Early Friday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Early Friday Morning

Postby linann » Fri Nov 15, 2013 4:48 am

It's a quarter to 5am. My poor cat woke me up at 4am, sneezing and coughing. Gave her some medicine that should help.

Amazing how quick the summer has flown by. Here we are heading into another winter and the holidays. Some of you are talking about winterizing and others are heading off to warmer climates. I'm hoping for a mild Florida winter with not too many cold days.

Good morning, Linann, and all that follows...

Spinner had us both up at 5:25am....I just have to laugh when he goes to Ernie's side of the bed and "Grrrrr-Woof's" at him...Meaning, Dad take me out cause I can't wait until she's had her coffee.....so Ernie complains & grumbles, but he gets up and out the door they go.....This doesn't happen very often....but I was nice and got up, turned on the coffee & the news....love my guys.... ;)

Rain in the forecast for today, but the temps are suppose to be warmer....high of 70F....

Okay, need more coffee so will stop for now...

Have a great day, all...

Morning Lyn,Lori and all to follow:)
Just a quick "hi." Sis from IL will be arriving later this a.m., then lots to do. My bro just explained that we'll be with the Planetary Society group to expierence all the launch events. The PS is headed by Bill Nye "the science guy," if any of you remember his daily spots on PBS. We even get a tour of the "vehicle assembly building" so that'a pretty cool. Contacted Soos for a possible over night stay, and she's offered her entire house to me, sibs and poopers! Will definitely gtg with her when I take bro to Orlando train sta on 11/22 or so...
Have a great weekend everybody--Donna and Linn having their gtg:) Excuse typos--on cell this a.m.....Red, glad you had a chance to gtg on your own! Y'all be safe!

Good Morning!

Carol, Bill Nye is still a celebrity to my family. Kansas daughter and family had tickets to see him at Kansas State U last month but was postponed due to his injury on Dancing with the Stars! What a cool experience you are going to have!

As Donna said, rain predicted. Guess I really don't mind - get it gone before December! :)

To those of you up early because of pets, everytime someone asks why I don't have one, I tell them your stories! :) Don't get me wrong because I know how much your pets are loved - been there.

Hope you all have a great day.

Morning All, I will be on the road today. I am heading to Southern California to an assignment in the Santa Barbara area. I NEED to get out of town today as snow is predicted in the passes tonight. I had planned to leave today anyway so it is working out well. Good grief you would think we never got snow in the Siskiyou pass down here. The news is full of "put your chains on if going south over the pass as you will need them". Wouldn't be so bad but they are sooooo dramatic. I am leaving well ahead of the storm.

Had to replace an inside dually tire yesterday. So glad I found that out before I got on the road. Could have been BAD. So I laugh because my "free" air check ended up costing me $250 ha ha Also got new windshield wipers so it promptly rained when I got home. LOL

I will be heading out about 11 or 12 this morning. I live at the bottom of the Siskiyou's so I want to make sure the fog has lessened and roads are well traveled. I am only going about 200 or so miles today so I am not in a big hurry to get out of here. Have to make sure the house is buttoned up for winter here. I have a great neighbor that will check on it, get my mail, and turn the heat up if it gets really cold. I am looking forward to a warm winter. I have never had that yet LOL

SNOW STORM 2013! That's SoCal for you, seems mid Cali is the same! LOL! If we have an inch of rain coming here that's all the news talks about is flooding! Gotta love it, tho!

Have sewer problems...line is plugged from the house to the septic. It's right where the line dumps into the tank. Happens every 10 years or so here. Sent one of the kids over to the grands house to get the snake, tip broken off but ran it anyway. Of course it didn't work, but did confirm my original diagnosis. That's a good thing, at least it's not the tank or leach lines. I hope. Kid is getting a tip and will be over later. At least Hope is still in the driveway and I can use her for potty and shower. The Samcat is pissy, he likes his morning drink of water out of the bathroom sink. My bathroom sink, not the guest one. Running, please. More than a drip but less than a stream. No, he's not spoiled. Maybe a little.

Sand drags tomorrow at Soboba, hoping I get to go. Stuff just keeps coming up. For sure won't make the races on Sunday, family obligation that I have to be at. Missed the ones in April because of family stuff. I love my kids and stuff just happens.

