Like a pig's tail..twirly

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Like a pig's tail..twirly

Postby JoanE » Wed Nov 13, 2013 12:34 am

It is an old kid's joke but being first to MC at 12:24AM is too early. Just stayed up so late watching episodes of The Following. Last night it was Skyfall. Love my Netflix.

Took Maggie to the vet today for all her vaccinations and blood tests. Didn't realize that she had not been microchipped, so did that too. Ka ching.

Has anyone heard of Sisters on the Fly? Another group of rving women who plan gtgs around outdoor fun like fly fishing, horseback riding, dude ranching, white water rafting, etc. They seem to have some vintage trailers that have been renovated. Found them while looking for ideas for sprucing up my interior.

Time for bed. Have a happy day.

Yes, I've heard of them. Pretty neat little trailers but not all of them have oldies. Some of the gals have newer trailers. Anything goes! Fixing up some of those canned ham trailers is very expensive and when you get all done you still don't have a bathroom, holding tanks, air conditioning, etc. They're cute but I think I'd rather have something newer.

Good Weds. morning, Deeann, JoanE and all that follows...

Up at 4:20am with a chill in the air....Right now it's 42F in SE GA....Burrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....So put the coffee on and turned up the heat...and told Spinner to go back to sleep cause it was too early and too chilly and too dark to go out then.... Weather man has us very windy with the colder temps today so will pull out the sweatshirt to wear with the jeans....and put on sneakers and socks...giving the flip-flops a rest for awhile....

We got a little running around to do today, but hope to have it all done by noon...

Okay, as I said the coffee is ready and oatmeal is hot....help yourselves... ;)

Have a great day, all...and if it is chilly where you are, stay warm....

Good Morning to all!

I wish I could go to Wickham for a couple of days, Donna, but right now I need to save every penny to try to pay my property taxes for my house down here. This late Social Security check (third Wednesday is late this month) is putting a real crimp in my budget. Beef stew sounds wonderful!

I intend to cook a turkey here in the house just for myself, if no one else shows up, I will enjoy every bite anyway! I think the kids are taking a vacation that week to a condo that Melissa's grandma had a share in and gave to them....not sure where it is, but they will be gone. I'll make my favorite New England stuffing to go with it, too! Any takers for a Thanksgiving feast here at the house?

Cooler today, and quite windy here in Orlando, but a piece of cake compared to the 20 degree temps and snow back in the mountains. Glad I trimmed my palm trees yesterday as today would be too windy to climb a ladder!

Not sure what I will do today yet, other than try a bike ride after I pump up my tires. Always doggy walks, too. And lunch with Melissa at noon.....looking forward to that.

Happy travels!

Good morning everyone!

Kathleen, I'm so glad your pipes have thawed and everything is in working order. It won't be long and you'll be heading to Florida.

It's cold and blustery in MD. Our woodstove can hardly keep up when it's like this.

I received an email from Carolb early this morning that she and her brother were in SC, and I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't in FL by this evening.

I visited Dad in his new home a couple days ago and made mention of me bringing my keyboard to play for the small group there. When I emailed the director of the home if that was possible, she said Dad had already asked her, so I'll check their schedule of events on the calendar to see when I can do that.

Safe travels to everyone on the road and I'm looking forward to joining you.

Good Morning!

Thanks for the update on Carolb, Irmi!

Sounds like many of us have cooler temps and windy conditions today. At least it will be cooler inside and maybe I'll get more done.

I have also been having trouble with sleep. Made myself roll over and go back to sleep every time I awoke after 4:30 this morning! First time took awhile, but didn't get up until about 10.

Have a good day everyone!

Absolutely drop dead gorgeous day here so far! Need to go to Wallyworld today, out of canned cat food and guess who thinks he's starving to death? Never mind the fact that he's hit the dry food several times this morning. Had a really nice ride up to Idylwild yesterday. No traffic, good road, good company and good food. I figured there would be more motorcycles up there but we were the only ones. Not such a bad thing! LOL! I keep saying I need to get up on the roof and drain the coolers, guess I bettr do it. Last year I waited until after Thanksgiving because it was so warm and it froze one night while I was gone...30 bucks for new copper line this spring. Don't want a repeat. Better run, have a great day wveryone! Stay warm! :D

Not morning any more but still cold. Been dreading going out but it is grocery shopping day and I need something for making a pot of soup. One more cold night and we will warm back near 70s for the weekend.
The Sisters on the Fly group is an interesting one but have a strange rule: no dogs. I have seen a couple of features about them on TV.
Have a nice day; I'm heading out into the cold. Don't want to miss senior discount day at Publix

Miserable morning. I am comfortable until I wake up and start moving around, so I may go back to bed for a while this afternoon. Got up and did some laundry, but the walking around has caused more blood in my urine and more pain. Guess it was dumb to not wait until my son got here.

And to make it worse, toilet has a TP clog. It did not show full, but was. Dumped it and still saw stuff in it, so did the stirring trick and then dumped with my flushing hose that runs from the outside directly into my tank on. Now, it is sitting full of water and I will do more stirring and more flushing. PITN!! And just what I don't need right now.

I have not had a lot of company, but I will admit that lately I have not been focusing on adding enough water. I put only #2 paper down toilet, so it must have been building up. Oh, well, have had problem before and got it unplugged, but this is just not the right time. Am sitting now and trying to be still so bladder spasm will go away. X ray tomorrow and hopefully stent will come out on Friday.

Judy,

I am so sorry for the problems you are having. Literally, when it rains, it pours. I do think when you are not well or recuperating, you can feel somewhat isolated in an RV so I am glad you have this forum to come to. We can all commiserate as most of us have had similar problems and have had to deal with them without anyone around to help out. It sounds like you have a wonderful and helpful son however so that's good.

I am paranoid about my black tank and probably the only one who will only let people #1 in it. I know there will probably be a time I will have to use it for the other but in the meantime, I'm not ready for that step yet. Fortunately, everywhere I have been has had restrooms/showers so it hasn't been inconvenient yet. I also find myself using the tiniest piece of TP I can get by with and just have to trust what is going on in there when my grandchildren come to stay. They know the drill now however. I also empty my black tank when it is about 1/2 full instead of 3/4 and, like you, I use a lot of water to flush.

I hope you will get to feeling back to normal soon and everything will fall back into place.

Hugs,
Judy
