ladders

The old Clipper had a shelf like affair where the ceiling went up near the front of the rig. While the storage area this created was appreciated,
the best thing about this was that it gave me something to hang onto while crawling down the darn ladder.

The new machine has no such handhold. The closest is the control knob on the AC, and a knob on a cabinet. Neither is very secure or sturdy or trustworthy.

Anybody else found a more secure way to be a round old gal and get in and especially out of that cabover?

They make specific cabover ladders - I'd look into those.

The RV came with a ladder, and there's nothing wrong with the ladder itself. It hooks to the bed,so it can't fall, and it's got nice big steps. But I'm not flexible enough to be on my stomache and put my feet on it, and coming down facing outwards with no place to grab's scary.

Well, think I'm moving downstairs anyway.

You don't come down facing outwards - ever - on a ladder. You come down facing in towards the bed the same way you go up - same on any ladder. It's completely dangerous to do the other. Is it so close to the ceiling you can't sit up or get on your knees? Then again, mine doesn't have a ladder - you should see how I climb up and down - but that's only for the storage, not often.