All of a sudden at 6 this morning realized I'm heading out in a week...boy this came up fast! I just got home! :D Gotta get busy, that's for sure! No way to get anything I forget so have to be super careful about loading for this trip.
Have a great day everyone...weather is sucky today, breezy and foggy.

To use Sharon's word, the weather is sucky here too. If you noticed I didn't say good morning, I do hope you all are having a better morning then I am here. I thought my morning was good until, I went out to get to my app. for hair and I find the coolant light on, on my rig. For those of you who don't know, I sold my car, so when I do go out , I travel in my RV. This might be a real serious situation, my manual says see a Sprinter dealer immediately, well mine is over 80 miles away. My neighbor is a mechanic on semi's, so I am hoping he can help me. He was the one who gave me all the info on this DEF(diesel exhaust stuff) So I am hoping he knows which coolant and where and how to put it in and that he will. Think I have a lot of wishing there  :(

I had my day all planned, and now have to replan, (my computer says that is not a word), but that's what I have to do :D After reading everyones post this morning, find I am not the only one with a problem, so adding mine, so I am not the only one who knows I might have a huge problem here. Oh well, this to will pass.

I thought I was leaving here and heading to warmer climates, Sunday morning, but that may have to be replanned too, (computer sure doesn't like that one  ). Sharon, I do hope you can fix your problem and get it unplugged , instead of having to call. Donna, hope your Dad's friend comes today so you can get away. Been there done that, and there are times, you just can't deal with anymore and need to get away. Not saying you don't love your Dad, but there are very trying times to get through. Think Barbie is having this same problem, hang in there and get away when you can.

Really gloomy outside, Karen, safe travels over the pass, and for the rest of your trip. Everyone stay safe that are traveling today, well I'm off to do something that needs to be done and that will make me happier :D Also so many areas to catch up on the forum, so I'm sure to be able to keep myself busy and not thinking to much until this evening when neighbor is home.

Have a good day, what ever you choose to do. Those in warm climates with sunshiny days, please have mercy on us that are not, and don't tease, please !!!!!!

CArol :) .
Kathleen, so sorry to hear about your expensive trip to repair shop. The way things are going here, I may not get on the road until you are, maybe we will pass each other on the road :D See you in Fl

Karen, travel safely! I will be going over that pass on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Santa Barbara is a great place to spend the winter. I plan to be there in April to visit kids and to welcome a new grandchild into the world. Enjoy the sun!

Well I missed morning here again.

Carolb- much of my husband's work was devoted to part of the shuttle program, mostly on the solid rocket booster system. I made a few trips to the Cape with him and was fortunate enough to get inside the VAB. It is an amazing structure but no way could I have ever climbed all those steps.

Judy, glad to hear the stents are out. CArol, hope you are still able to escape sooner rather than later. At least it is warming up for a few days.

Made trip into town for new tag for Magic. Could not believe they were out of truck plates which is what she requires. Current tag expires end of month.

Niece's appointment did not go as well as we expected. She still has too much drainage for them to remove tubes and surgeon says he cannot do the next round of surgery until they come out. Doctor brought up radiation as a possible alternative or at least to slow the spread of remaining cancer (chemo already planned for later) but niece is terrified of idea of radiation and wants surgery now. The stress of waiting is taking a tole on her. Doctors want her to think about situation over weekend and they will do a recheck early next week.

Hard to believe our temps will be back in the 70s this weekend. We lost our brilliant blue skies with cold sunshine as trade for warmth and rain. The rain got here earlier than I expected so leaves not up or gutters cleaned. Shouldn't be all that much problem if rainfall remains relatively light.

Stay warm and safe

Sarah, I'm so sorry the news was bad. With lots of prayers & healing vibes, maybe the recheck will be better. It's so hard to know what to do when faced with these types of decisions.

Lots of woes for many of us at this time. It always makes me wish there were something I could do to help, but......all I can offer is advice to hang in there and hopefully things will get better or at least look better tomorrow! Judi has to be happy to have those danged stents out! I know that Sarah's niece has a tough row to hoe at this point, and I will send strength to her and cancer-shooing powers.

I would love to meet Bill Nye in person! Be sure to get some good pics, Carol! Looking forward to seeing you when you do the airport trip----
