I am scared to open any cupboards lol

I got the Motorhome washed this morning at the Blue Beacon and that held me up for about an hour as I had to wait and once you are in line you are stuck.

I waved to ya Beth as I drove by the Tracy exit.

I should be settled in my spot for the next three months tomorrow night. Buellton is about 3 hours from here so should be an easy drive. I am excited to do some exploring of that area while I am there. Looking forward to the better weather this winter for a change.

I had two previous lithotripsies without a stent. This urologist said I needed one because of the size of the two stones and the chances of them causing damage or getting stuck after they were smashed into pieces, so I went along with it. Research on the internet, however, shows that a lot of urologists do not use them. There were even a couple of studies showing that they did not help pass stones or prevent damage. I question why putting a tube inside another tube (a ureter) would help something pass--seems as if it would make the hole smaller. It also makes sense that curling something up inside your bladder would make it rebel and be painful.

I think the telling point is that it took only a couple of hours to make me start feeling MUCH better. I feel really back to normal now. I do still have a lot of small pieces of stones inside me and may end up with one or more of them getting stuck or causing bleeding while passing, but I think I would take those chances against the stent. After all, I had lots of pieces that passed in those two other procedures with no problems.

Think I will go to a bigger town and shop around more for a urologist next time. Suggest any of you do the same in case you ever are in this situation. Thanks for everyone's good thoughts.

Glad you are finally feeling better! Pain in that area is awful! Such a sensitive place. I have never had kidney stones but I have had lots of UTI's, and I am sure the stones are much more painful, never mind a stent!

Man, imagining that pain you must have had to endure for so long makes me feel sick to my stomach, Judy. You have really been through hell with these stones this time. May I please never get kidney stones. :(

Here's hoping you have smooth sailing from here on! WHEW!

Death Valley here I come! I am really infected by the travel bug, and am very anxious to get on the road. Then Anzo Borrego State Park.

Had a nice day today with my grandkids, but will be seeing them again after New Year's day. We are meeting in Anaheim--son's trailer and my motorhome--joint camping! Other grandma will be staying with me, so it should be fun.

People should really make an effort to attend these school and community productions because they mean so much to the kids!

Traveling has meant I have missed the real shows, so I would have gone if I had been there.

Well, I still haven't made it to Death Valley. Something must have been going on because I just could not get a full-hookup site until Dec 1. The big problem is that I am having water pump problems--I think it just needs to have the screen cleaned but it is so tucked away that I cannot reach it without sticking half my body into the storage compartment and I am getting too old for that. I've tried to get someone to fix it, but the bigger places are booked in advance, and I did not want to waste time sitting around, so I switched my reservations around and am now in Anzo Borrego State Park--beautiful place in the desert surrounded by mountains--highly recommend it!!

Today, I drove all the way around the Salton Sea and found a strange campground at Mecca Beach, Salton Sea State Recreation area. It is gorgeous because it is right on the sea, with a beautiful view and lots of birds. What is strange is that the sites are all in parking lots! You can park parallel to the sea, with your door opening that direction, but you have to run long hoses and electric cords. There are only four full-hookup sites and the rest are no hookups at all, but at least you can make reservations. Place is deserted, which will be nice. Had a long chat with the camp host and then later did some more reservations switching so I could stay there this coming Thurs-Sun, so I won't get to Death Valley until Dec 5. No reason to hurry!

I read the rvreviews.com reviews on this campground, and they are fairly negative, but I think this is a good example of what criteria people are using to grade a place. No activities, no playground, no trees, no WIfi, and trains going by across the road, but what a view!! There is good cell service, and it looks like a friendly place.
