Thurs in FL!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thurs in FL!

Postby carolb » Thu Nov 14, 2013 6:45 am

Good morning all! :D

Yep, bro & I made it here yesterday--thanks Irmi, for letting our MC peoples know I hadn't had to leave bro somewhere along side the highway  Cramped, but we did very well & had some LOL experiences. One of which was having to "break out" of a cg yesterday a.m. Yep, leaving at 6 a.m., found the gate locked & couldn't get the combination to work, & the entire drive was blocked by large posts in the ground. Hmmm, park wasn't going to "open" til 9:00! So we sat, pondering, & come daylight at 7 a.m., I walked the dogs & noticed a gap between a couple of trees at the side of the entrance :o . Bro had to hold some limbs back, but I was able to squeeze HarBor through with no damage! Just too funny--anyone ever have to do that?

But being cramped, it was inconvenient to get out the laptop, so I tried to keep up via my phone. Can't remember all now? Kathleen, glad your pipes are okay! I'm staying at sis's farm which is only 6-7 miles from Wandering Oaks where Irmi & Steve stay! So we'll all be close. Anita & Red, I'll be seeing you soon! Ava, how great to be getting your fifth wheel set up! Sharon, crazy biker lady! BJ, I know you like all the natural things, but I too swear by Zicam--I like the soft melts, as compared to the spray.

No sign of bro being awake--I got my bed back & he's sleeping in sis's house. Sis on her way down today from IL, will be here tomorrow. Then, launch stuff on Sunday & Monday.

Yikes, sorry for rambling, but being absent so long  well I'm just so happy to be back! :P

Y'all have a great day & be safe always! 8-)

Good morning Carolb and all to follow. Carolb, glad you and bro had a good time and made it safely to FL. Hope we get a chance to gtg while we're at WDW in Dec. On a last minute spur, I decided to take RED (solo) and go over to San Antonio and gtg with some friends. Have to be back Sat eve cuz we're donning TDay gtg with DH's fam before we hit the road next week. Have to hit the road now to miss AM traffic. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha

Morning all,

Fast hello this morning. Been painting kitchen since weekend. Long story short, didn't like first color after it dried, so am repainting with second color. just about done, should finish today. Thinking of making soffits a complimentary color, so may have to go back to paint store later. Also big discount retailer closing up shop and sales starting today, so am heading into town to see if there are any bargains I can use.

Carolb, glad to hear you made it to FL safe and sound. Got a good laugh out of your campground "escape" Am behind on this forum so got to play catch up here. Have a great day all.

Good morning, Carolb, Red, Sue and all those who follow... :)

I slept in this morning.... It was almost 7:30am before my feet hit the floor....The guys were already up and had done the morning walk...They even had my coffee already for me.. :) I must sleep better when it a little cooler out.... ;)

After a run to the post office and the store today, will be dedicated to the laundry, then hopefully will have the afternoon to work on a project...

Okay, I need more coffee, so will end my rambling for now...

Have a great day, all...

Good Morning,

Carolb, welcome to Florida! Glad you had good trip down this way.

I, too, have had some better sleep - sure makes a difference.

Had to get the heater out last night and this a.m., but it is a beautiful day. Even better because neighbors and their barking dog just pulled out!

The wire shelves over both sides of my bed for clothes have been driving me crazy, but I just hadn't done anything about it. Mitch's idea yesterday got me going and I now have two containers - one for undies that were previously taking up drawer space and one for t-shirts! Thanks, Mitch!!

Red, have fun and see you soon! Sue, you have more patience than I with the painting!

Have a great day all!

Good Morning All, Glad to hear Carolb made it to FL OK. Laughed at the "escape adventure". And, no, I have never done that.
Been a busy week for me so far. Lots of visiting and lunches out. Things will be quieting down now after a trip to Wally World.
Our weather here has been fantastic the past few days. Supposed to cool down now with, maybe, rain on Sunday.
Red, I really enjoyed hearing about the driving school.
Have a great day, lyn

Good Morning all,
Carol, glad to hear you and bro made it to FL and had fun escapades along the way. I've heard good things about Zicam, just never tried it, I would have to do the kids dose as I have such a low tolerance for most drugs. Three baby aspirin is my level of pain medication. The Chinese acupuncture/medical doctor I see told me to make a tea of orange rind and ginger and that worked really well. I wanted to go for chicken and dumplings today with my brothers and cousin but don't think I'm germ free yet so had to pass. :( Maybe I can talk DH into going and bring me a carry out :)
Red have a good time on your road trip to San Antonio! Sue if you get every thing painted at your house come visit me! Lori 7:30 for you is really sleeping in, you are usually up before the birds! Anita you sound happy to be off the road for awhile.
I hope everyone has a safe, fun day.

Carol, you're in Florida! Hurrah! I got such a grin from your campground escape. I've always disliked the idea of gated campgrounds, since there's never a 24-hour guard. I can't image a single gate keeping evildoers out, and what happens if somebody needs an ambulance in the middle of the night? Silly.

Very sunny here today. I'm off to enjoy the afternoon!

Good morning ladies
Went to bed early last and slept well. I'm happy, yummy breakfast
at IHOP, but I'm afraid this sugar rush is gonna make me crash later.
But it sure was good.
Good to see Carolb has made it to Florida, and Barbie making future
plans. Have a few more errands to do before clocking back in, ya'll
have a great day and be safe.

The Great Escape:

When we were kids we took a trip up to Nova Scotia with the family pop up. We stopped for the night in a city park/campground on the way up in the heart of some city and the people that filtered through after hours made my folks "nervous" to say the least. I remember packing up before dawn and dad moving the gate so we could escape before they opened.

Went for my x-ray this morning. Tomorrow is the urologist to hopefully get this stent out. I am OK as long as I am laying down without rolling over and sitting very quietly in my chair. Just getting tired of the pain.

Dumped black tank and not all of the TP came out. I think I really need to get on the road and slosh stuff around. May even try to ice trick. In the meantime, it is working adequately, which is all I care about at this point.

Grey day here. Hoping to head south and spend some time in Death Valley next week. Really, really getting the travel bug! 8-) Got an old friend from a workplace stopping by. She is here on business, will have her house paid off soon, and wants to buy a motorhome. Considering that she works from home, she is in a terrific position. Only problem is that she is terrified of slides. Got to convince her she will really regret not having them.

Judy, I have been following your healing journey and have been sending silent thoughts of strength, patience and endurance to make it through the pain of your healing "therapy"

About your friend and her "need" for a slide. I agree that slides can be marvelous additions to many floor plans, but also know many folks that love their rigs and floor plans without slides and have reason to appreciate that not have a slide or two reduces the over all weight on a rig and can increase the amount of stuff one can haul...... I had a slide and when I down sized I went to a rig without. It is one less thing to break down and/or leak. In really cold or hot weather they can make it I little harder to maintain a comfortable temperature inside.....

Give her all the information and make her think about the options and let her make her own decision....then down the road she can't blame you for her choice!
